EWR 3.0 Challenge

Recommended Posts

Guest Lightning Flik

Hello everybody~!

*waits the everyone to reply with "Hello Lightning Flik"*

So anyways, it's late, I'm in pain (even though I'm rehasing this from the old thread, I just had split my baby toe's nail in half), and I'm thinking to myself. "God, I'm hurt, I'm sore, and frankly I'm bored witless. I need something to do. Well, I'll go play EWR... But oh wait... I need some challenge to it... OH I KNOW~!"

Thusly, I'm opening up the EWR 3.0 Challenge~! Hollywood Spike Jenkins and friends did the last one, but I'm doing this one, so anywoo, by winning, you'll receive the bragging rights of being TSMs best booker until the next tourney. And thusly, everyone in TSM will have to listen to your word when you speak.

...ok, I'm just making that last part up. You just get to claim to be the best booker. That's all.

Now, anyone who wants to play can join. I need at least ten people to start this off.

You can join in at anytime, until the in game half way point of November 1st 2003, but you'll start out at the beginning and have to catch up. EWR 3.0 Challenge will begin this Saturday.

Now we'll get onto the rules, so you understand how to play the EWR 3.0 Challenge~!

Basic Rules of the EWR Challenge

1) Create A New Federation - Give it a name.

2) Make Your Federation A Regional Level Fed - Thusly you ain't be big enough to do a whole hell of a lot.

3) Set Your Public Image to 70 - You'll start at that PI. Use your booking skills to raise that PI even more, Luke. Or screw yourselves into the ground for all I care.

4) Set Your Production Level to 50 - Gotta raise it on your own, sweet cheeks. With your own cash as well. (Can be changed as soon as real game begins)

5) Set Your Cash to $3,000,000 - Same as last time. That's all you get from the bank.

6) Set Your Merchandise at 25 - You wanna raise it that's up to you. (Can be changed as soon as real game begins)

7) Set Your Advertisement at 30 - This is just to make it even for everyone. You probably wanna change that. (Can be changed as soon as real game begins)

8) Set Your Risk Level at 75 - This is just to make it even for everyone. You probably wanna change that. (Can be changed as soon as real game begins)

9) You'll Have No Developmental Territory or Training Camp - Want them? Gotta pay for them yourself. (Can be changed as soon as real game begins)

10) Give Yourself One Late Evening TV Show On Regional Network - Unlike in the original challenge, in EWR 3.0 Challenge~! you'll be granted a single late evening TV show on Regional Network. But it'll be on Tuesday. Yes, the day is specific. Everyone else will have there's on Tuesday. You will too. Oh, and you can change it as soon as game starts. Also will be allowed to hunt for new tv deals from day one.

11) You Will Have No Roster To Start Off With - You've gotta hire guys from scratch. Stick to hiring newbies as they'll come work cheap and also you'll also tend to lose them less easily. Also you can not have guys from the WWE like Booker T or Chris Benoit suddenly be in your fed at the start. Doesn't happen. Also please post your starting roster so everyone can see what the competition is using. Oh and stealing happens right away. Wanna get all-star Jay Lethal right away, go for it (and good luck).

12) Every Real Week, You Will Post up a month of EWR 3.0 Challenge - Three months was a little hard on everyone (especially those who had two shows in Cult Level), so I'm toning it down a bit and just asking for a month's worth. They'll be posted in this folder. (The Week Of Play Begins Every Sunday)

13) You Can't Edit Any Other Feds, Workers, Etc. - No touchy to anything else.

14) When Beginning A Game Difficulty Will Be On Hard - That's to add some challenge.

15) The Market Must Be In A Boom - If it's not, restart your game.

16) Should you wish to create a diary out of this, you may. However it is not necessary. All that is required is provided in this format below:

Workers: (Who is all involved)

Segment: (Singles Match, Interview, Backstage Sneak Attack, etc.)

Description: (What happened)

Quality: [Overall (Crowd Reaction/In Ring)]

Notes: (So and so got heat, lost head, etc.)

17) The actual in game starting date will be May 1st, 2003. The Challenge will run for one full year, till April 30th, 2004.Those are the basic rules.

Now here comes the point of this Challenge. The point of this Challenge is to be the best Challenge fed out there. How do you do that? Simple. Gain enough points in the sub rankings to add up to your overall ranking. How do you gain points in the sub rankings? Well, just read on to find out.

Rankings

Rankings That Will Be Followed:

Note: Top 5 rankings to gain points is as follows - 20 for 1st, 15 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, 5 for 4th, and 1 for 5th. Rankings have been randomly done up below.

1) Overall - Just a tally of points

2) Top 5 Segment (In Game Monthly) - People with the top 5 highest overall quality gets that added to their score. Segments mean match or angle.

3) Top 5 Matches (In Game Monthly) - People with the top 5 highest overall quality gets that added to their score.

