Would any WWE guys benefit from a move?

Guest bps "The Truth" 21

Yeah their isn't as much $...and there isn't nearly as much job security...

But I think a few people have benefited from TNA more than they would (or did) in the WWE.

Scott Hall- Personal problems cost him his job again...this time in the WWE. In TNA he only has to be on the road one day a week (Being on the road was one of the things that has been raised as a problem for Hall staying straight). For personal reasons...I think that TNA is good for Hall.

Jerry Lynn- The WWE had nothing for him. TNA gave him the chance to be a star. I'm sure the money from the WWE would be nice if they had something for him to do...but Lynn is (like Hall) a veteran who has been around a LONG time...and the travel is nill for TNA...and any other indy he works for his purely his own choice.

K-Krush- K-Kwick the rapping tag team partner of Road Dogg...no...the WWE didn't have much for him either. In TNA he has a good chance to break out.

Now...all those guys were let go by the WWE...and TNA has just been good for them.

What I want to know is...do you think anyone on the WWE roster would benefit from going to TNA?

Of course money and job security are draw backs...but there must be someone on that huge roster that could make a name for themselves in TNA, and can't in the WWE.

Thoughts?

i would say anyone in the hardcore division could benifit people like Justin Credible or Crash could benifit from not being jokes or not even there at least they would be exposed for their talent not just a lucky shot a 5 minute title reign then back into jobber obscurity

Rey Jr. - Although it looks like he's going to be used well, i bet Jerry could give him a hell of a better shot. But, at this point in Rey Jr's career it would be probably better for him to take the money ... and run.

Bob `Hardcore` Holly - I kind of like Holly, and i bet that Jerry could think of some angle that Holly could get over in. Holly is better than some and is insanely loyal. Stiff, but with a week to heal up in, i dont think that matters too much.

The Leviathan - Every fed needs a monster-esque character and Levi fits the fucking bill~!

Benoit, Gurrero, RVD, and Jericho should all stay in the WWE cuz that's where the cash is at and these guys arnt getting any younger.

If I had any faith in NWA succeeding I would say Jericho should jump ship he would be the lynchpin for years but I can see them surviving with the ppv format.

The first name that pops in my head when I consider the question is Chavo Guerrero Jr.

TNA would let him bust out all of his moves...give him time in his matches...and I think he could be either a big part of the X division...or break out and become a big star in his own right.

Raven.

Even though he IS a bit old (sorry, Raven fans, he's legit 40 or close to it), I still think he has enough in him for one more run.

They'd have to market him right, though. His image & credibility has been very tarnished from being jobbed out so much in the WWE. But I can imagine him having one last, good run in the NWA.

Tajiri is so under used in ability in WWE that TNA would be good for him, especially in the X-Division.

Justin Credible would have nice matches against Malice in my opinion (the ECW Credible that is).

Sean O'Haire would do so much better in TNA as he would be able to develop a character and actually get to shine.

And finally, Batista would be a nice foil for Shamrock!!!!

Ok well I'll put it like this.....If TNA can run for another 6 months, turn profits and prove to keep the workers happy enough to show some loyalty, then I will honestly say that a LOT of the WWE roster could benefit from getting as far away from Vince as possible. I hate to tie ECW into this, but look at how Vince's garbage turned into ECW's treasure, only to be swallowed back up by Vince and exploited until it failed back in WWE.

I think TNA week 4 was perhaps as a whole, the best North American show I have seen this year. And don't reply by telling me about obscure indys because you know there is no way for me to access them.

If anyone will benefit, it won't be the bigger names that have been mentioned, but it will be the developmental talent that gets cut/has been cut.

Ron Waterman I feel will almost definetly get signed. He's a noticeable free agent, has enough experience, and with his UFC background, you know he'll be billed as a foil/equal to Shamrock.

But if I had to pick someone who's "lost in the shuffle" right now, most of the usual suspects pop up in my head. Val Venis, Hardcore Holly, Albert, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer, Crash...

I've said it before though...while these guys may benefit from an NWA run to inject some life into their careers, it would be very similar to what the WWE is doing by signing every big name that they can find. The shock value and short term would be great, but it may not be as beneficial in the long run. They should just keep to developing new stars, because with the X Division, and Brian Christopher and K Krush's work, it appears to be working well for them.

Steve Fucking Austin...

He ain't retired kids...

He REALLY doesn't like how he was treated in the WWE, so him going to the NWA would benefit him AND the product.

It's funny...cause I think Austin would srok with JJ before he EVER worked with Eric Bischoff again.

"I think TNA week 4 was perhaps as a whole, the best North American show I have seen this year. "

I agree completley. It all made sense...all the matches were entertaining, 2 of them were great...it doesn't get much better than that.

I'd definatly say FUNAKI~! would do much better in NWA TNA. He's easily as good as any other lightweight in the states now and if he got a good push in a cruiser division he could get over like a madman. Hell, he was over saying "Indeed." I'm salivating over the thought of Lynn/Funaki and Low Ki/Funaki. That can't be good for the keyboard.

Also Kidman comes to mind for the same reasons. Except I'd rather see the Styles/Kidman spotfest. This guy is getting shit on in WWE and if I was him I'd save up some money and jump ship ASAP.

