Carwin's a good prospect and all, bu it's hard to pick a guy who's faced absolutely nobody of worth just yet, and is going up against an opponent with a world class jiu jitsu game and KO power standing, even if said opponent is a mental midget.

I'm with Lei here. Not so sure I'd say Gonzaga will win 100% for sure, but it's impossible to say how Carwin will do.

Everyone he's fought has folded against him due to his power. Gonzaga's brutally strong himself. He's got KO power standing, and world class ground skills. On paper, Carwin has nothing over Gonzaga except aggression.

This will be a pretty insane leap of competition for Mr. Carwin. I can't say he won't win, but I can't say he will either. I'd side with Gonzaga before I did Carwin though.

UFC 96

Shane Carwin vs Gabriel Gonzaga

Brandon Vera vs Mike Patt

Now, I'm not going to put this up unless it has some legs behind it but Chuck has said in a recent interview that for his return fight he'd like another shot at Keith Jardine and even though he's on the downswing Chuck is still a golden boy for UFC so we very well could see that go down.

At this point it's expected that if Shogun comes out of the Coleman fight victorious and injury free that we'll get Chuck vs Shogun as the main event with Jardine now fighting Luiz Cane in April.

Well I looked at the previous post before your last one so I thought "I am an F'n idiot, its right there".

Question for the vets in this thread. I have only watched a handful of UFC PPV's, and I know 96 isn't a real high profile card, but is the live experience worth paying for? I was by Nationwide Arena today and checked out the prices, and was a little surprised, but am still thinking about going.

I'd say yes. Saunders/McLovin, Gonz/Carwin and Miller/Maynard all should be good fights.

Nationwide has also had pretty hot crowds in the past so I think you'd have fun regardless of the star power a show carries.

It's nothing concrete, keep in mind. There's various reports saying Chuck/Shogun will be the main of 96 but with Dana recently confirming that Rampage is #1 for a title shot it seems like Evans/Page is a go in the coming months.