4) Top 5 Angles (In Game Monthly) - People with the top 5 highest overall quality gets that added to their score.

5) Top 5 TV Show (In Game Weekly) Ratings - People with the top 5 highest overall quality gets that added to their score.

6) Top 5 Monthly Event (In Game Yearly) Ratings - People with the top 5 highest overall quality gets that added to their score.

7) Top 5 Public Image (In Game Yearly) - This one is a little different as whoever makes the Top 5 with their PI, gain the points allocated from the PI gain (PI of 70 in Regional = 0). Thusly, you score points if you make the Top 5. If you don't make the top five, you don't gain any points. Simple as that.

8) Top 5 Belt Image (In Game Yearly) - People with the top 5 highest belt quality in that particular divison will receive those points towards their score.

8a) Main Event Belt - The title everyone wants to hold. This is in a class of its own for justly the right reason.

8b) Tag Titles - The tag titles. There will be a category for these for those who wish to put on tag matches for them.

8c) Secondary Titles - Every other singles title ends up in this category. That's right. That means you could have 3 other singles titles in this category and they can all qualify towards the Top 3. The downside? Having too many singles titles might not allow you to promote all of them and thusly no image works.

Also, yearly means that should say, your monthly event still be better than anything produced for say the month of June, then your monthly even still retains its rankings

The current federations that will be particpating in this Challenge are below. Please let me reaffirm that should anyone wish to join at anytime, they can do so, up until half way point, November 1st, 2003, of the Challenge. Just inform me before hand. No names will be attached with ANY federation because you will know who is who when their first show is post. Besides, it makes you have to read it anyways to found out what the competition is doing.

The Competition

Emerald Coast Wrestling Federation (ECWF) - TV Show: ECWF Annihilation

Mid-West Wrestling Coalition (MWWC) - TV Show: Firepower

Front Line Wrestling (FLW) - TV Show: Envious

Really Underrated League of Excitement (RULE) - TV Show: RULE Presents Justice

Maple Leaf Wrestling Federation (MLWF) - TV Show: MLWF TV

new world order (nWo) - TV Show: Black Out

World Championship Federation (WCF) - TV Show: Battlefield

Ring Generals Alliance (RGA) - TV Show: Voltage

Championship Pro Wrestling (CPW) - TV Show: Outbreak

Combat Zone Ballet (CZB) - TV Show: Type Name Here

British Professional Wrestling (BPW) - TV Show: Mayhem

Bronx Wrestling Federation (BWF) - TV Show: Bronx Bombs

I had started out with 22 people who originally stated that they were in all the way, and only know of one backing out. So if the other 6 people could contact me and confirm if they are in or out, it would be appreciated. You don't have too, but it would make life easier for me. I'll add your name to the list. Also please note that you will need to look no further than the second post of this thread to find the weekly update to the rankings.

Well, with that said, could everyone please post up their rosters, their belts, and optionally a little statement about their company. Thank you.

Enjoy the contest and may the best booker win.

Quick question. Do we have to hire our own staff, or are we aloud to add them via the file editor?

ChUnK!

Staff must be hired as well during the game.

I give up. After two months I still didn't have a TV deal and after trying to start up twice I kept forgetting some of the rules.

I'm not rehiring for a third time. I suck at this.

MWWC Firepower

Tuesday May 6th

Hosts: Tony Schiavone and Rob Bitterman

MWWC Commissioner Bob Backlund comes out to welcome everyone to the opening installment of Firepower. He states that the Mid-Western Wrestling Coalition is a collection of independent promoters from the Mid-West determined to bring back the territorial days of wrestling. Not only that, but they are committed to traditional wrestling, interviews and angles that appeal to a large gamut of individuals. To kick things off, all four MWWC titles will be awarded tonight through a series of four-way elimination matches.

Segment Rating 67%

Bob Backlund debuted his new gimmick (authority figure) and it got a negative response. However, Backlund still gained overness from the segment.

William Alfonso (aka Fonzie) leads a group of men out to the ring. He is here in the MWWC to prove that all they stand for is wrong. Traditional wrestling and wrestling territories are dead. Not that American wrestling was much to begin with, but it’s even less now. He has formed a stable of the most feared wrestlers from around the globe: from Japan, the Yung Dragaons of Kay Hayashi and Jimmy Yang, from Germany, Blitzkrieg and from Italy, the precision killing machine, Jindrak! (I know the nationalities don’t all match up, but it’s the angle I’m running, use your imagination.) The Axis Powers are going to make their presence felt tonight, as one of them will walk out of the building as the first ever MWWC Coalition Champion!

Segment Rating: 80%

William Alfonso debuted his new gimmick (the brain), it got a negative response. Jindrak debuted his new gimmick. Kaz Hayashi debuted his new gimmick, it got a positive response. William Alfonso gained overness from this segment.

