Turducken

I gave in to temptation and we bought a turducken for Thanksgiving dinner. Has anybody had one before? Good? Bad? Any cooking tips?

I thought it was pretty bad, though some people say it's an extremely difficult dish to cook and prepare correctly. Those people are prob. full of shit, so whatevah!

There's a place in my hometown that does turducken and sells it by the slice at dinner. Very good, though I'm not sure I'd make it a regular or even a thanksgiving thing. It's so heavy that it kind of defeats the need to have anything else on your plate.

I'm not sure how all of the meat being inside of each other actually changes the taste. If you take a slice of turkey, doesn't that, uh, taste like, uh turkey? I figured Turducken was just sort of a strange way of having three different meats at Thanksgiving.

When made properly, you end up with a cross-section of sorts, so you get some of everything.
