Elite XC.....

Recommended Posts

I figured I'd post this here as I didn't see it anywhere else. I apologize if it's been posted already. Ken Shamrock and his son have both signed on with Elite XC I believe. As far as Kimbo vs Tank, I really hope the one punch knockout Tank shows up that night because I'd love to see someone give Kimbo a good ass kicking.

Elite XC is already building towards Ken and Frank Shamrock's fight, somewhere in December. They obviously know that'll be their big "break through fight" if they ever have on.

Kimbo versus Tank will be awesome for the one minute it lasts before Tank gasses and Kimbo beats him to death.

Well Gina Carano was supposed to be on the card but she dropped off because supposedly with all the training she has been doing for American Gladiators, she just wasn't ready for a February fight......

Antonio Silva is on the card......the giant of a man.

Here is a pretty entertaining interview with Slice/Abbott/Shaw from WO.com

Kimbo vs. Tank pretty much tops any other fight confirmed for this year in a "...Holy fuck awesome" type of way. You KNOW someone's walking out of that cage knocked the fuck out.

Their conference call only made me wanna see that fight more. Kimbo relating fighting Tank to screwing a porn star, and Tank being insulted that Kimbo said he drinks beer (He can afford Vodka, he insists) made that a must watch.

I hate to see Le get fed to the wolves so early in his career. I'm not suggesting fighting nobodies, but after he gets crushed the interest in him is going to fain.

And I can't wait to see Robbie fight again, he's been looking great

Chung Le is like 35 years old, it's now or never for him.

So Dana White basically said that Kimbo Slice would get hurt real bad against any UFC HW....

“Sean Gannon beat him in a street fight. Everyone saw happened to Sean Gannon when he fought a guy that no one ever heard of (a decisive TKO loss to Branden Lee Hinkle in the UFC),” “Gannon was in the hospital for three weeks.”

But White wasn't finished.

“That’s what would happen to Kimbo Slice if he fought in the UFC. He would get hurt bad – real bad,” White concluded.

Kimbo's inexperience would hurt him, but with Bas training him, I think he could hang.......of course it comes as no suprise that Dana White is hating on a non-UFC fighter.

Anyways, this Satuday Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott :headbang:

At this point... Of course, Kimbo is nothing more then a work in progress. But using the Sean Gannon fight as an example isn't the smartest thing to do.

I don't think it will go past a round. I like Kimbo's youth, size and power to edge out Tank Abbot in this one. The only reservation I have is that Tank still should have one punch KO power.

Kimbo RD 1 3:04

James Thompson just made the announcer look like a genius by getting KTFO right as he was talking about his weak chin.

And a card in Florida equals Troy Waugh, the most annoying referee of all time.

Kimbo just absolutely murdered him.

And say what you will... the crowd loved that shit. You hear very few ovations that loud.

Overall a pretty good show. 4 KOs, including two spectacular ones by Edwards and Kimbo. But Silva going the distance with Ricco? Is Gary Shaw still going to claim he's the best heavyweight in the world?

That was an incredible KO by Kimbo! I don't know if Tank has lost his power or if Kimbo has a great chin because Tank caught him with about 3 clean shots on the chin to no avail.

If Shamrock wins his fight I guess we will be gearing up for Kimbo vs Shamrock in August. I think that matchup may warrant Showtime airing their first EliteXC pay-per view.

that Kimbo/Tank fight left a bad taste in my mouth. I think it is a disgrace to even refer to that as MMA.

Given the two participants, I shouldn't have expected anything more, but it was hard to see someone who is obviously washed up like Tank Abbott give no defense and get his head punched in. This was "human cockfighting". I respect the fact that Kimbo is obviously taking this seriously, training with Bas and all, but I've felt dirty after watching both of his fights.

Oh, well. Silva v. Hendo is gonna rock.