Ultimo turns...and falls for the distraction! Kaz Hayashi attacks Ultimo from behind! Ultimo Dragon can barely stand. Here it comes - Kaz Driver. 1....2...3, it's finished. I'll give it a **1\2 rating.

Winner: Kaz Hayahsi

JT Smith believes that he’s being pushed too far up the card, as the fans appear to be resenting him.

PI has dropped to 69%

Further negotiations with the regional network have moved Firepower to a prime time slot.

Sophie is satisfied with all champions, except for thinking that Orlando Jordan is too good for the Cruiserweight belt and that it should be given to Austin Lee. (actually that was my plan)

Thursday May 8th

William Alfonzo was involved in a backstage fight. I ignored it.

With him out of the way, the drag Ashe to the outside...and promptly put him straight through the announcer's table with a double slam! The Bronco Busters have destroyed New Breed! I'll give a 1\2 star rating.

Winner: New Breed

Overall Rating: 46%

Crowd Reaction: 20%

Match Quality: 73%

Bruno Sassi debuted his new gimmick, it got a positive response. Slick Rick Ricardo debuted his new gimmick (ravishing), it got a negative response.

Dutch Mantel stands on the ramp with a mic in his hand and waits for the Bronco Busters to come to him. He challenges the New Breed to a match next week with the Bronco Busters. He’s a ten times better manager than Alicia, who’s nothing but standard T&A in his book and his guys are going to prove it by wiping her pretty boys off the face of the planet. Mantel is what a real manager should be, not her.

Segment Rating: 61%

Dutch Mantell gained overness from this segment. Parker Houston gained overness from this segment. Frankie Armadillo gained overness from this segment.

Orlando Jordan vs Austin Lee (For The Mid-Western Cruiserweight Title) : Weak bodyslam on Lee by Jordan. Orlando Jordan DDTs Lee, although it was hardly executed with pin-point precision. Lee whips Orlando Jordan into the ropes. Blitzkrieg jumps onto the apron with the chair! Collision between Blitzkrieg, Jordan, and the chair! Orlando Jordan staggers back into a roll up! 1...2...3! It's over! Bland match, but i'll give it a * rating for not being too bad.

Winner and new champion: Austin Lee

Overall Rating: 55%

Crowd Reaction: 41%

Match Quality: 69%

Austin Lee gained overness from this match. The Mid-Western Cruiserweight title has gained in image.

Orlando Jordan stays in the ring after the other men leave and asks for a microphone. He has no problem with Austin Lee beating him for the Mid-Western Cruiserweight Champion, he’s a fine competitor who fought a good match. His problem is with Blitzkrieg being a crybaby about Jordan beating him for the title in the finals of the four-way match last week. If Blitzkrieg wants a piece of him, then he can bite it off in this very ring next week!

Segment Rating: 66%

Orlando Jordan gained overness from this segment. Blitzkrieg gained overness from this segment.

Alicia is in the back with Mike Barton. First of all, she accepts the match next week on behalf of the New Breed against the Bronco Busters. She resents the fact that Mantel thinks she’s worthless, not just because she’s a woman, but because she’s an attractive woman. Her wrestling knowledge and sense is just as good as his if not better, especially after she has the new Coalition Champion as her charge. Mike Barton is squaring off with Kaz Hayashi for the title tonight. Barton backs up Alicia as a quality manager and then chews out Hayashi and Alfonso. He’s wrestled extensively in Japan, knows how good the people are there and is sick at his stomach over the bad name Alfonso and the Yung Dragons are giving them. He will take the belt and put the Axis Powers down tonight.

Segment Rating: 85%

Alicia gained overness from this segment. Mike Barton gained overness from this segment.

Casey and Michaels vs JT \ LeRoux (For The Coalition Tag Championship Titles) : Chris Michaels scores with a back heel kick on LeRoux. Chris Michaels hits a rolling kick on LeRoux. There's a two count on the pin. Tag to Sean Casey. Casey and Michaels whip LeRoux into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Hooks the leg for a two count. Second rope flying axe handle, LeRoux goes down. LeRoux counters a sleeper hold by turning it into a jaw breaker. Super kick by Lash LeRoux. There's a two count on the pin. Tag to JT Smith. JT Smith hits a bulldog off the ropes. Pinfall attempt gets a 2.9999. Big kick from JT. Casey blocks the suplex attempt. JT takes a flying neckbreaker from Sean Casey. Tag between Sean Casey and Chris Michaels. Standing leg lariat by Chris Michaels on JT. Tag between JT Smith and Lash LeRoux. Chris Michaels hits a rolling kick on LeRoux. JT Smith scoops up Michaels for a slam, then turns....but Lash LeRoux accidentally gets hit in the face with the raised legs of Michaels, and it's a Survivor Series 5 flashback moment. Chris Michaels floors Lash LeRoux. Here it comes...Sharpshooter! Lash LeRoux taps! JT and LeRoux remain in the ring. Lash LeRoux does not look happy at losing. JT Smith goes to leave, but gets pulled back in by LeRoux. Tensions seem to be rising between these two. I'm going to give this a ** rating because i'm in a generous mood.

