Do you think they changed the Brock-berg finish?

I was sitting back here wondering, It was EXACTLY a few days ago we all naturally assumed That Brock would beat Goldberg at WMXX. Naturally, the biggest wrestling story since WWE Brought WCW and WWF Changed It's Name happened when Brock Lesnar was reported to have "quit" the company. Hell broke loose on the Internet.

Then Tonight, the biggest moment of the IWC's existance when Brock Lesnar along with Goldberg was SOUNDLY booed out the building and they put up one of the most unusual environments in wrestling history, almost similar to Montreal.

The big surprise for me was that Goldberg went over...I was still expecting even though Lesnar was leaving that Vince would have His creation go over Turner's...apprently I was wrong.

Does anyone else believe Vince held hostility towards Brock for leaving after all he did for him that he decided to change the finish even at the risk of allowing a WCW Creation go over at the biggest stage just as HE was about to leave as well...Or perhaps was it was done to prevent a potential riot of sorts for Lesnar going over, it was clear the fans were more vocal about Lesnar's departure then they were of Goldberg's...We all saw Austin stunning each men to close the match off but there is NO question that the stunner on Brock had a somewhat emotional feel to it as if Austin represented the ENTIRE roster in the back by saying "FUCK YOU!" to Brock and his selfish actions...

I think the stunner wasn't emotional so much as the stomping of Lesnar out of the ring. That's where I think the real anger came out.

I meant the whole sequence in general...although Austin shouldn't be one to going "FUCK YOU!" after all...we know what's austin past is...

I think there obviously was a change due to Brock leaving. Why would WWE have Goldberg, a guy leaving the company the next night, go over their pet project (before the Brock leaving thing happened)?

well...obviously they had to change some of it but What I was saying was...Did they Job Lesnar out to prevent a public outcry or as a stern "fuck you" to him...

To be honest, Vince didn't need to change anything. He would of surely known that New York would of been behind him 100% all the way, and would of slaughtered Lesnar & Goldberg regardless of what happend.

I think Vince was just annoyed with the way it went down and how it screwed their plans. With Goldberg, Vicne knew months in advance that it was most likely it, and it was simply 'Berg's contract running out and no renewing. with Lesner it was this sudden thing which threw all their plans to hell and they thought Brock was gonna be there for years to come.. or something. I dont know.

If Brock wasn't leaving, he wouldn't have lost, IMO.

Unless they're setting up "one last match" for Austin...him and Lesnar at Summerslam.

But, according to WWE.com...Lesnar is gone. For now.

If Brock was smart, he would have kept it a secret until after Mania so he'd get the high profile win.

The match was brutally boring and you could see that Brock was especially razzled by the response. I'd bet that WWE would rather not have said anything about him leaving but JR was probably forced to when the crowd responded that way. Anyways, kudos to the MSG crowd for telling Brock the business and telling Goldberg exactly how much he means to wrestling history. Hey you're in NYC, you aint gonna get off the hook easily.

The match was one of the most interesting and mind-blowing things that I have ever seen in my life. I itterally could not speak after, and I certainly didn't pay any attention to the SmackDown Tag and the Women's match, because I was too busy discussing the previous events with my friend!

I was just surprised as to how 'smart' the crowd actually was. I was in utter disbelief.

Here's my theory on the "smart crowd" that so heavily booed Brock and Goldberg and was totally into Benoit, Eddy and Angle...

Wrestlemania tickets are not only hard to get, theyre more expensive than regular tickets too. So, the fans that buy tickets to Wrestlemania are by and large big fans. They were aware enough to get the tickets quickly and didn't mind the high price tag. Casual fans by and large wouldn't pay the high cost or be prevy enough to even get the tickets before they sold out. Therefore your MSG crowd consistented of mostly die hard, life long fans, who are by and large smarter than the casual everyday fans and that explains the reactions.

This is how I think it went. I have no factual basis for this, but it's the only thing that makes sense as I doubt Vince wanted to actually have a bad match at the show:

Lesnar assumed he was going to win.

Then he left with little ahead knowledge.

In order to salvage the situation and express his displaeasure, Vince books Goldberg to win.

Goldberg is unhappy with how he's been portrayed as having to be able to actually sell other peoples' offense and shit. Goldberg has no intention to come back unless they pay more money than they want to.

Agent tells Brock and Berg, "Hey, you and you have a match, and you *points at Berg* get the pin."

Lesnar is angry at being jobbed. Goldberg is angry for not being superhuman. They both want to leave.

And so, they agree to stick it to Vince by having the shittiest match possible right in the middle of McMahon's big show.

Berg and Lesnar proceed to stink up the ring. Austin just goes with it and then follows the script, perhaps throws in the ramp finger just because.

Vince comes out to apologize and cool the crowds down by talking about how it wouldn't be without you that we'd blah blah blah.

That is a pretty sound theory. But is it me, or does it look like Brock completely forgets anything and everything that is supposed to go on during the match when the 'YOU SOLD OUT' and "GOODBYE' chants start?

Nah, they were calling their spots for the match.

Brock: side headlock

Goldberg: I'll run into the post

Brock: then spear me and I'll kick out and F5

Goldberg: I'll kickout you spear me and miss then Jackhammer

......................... they just talked really really slowly.

How exactly did Brock sell out? He isn't guaranteed to make an NFL roster, let alone 5-6 million a year. A better chant would of been something like "pussey", or "chickenshit".
