What a terrible card, still that's awful attendance. That's an essential C show. I find it funny that Koko B. Ware couldn't even beat a manager.

Bruno Sammartino headlined this day for 7 consecutive years.

He was so HHH back then.

Well, except his matches were worse.

[WWF @ Portales, NM - July 25, 1988 (302)
DJ Peterson defeated Billy Anderson
WWF Women's Champion Sensational Sherri defeated Rockin Robin
Paul Roma & Omar Atlas (sub. for Jim Powers) defeated Barry Horowitz & Sifi Avi
Frenchy Martin pinned Koko B. Ware
Tito Santana pinned Ron Bass ]

Wasn't Frenchy Martin Dino Bravo's Manager back before Jimmy Hart??

And that is on shit card.

He sure was, Frenchy managed Bravo until I believe somewhere around WrestleMania 5, if not that event itself. Ronnie Garvin punked out Martin after the WM5 match, so that might have been his send off.

I actually saw Frenchy Martin vs KoKo B. Ware on TV here as part of a taping at Maple Leaf Gardens. The only time I had ever heard of Martin wrestling until now.

I remember Frenchy wrestling.

He was a total bloody jobber.

He was the kind of guy Koko would beat on TV.

I assume so. He likely joined up when they took over whatever the hell Tunney was running.

Different promotion. Tunney only ran Toronto.

Frenchy probably came in with the Rougeaus and Dino in 86. I think Haku was working Montreal full time at that point as well.

I researched Portales, New Mexico on Yahoo and I found it was the home of the well respected institution of education, Eastern New Mexico State. I bet the show was there, somewhere on campus.

Still that's miserable 1995esque attendance for a show, even if it was a C show.
