Yeah I thought that was a bit big of a promise. I'll have to watch the preview show again as it's completely possible 10 Pounds and I just assumed they were talking about the 2008 HOF.

2007 is pretty good, though. Some annoying fans, unfortunatley.

Piper's Pit on MSG is quite amusing, to see Piper and Heenan go on about the Mets/Red Sox World Series (the Sox had taken a 2-0 lead at that point). I can just imagine the Brain character going apeshit when watching Buckner and the tenth inning.

Regarding the Hall of Fame show, the preview show said something like "You will see the complete, unedited ceremony from this year's Wrestlemania". Since they tape so much stuff in advance, with shows still ending with © 2007, it could explain why "This year's Wrestlemania" was actually WM23.

That was a great Piper's Pit. Piper was not as entertaining as a face then he was as a heel but early in his face turn, he still had some of Heel Piper still in him. Only downside is that Orndorff came off as looking like a buffoon.

Speaking of Piper's Pit, I noticed they beeped Piper when he called Adonis a faggot. That reminded me of something that really irks me about 24/7...censorship.

It's bad enough that the DVDs are now being censored (the cursing/naughty words, Austin flipping off people) but I find it completely inexcuseable to be doing it for 24/7. 24/7 is an On Demand service that you have to specifically order. The people ordering it are adults with credit cards. I think it's a safe bet to say these adults have been long-time WWE fans. 24/7 was created to reach these fans who want to watch the wrestling they grew up with. I sincerely doubt the ten-to-twelve-year-old John Cena fans out there give a damn about anything that happened five years ago.

I understand the copyright issues, particularly in regards to music. It's unfortuneately happening with a lot of television shows that are being released on DVD. I understand blurring the logo. I don't like any of that but I understand it. But to go beyond the uncontrollable and start censoring language and obscene gestures on a channel watched primarily by adults is stupid and inexcuseable. I'm paying money to watch this channel so I can see the wrestling I used to watch many years ago. I'm not paying for an over-the-top censored and filtered version of it. The WWE is absolutely terrible in this regard.

Is there anyplace I can e-mail them and complain? It won't make a damn bit of difference but I'd like my complaints to be heard nonetheless.

The schedule on the first post is now updated to reflect the next 4 weeks of programming.

Not the best month, but I'm looking forward to aspects of it. Can't go wrong with 10 Eddie matches and while it's no Bret Hart HOF month, I'm a big Tito Santana fan so that has me interested as well. I'm also interested in finally seeing the Eddie/JBL bloodbath from Judgment Day and I haven't seen Clash 35 in almost 11 years and I am interested in that card.

Jack Korpela makes a note to say "You'll see every Raw and Nitro that went head to head" in the May preview show, I guess in case anyone were to ask where the 7/21 episode of MNW is.

Well it's not usual that 24/7 is airing "Next Month" promos before WWE.com updates their page but there was one before the Eddie/Kurt match proclaiming June to be "Gold Rush Month", stating titles will be all over the place with title changes and what not. Works out nicely that the 3 hour Nitro with Luger / Hogan airs next month in MNW.

Slamboree 2000 won the PYBO (I guess my daily voting paid off!) so hopefully I actually get it this month. Next month's PYBO is between KOTR 93, 95, and 96. I'd like to get 93 on tape.

This is the June preview:

JUNE 2008: GOLD RUSH

All June on WWE 24/7 On Demand, join WWE 24/7’s Gold Rush and mine our wrestling archives for huge Championship matches and historic title changes all month long.

Legends
Hall of Fame: Nick Bockwinkel – For nearly two decades, the title scene in the AWA was dominated by the legendary Nick Bockwinkel. Follow Bockwinkel’s incredible career, from Tag Team supremacy with partner Ray “the Crippler” Stevens to AWA Championship battles with Verne Gagne, Hulk Hogan and Curt Hennig. Relive Bockwinkel’s 2007 WWE Hall of Fame enshrinement, as Nick is inducted by Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Plus, see Bockwinkel’s classic feuds with Jerry “The King” Lawler, Sgt. Slaughter, Stan Hansen and others.

The Legends of Wrestling: Worst Characters – Dusty Rhodes, Michael Hayes, Mick Foley and Pat Patterson join host Gene Okerlund for a no-holds-barred roundtable discussion of the worst characters in wrestling history. See classic footage and hear the stories behind notorious Superstars like the Gobbledy Gooker, Red Rooster, the Shockmaster, Mantaur and others.

The Big Ones
WCW Great American Bash ’92 – The annual Summer spectacular features a tournament to crown new NWA Word Tag Team Champions. Teams competing include Steve Austin and Rick Rude, Ricky Steamboat and Nikita Koloff, The Freebirds, Brian Pillman and Jushin Liger and more. Plus, Sting defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Big Van Vader.

WWE Old School – Madison Square Garden 1/23/84 – Relive the night that changed the course of Sports Entertainment history, as Hulk Hogan challenges the Iron Sheik for the WWE Championship. Plus, a jam-packed card features Magnificent Muraco defending the Intercontinental title against Tito Santana, a 6-Man Tag Team action featuring Andre the Giant and more.

