Why would Vince allow Taker to miss an entire TV taping to work a match in Memphis?

At the time, they were hyping the Taker / Yoko casket match at Survivor Series - and Yoko wasn't working too many tapings himself leading up to the PPV. I'm thinking Vince thought they would be fine by just airing the weekly vignettes of Taker and Yoko along with mentioning Chuck Norris' involvement. They were basically just living off the Rumble match to get people interested in this one.

I just got a ton of old Observers and it seems as though the USWA shows were often held on Monday night so there was usually at least one WWF guy working in TN instead of the tapings - whether it be Luger, Adam Bomb, Men on a Mission, Tatanka, Crush, or Taker.

I know the USWA always had shows at the Mid-South Coliseum every Monday night and WWF stars were almost always on the show from about 1993 on (essentially once McMahon had Lawler under contract). But it just struck me as odd to have one of the top guys working somewhere else on the night of a TV taping.

I've done a little looking around since last night and came across several more instances of top names working Memphis instead of the Raw tapings.

The day after WrestleMania XI, Razor Ramon won the USWA title off of Bill Dundee in Memphis and, the day after the 95 KOTR, the Undertaker & Dundee teamed up to beat Tommy Rich & Jim Harris in a bodybag match.

Steve Doll was Timothy Well I'm 90% sure of it...

He was in the ring when Hall returned to WCW in 96