Winners: Casey and Michaels

Overall Rating: 62%

Crowd Reaction: 48%

Match Quality: 76%

The Coalition Tag Championship Titles have gained in image.

Williams Alfonso is in the back with Kaz Hayashi. He puts Kaz over as the new Coalition Champion and being the first title holder goes a long way to prove his point that the Axis powers are superior to the ‘traditional brand’ of American wrestling the MWWC supposedly stands for. Mike Barton might have wrestled extensively in Japan, but that’s because he couldn’t cut it in America. He went over to Japan, because he thought it would be easier, but he was wrong and that’s why he’s back in America wrestling. The Yung Dragons are the perfect example of Japanese heritage, while Barton is a perfect example of American heritage; fat, lazy and stupid.

Segment Rating: 69%

Ultimo Dragon vs Jimmy Yang : Ultimo hits a massive spinning kick to the jaw. Ultimo hits a wicked chop that echoes through the building. Ultimo hits a dropkick on Jimmy Yang. Flying elbow from Ultimo Dragon. Yang reverses a waistlock. Yang hits a dropkick on Ultimo Dragon. Flying cross body off the top rope! Even Steamboat would have applauded the execution on that. Cover for a two count. Ultimo Dragon takes the advantage after a i-block-your-punch-you-don't-block-mine routine. Flying cross body off the top rope! I'll give a 0.8 on the Steamboat scale for that effort. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tiger suplex on Yang, right from out of the Misawa playbook. Cover, but there's a last second kick-out. Jimmy Yang comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Kick from Jimmy Yang to the leg. Ultimo drops out the back of a Jimmy Yang bodyslam attempt. Yang takes a flying neckbreaker from Ultimo Dragon. Jimmy Yang gets knocked to the ground by Ultimo. Here it comes...Dragon Sleeper! Jimmy Yang taps! Jimmy Yang goes nuts, screaming and yelling at everyone within earshot. This gets a **3\4 rating. Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling.

Winner: Ultimo Dragon

Overall Rating: 73%

Crowd Reaction: 60%

Match Quality: 87%

Axis Powers hype video plays, highlighting Kaz Hayashi as the first MWWC Coalition Champion. Mostly it shows them hitting big moves on jobbers interspersed with fascist propaganda like black and white shots of the individual members in regal poses with grand music playing behind them.

Segment Rating: 67%

Kaz Hayashi vs Mike Barton (For The Coalition Championship Title) : Barton walks into a high dropkick from Kaz Hayashi. Kick from Kaz Hayashi to the leg. Kaz Hayashi hits a rolling kick on Barton. Legsweep out of Nowhere. Where is Nowhere, and why do moves keep coming out of there? Does it have a factory? Barton kicks Kaz Hayashi in the gut to reverse the momentum. Fallaway slam by Mike Barton. Massive backbreaker, Kaz got planted. Early reports indicate that the back was *not* actually broken, so the move's name should actually be backhurter. There's a two count on the pin. Kaz Hayashi takes the advantage after a i-block-your-punch-you-don't-block-mine routine. Flying cross body off the top rope! I'll give a 0.8 on the Steamboat scale for that effort. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tornado DDT from Kaz Hayashi, Barton got planted. Pin : 1 - 2 - 2.9999999. Barton reverses a waistlock. Barton bodyslams Kaz Hayashi. Kaz Hayashi comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Barton takes a flying neckbreaker from Kaz Hayashi. Jimmy Yang comes running down the aisle with a chair! Kaz whips Mike Barton into the ropes. Yang jumps onto the apron with the chair! Collision between Yang, Barton, and the chair! Mike Barton staggers back into a roll up! 1...2...3! It's over! Yung Dragons are beating down on Mike Barton! The music of Ultimo Dragon hits, and he comes running down the aisle into the ring. Kaz and Yang bail out of the ring, leaving Mike Barton down in the ring. Ultimo Dragon may have saved Mike Barton from a brutal beating. I'll give it a **1\2 rating.

Winner: Kaz Hayashi

Overall Rating: 69%

Crowd Reaction: 59%

Match Quality: 74%

The Coalition Championship title has gained in image.

Bob Backlund comes out from the back and tells the form men in and around the ring to break it up. That’s not how things are down around here in the MWWC. If they want to go at it, they can do it next week in a tag match. All four men nod their heads, signally that they accept and continue to jaw at each other until the show ends.

Jimmy Yang gained overness from this segment.
