Some good choices, and lots of crap.
Of course, it's a popularity contest, and unfairly skewed towards newer stuff as expected. |

Run a North American version of the poll and watch Inuyasha shoot up to at least the top 25 and see Gundam possibly plummet all the way off the list.

I second the disappointment of Excel Saga not being on the list. Also, why exactly is Pokemon on the list? I like the games and all, but the show itself is way too formulaic (even for kids).
Like others have said, too many classic shows got the shaft. That's not to say that aren't some great new shows, but many of the older ones have stood the test of time. |

Ranma 1/2 should be higher, too. And hopefully when they mention Dragon Ball they're including DBZ in there as well. Sad to say I've never seen either Tiger Mask series. |

I know. I was disappointed to see that neither Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo made either list. What might have worked against them is the fact that they're only 26 episodes apeice; the majority of the series on the lists are much longer.

There's only 26 episodes of Cowboy Bebop? Wow, for a show that seemingly has been around for some time and only 26 episodes?!

QUOTE(Ced @ Sep 26 2005, 02:08 AM) wildpegasus: I've managed to come across info and pics on the Tiger Mask anime and been aware of its existance for awhile now, but I haven't actually seen an episode. I saw the last 30 episodes in Japanese. It's a great show overall from what I've seen. Seemingly not perfect but it was hard to tell because I didn't know what they were saying a lot of the times. They seemed to be trying to fill up too much time at the end of it. It's actually rooted in reality but in the same breath they use the animation to of course escape from reality. Mostly in the wrestling ring. The wrestling matches however still feel real because nobody really has superpowers and they all use moves we're familiar with. Some wrestlers walk the line with the superpower/real human deal though which I absolutely love. The training techniques are unreal! Music is great too. Perhaps the best fights ever too. Full of good/great physcology (maybe the best I've seen in this department too) and more violent than you can ever believe. Some of the death leagues had to have their inspiration from this show. Animation is limited but you never really mind since they do a lot of nice tricks to get by it. I liked the way the show came off on the TV screen. Of course, you have all the great charactors in the show. The wresters from the Maskmen league are cooler than ice and the real life charactors -- Well, how can you beat a show that has Inoki and Baba in it? |

The show looked promising from what I saw of the English dub. First of all, stay the hell away from the english dub. It is horrible. They should've left "Pegasus Fantasy" as the main theme. Also, I don't exactly recall the editing job they did, but I think they changed the color of blood or something like that, or they didn't show it at all. There are DVDs available which are uncut but unfortunately only cover the early part of the first saga IIRC (this is a LONG series) with Phoenix Ikki. The Powers-that-be recently announced that they're finally getting to work on the final part of The Hades saga (covering the last issues of the manga series) which fans have been clamoring for, since it's taken so damn long to be green-lit. |

No Cowboy Bebop
No Vision of Escaflowne No Azumanga No Trigun No Irresponsible Captain Tylor No Saber Marionette J No Slayers, even. These lists are complete ass. It's good to see that bad taste is universal. One Piece as top 10? Getthefuckouttahere. Slam Dunk, Gundam and Detective Conan are the only highly ranked ones (that I've seen.) that are even close to Bebop, Tylor Azumanga and Escaflowne. How can people even like Dragonball? If you read the Manga you realize that literally 50% of the anime from the Frieza saga on was filler, and obvious, pointless filler at that. The Ghost in the Shell TV series is positively soporific. Even the GOOD fighty-fighty shows like Bleach and Kenshin got shafted pretty badly. Wait, Devilman and Cutey Honey made the list? What the fuck. I'm not even looking at this anymore. |

Old school Dragonball, before Dragonball Z, set when Goku was a kid, is far, far better than DBZ, although I can enjoy DBZ for what it is. Dragonball is more about comedy than fighting, and the even work comedy into the fighting

These lists blow. Really fucking hard, too.
No Trigun, no Slayers, no Bebop, but fucking NEGIMA MAKES THE LIST(first one, obviously)? Now, I'm a Negima fan and all, but the anime is SHIT and royally butchers the manga. On the second list, nice to see Gundam get some love even with garbage like 0080, Wing, and SEED Destiny stinking it up. Kenshin suffers from that really awful filler arc that got it cancelled before the Jinchu manga arc could be finished, sadly. Naruto, One Piece, Slam Dunk, and FMA have no business being that high, at all. |
