With Marvin's my last pick I'll go with:
(IMG:http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/934/Tillman_90_cal.jpg)

Chris Tillman, P, Baltimore

And I'm done. This was really hard without a $10 magazine and having to draft on time and what not but somehow I did it.

Great, 3 picks left! We should be done within the next 24 hours.

I'll enter all the league data in Friday night and we'll be good to go!

Nice drafting everyone (pending JHawk's last pick). I think it was easier this year because we didn't have the Japan series hanging over our heads, but well done nonetheless.

OH FUCK ME YOU'RE KIDDING

I was going to take him with my last pick but since he hadn't appeared in the FA pool yet, I didn't take the risk and now I pay the price. (IMG:http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

If you were targetting him, I should've drafted him anyways since you're above me in the waiver wire priority. Fuck Fuck Fuck.

QUOTE (alkeiper @ Mar 12 2009, 09:14 PM) *
SP Brian Matusz

Oooooohhhh......OK, but I think you're looking at stashing him on your bench for a season minimum, possibly up to two. A September call-up is possible but he's pitched zero innings in the O's system thus far and the strategy is to not rush the prospects which we have done to peril in the past. Heck, Weiters was raking it all last season and they diligently kept him down and in fact he's raking again in ST, yet they're insistent he's in the minors until May.
It wouldn't shock me if you don't get any stats out of Matusz until mid-2010 as it's likely he's at AA all 2009 and they'll likely take the same approach of giving him a couple months at AAA (and delay his service/arbitration clock) with a later 2010 call up.

Just saying. (IMG:http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I wanted to take Stephen Strasburg, but I figured that was really pushing the limits of stashing a player on the bench.

I double checked first to see which players were in the Yahoo players list. Strasburg I doubt would be, thus ineligible yet.

I was being facetious when I said I wanted to draft Strasburg, but technically, he could get drafted this summer and get a September call-up. Does that make him draft eligible for fantasy, or do we have to wait until he's in Yahoo's pool?

If he's not in the player pool, he can't be on your team. You can't hold an empty roster space for a player not in the pool.

Alright, the draft results are entered.

Everything should be correct.

If anyone is in need of a second baseman I would consider offers for Brandon Phillips

Finally i have an elite first baseman, for the first time since i originally had Tex approximately half a decade ago. I just hope he doesn't immediately turn to crap like Travis Hafner did when i traded for him.