TV Classics
Gold Rush – Five (5) Shows featuring Championship clashes from a variety of wrestling promotions and eras. On Saturday Night’s Main Event, three WWE titles are up for grabs, including Shawn Michaels challenging the British Bulldog for the Intercontinental title. On Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer Jack Brisco defends the Mid-Atlantic title against Paul Jones. On WCW Thunder, “Hitman” Bret Hart challenges Lex Luger for the U.S. Heavyweight title. Plus, title clashes from Stampede Wrestling and more.

The Monday Night War – Two (2) new episodes of Raw and Nitro heats up the rating battles between WWE and WCW during the Summer of ’97. Raw features Dude Love vs. Owen Hart and Triple H battling Vader. Plus, “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels gets some surprising support when battling Mankind, while the Rock makes a huge decision. On Nitro, Hollywood Hogan defends the WCW Championship against Lex Luger, Chris Jericho faces Eddie Guerrero, Ric Flair battles Diamond Dallas Page and much more.

Shorties
The first Undisputed World Champion in wrestling history, Chris Jericho, joins WWE 24/7’s Gold Rush as Y2J presents shocking Championship clashes. The surprises include the McMahon family challenging for WWE Championship gold, Ric Flair defending the NWA World title against Ron Garvin, actor David Arquette fights for the WCW Championship, crazy WWE Hardcore title moments, Chris Jericho’s own WWE Championship controversy and more.

Great American Bash 92? SOLD.

Next month is indeed Gold Rush month. Highlights:

WWE Hall of Fame: Nick Bockwinkel. Awesome.

WCW Great American Bash '92. Fuck yeah. Vader wins the WCW World championship, and the NWA Tag Title tournament is concluded.

WWE MSG: 1/23/84. A historic card as Hulk Hogan defeats the Iron Sheik for the WWF title. We've seen it before of course, but here we get all the festivities.

TV Classics, Gold Rush: Five shows featuring championship matches from different promotions/eras. Saturday Night's Main Event, Championship Wrestling from Florida, WCW Thunder (wtf?), and Stampede!

Shorties are Jericho presenting shocking championship clashes. This sounds like a great month.

Though I could be confused with something else, the US title match between Luger and Bret Hart might be the match where Bret Hart TAPPED OUT to a weak half boston crab that Luger applied, causing me to hate WCW forever. I can't quite remember when this match happened or who was involved, but Bret Hart submitting to a half crab really pissed me off.

"Saturday Night's Main Event #31 - 11/14/92 on FOX (6.1) - featured a pre-taped introduction by Married with Children's Al Bundy"

I know that's probably a FOX thing, but that would be so awesome if that bumper made it on 24/7.

I could have sworn they aired the Al Bundy segment on an episode of Heat. It was one of those Best of Shows when they didnt do matches that week and it was a best of Saturday Night's Main Event. Before the show started they had a shot of Al Bundy on his couch. Either I'm visioning it from Heat or WWE TV 16 years ago but I really don't think I'd remember something like that from 16 years ago.

Right... Nitro never aired on Monday here so maybe I mixed my days up. I may also be confused with DDP's US title win, but that was also on Nitro.

Did that debut last week? No one mentioned it until you did now but I noticed it on WWE.com as something that was supposed to be there. I'm hoping when I get home I find that today's update includes the missing pieces of last week's.

Did Slamboree 2000 debut this week?

Loved the Film Room segment. It was just awesome to see a NWA vs WWF match with Harley Race (who was just plain awesome) and Superstar Graham at the height of his career. I'm not a fan of the way Florida used to tape their matches (it just takes you out of the action) and I wish we could have seen a complete match but this was pretty damn cool just the same.

Can't wait for Bockwinkel next month.

Yeah WWE.com finally updated their schedule and this was not the Slamboree week, so I guess it joins an already big update this week. I think June is a 5 week month so we'll probably be back to more spread out updates instead of the current schedule of "week 1 - everything possible in TV classics, Legends, Shorties, and something in Big Ones" / "week 2 - TNT and a house show".

Looks like June is a good month but because of the other TV shows they are airing this month then there is no Prime Time or TNT. I can't believe they are showing King of the Ring 94, and also that they are showing Boston 2-8-86 (AGAIN!). But the show that sticks out to me is the WWWF 3/6/79 show which I'm guessing is where the Valiants win the Tag Team belts which took place on that date to go with the Gold Rush title changes theme.

Some of those title matches look very interesting.

Stampede: This looks to be Mr. Sekigawa vs. Don Gagne. Sekigawa is better known for his run as Mr. Pogo in Japan. Gagne ended up in the WWF wrestling and managing as Frenchy Martin.

Mid-Atlantic: Paul Jones vs. Jack Brisco. Was Jones wrestling babyface yet?

Bockwinkel vs. Curt Hennig is listed. It would kick ungodly amounts of ass if that were the 60 minute New Year's Eve draw.

Once I saw that KotR '94 was omitted from the PYBO poll, I knew they were going to post it. Awesome. The last time I watched that show, I made sure not to catch Lawler vs. Piper. Now I have to, because I'm reviewing it. Next month's shows look really, really good.

I was skimming upcoming Raw and Nitro recaps to see what matches to expect and noted that there is no Raw on August 25th or September 1st (it was an hour show on Friday due to tennis). Since they've gone back to skipping non-compete weeks, it looks like we may be missing Arn Anderson's speech where he talks about his injury / approves of Hennig in the Horsemen.