If I was Jericho I'd go to NWA TNA also right after my contract expired. Jericho/Jarrett, Jericho/Shamrock and Jericho/Hall could all be pretty good. Plus he would bring alot of star power and get treated with some fucking respect. If NWA went under he could always sail the ocean blue over to Japan.

I think Justin Credible would benefit the most. Jerry Lynn and Credible had a great feud while in ECW. I can still remember one of the most awesome finishes to a match with Credible hiting a piledriver off the top rop on JL. It was breathtaking.

I thought of two more workers as I was watching Smackdown tonight: Bob Holly & Val Venis.

First off, Bob Holly. I'm no big fan of the guy, but he's not a *terrible* worker. And realistically, his roughneck hardass gimmick could go over very well in the NWA, especially with the primarily southern crowd. Bob wouldn't be wowing anyone with X-division quality matches, but he could be a solid midcard talent if they booked him right.

And Val Venis. Venis is a guy just waiting to break out into the top. He's young, he's talented, he's marketable, he has an ability to connect with the crowd....in the WWE he's being wasted. They're trying to use him to shore up the tag division, and that's probably the best place for him at this time. BUT, in the NWA, I totally feel he would fit right in there at the top of the card. He could come in instantly as a hot young face, and I think it would work. Push him as the new blood (even though he's a veteran by now). It'd work, I honestly believe it would.

Rikishi, Hugh Morrus, Albert, The Godfather, Justin Credible, Crash Holly, The Big Bossman, Shannon Moore, Sho Funaki, Faarooq, Mark Henry, Shawn Stasiak, D-Lo Brown. Most of the undercard would benefit because NWA TNA takes people like Brian Lawler and K-Krush and turns them into main eventers. I honestly think Vince should suggest to these guys that they leave for NWA. That way the competition is more fun and the roster has less dead weight. But Vince is too greedy to take a chance and have a little fun.

GREAT topic, by the way.

The Hurricane would be better off in NWA TNA.

Val Venis - I just think this guy has star written all over him. Just unfortunate that he got painted with the porn star gimmick that he can't seem to shake off.

I think he is good on the mic and could be benificial to NWA as a face or a heel.

Others that would benefit - Dlo, Crash, Hugh Morrus, Hardcore Holly.

There is NO point them signing guys like Godfather, Farroq or Boss Man unless they signed them to put over the stars they are trying to make ie Malice, Lawler and Krush.

Bull Buchanan or Kanyon would be good for business too.

I think these guys would be much better off in NWA-TNA, and the NWA-TNA would be much better of with them too.

Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Hurricane Helms

Tajiri

Billy Kidman

Deacon Batista

Val Venis

Sure, the NWA-TNA wont start beating the Raw ratings, but I think with these stars added under the NWA-TNA belt, they'll be getting off to a nice start for the race after the WWE.

Hopefully we'll see Mike Sanders make a Big Splash in NWA:TNA now.

I think it's quite possible Albert, Bossman, and Mark Henry will stink up any ring they go into. Farooq is kind of long in the tooth and I don't know how well he'd survive with the stiffer wrestling. Shannon Moore has just started appearing on TV so it's too early to tell yet IMO.

However, I agree with the others (especially D-Lo) and would like to add Bubba Dudley, Tommy Dreamer, Steven Richards, and Rico.

I can see Sanders showing up.

I DEFINITELY see EZ Money being signed. He's almost a no-brainer for their X-Division. Look how over he got in just a month in WCW. Jeff Jarrett was there; as part of management, I got to figure he sees dollar signs when he looks at Money.

*honks wacky horn* Sorry about the bad pun.

I'd like for Mike Awesome to go to NWA and tear it up there. He isn't going to get much respect in the WWE after his first few mishaps and his big injury. He should seriously be in the upper-card and I think the NWA would push him hard. Tons of talent,.

I dunno, Awesome has been a bit lacklustre for a while now, but if he could hit his ECW heights again I'd be pleased to see him main event anywhere.

NWA TNA obviously has a less restrictive style but majority of the WWE Wrestlers are now TRADEMARK Products and would have to readjust to the smaller theater of NWA TNA.

Most wouldn't choose to do that. because they believe their careers are at the peak just being in WWE. If the NWA TNA does get a stable TV deal with same amount of shows as WWE does, then there is more incentive for people to leave after contracts go out. same kind of exposure.

There are a slew of wrestlers I feel could make a major impact in the NWA. Some have been mentioned but a few really stand out. While I love the X-Division and its potential, I think they need to be careful about which workers would be allowed in the division. That's why I have no objection in including guys like Tajiri or even the hurricane. UNfortunately, many of todays "cruisers" are extremely vanilla and don't stand out from the rest of the pack.

I could see Venis going to the NWA. I think his mic delivery and skills could get him over.

One name that hasn't been mentioned is RVD. While he may be a WWE 'star', i see no commitment from the fed in elevating him beyond his current status. Onee of the most over guys in the last 4 years in the company and he's used as a stepping stone for an unproven commodity. Personally, I would pay $10 a week to see RVD take center stage.

As an aside BPS, i like the petition idea and once I return from vacation I will try and help spread the word to as many websites and message boards as possible in signing it. I was #14 and that's a shame considering we have been topping over 200 posters at one time on Monday nights. Personally, I have only watched one full WWF show since KOR (Bischoff's return) and I am saddened by the mediocre and watered-down product offered by the fed!
