Guest Rrrsh

Someone needs to start a secondary league with everyone who is on the waiting list. Its Mid Febuary and we have LOTS of interest. Go with a 20 man league and a 12 man league, both keeper.

I'll GM it, if no one wants too. I am a Yahoo Fantasy vet with plently of private league I get involved in. I am one of the guys who started the Hockey one, fyi.

Al, I am saying we do a second keeper league, as there are upwards to 30 people who want to enter. It enough for a bigger and smaller league

OK, the league is filled. From here on we'll be discussing what rules/stats to use.

I think it's a great idea to start another league for anyone who didn't make this one, but please create another thread for it so we don't get confused.

OK, first off as mentioned the # of teams has been expanded from 18 to the maximum of 20.

Returning from last season:

MJ Styles- Rockbirds

Wart- Wart’s Wackos

iggymcfly- Cranky Old Men

treble- Brockvegas Posse

Marvinsalunatic- NuclearChinlocks

Cartman- Pawtucket Patriots

Colluden Hastings- Landfall Jacobites

Cena's Writer- Infinite93Intensity

Bravesfan- Heavy Lumber

Bored- Rebels of Oakland

Will Scarlet- Will Scarlet

thepinjockey- Serenity

Razaztec- Midcard 4 Life

Cuban Linx- Scott Boras Allstars

New to the league:

jWpeer- jwpeer - KnklBl4Life

Deep_Thought- Dangerous by Design

Canadian Chris- Team Canada

Krankor- Random Heros

Kingofthe909- Kings of Crunk

Stephan Joseph- John Galt Express

Leaving the league from last year:

LightningFlik- left TSM

alkeiper- declined invitation, lack of time

HarleyQuinn- declined invitation

SmellTheRatings!!!- left TSM

Before we decide on which stats to use, draft time, etc. I want to establish what settings we'll use for the league. At the end of the season, these can be changed if a majority of players wish them to be, but what we establish now will be used for the season. So, all players are welcome to give their response to the following questionaire:

1. Head to Head or Rotisserie?

2. Max on player aquisitions/trades for season? (if yes, how many?)

3. Time managers have to protest pending trades? (No or yes and # of days)

4. Trade deadline? (if yes, use July 30, Aug 6, Aug 13, Aug 20 or Aug 27?)

5. Time players are on waivers (days or no waivers)

6. Use "can't cut list"?

7. Trades reviews by commisioner or league votes?

8. After draft, all unclaimed players free agents or waivers?

9. Minimum innings pitched per week? (if yes how many)

10. Roster changes weekly or daily?

Since I am a member of the league as well, I will give my votes:

1. H2H

2. No

3. 2 days

4. yes, July 30

5. 2 days

6. No

7. commisioner

8. waivers

9. No

10. weekly

1. Head to Head or Rotisserie?

Don't really care either way. If I am a necessary vote, I'll go Rotisserie.

2. Max on player aquisitions/trades for season? (if yes, how many?)

no

3. Time managers have to protest pending trades? (No or yes and # of days)

yes, 2 days

4. Trade deadline? (if yes, use July 30, Aug 6, Aug 13, Aug 20 or Aug 27?)

yes, Aug 6th

5. Time players are on waivers (days or no waivers)

2 days

6. Use "can't cut list"?

no

7. Trades reviews by commisioner or league votes?

league votes, on the condition that those who vote no voice their reasons. No voting no, then keeping quiet unless a deal is obviously just for the sake of being retarded (Johan Santana for Ryan Franklin)

8. After draft, all unclaimed players free agents or waivers?

waivers

9. Minimum innings pitched per week? (if yes how many)

yes, 4IP/pitcher slot, ex.7 pitchers = 28 IP. This gives some leeway if you want a 3rd RP or even a 4th if you have some innings eaters up front while still avoiding reliever hoarding.

10. Roster changes weekly or daily?

weekly

As Im helping write the tsm fantasy baseball article, id love to know (AFTER THE DRAFT) peoples draft strategy

1. Head to Head or Rotisserie?

H2H...rewards good management because if your start sucks, youre out in rotisserie, but can come back in H2H...plus more activity

2. Max on player aquisitions/trades for season? (if yes, how many?)

No max on trades, yes we should have a max on FA acquisitions (I would say 50)

3. Time managers have to protest pending trades? (No or yes and # of days) 2 days

4. Trade deadline? (if yes, use July 30, Aug 6, Aug 13, Aug 20 or Aug 27?)aug 27

5. Time players are on waivers (days or no waivers) 2 days

6. Use "can't cut list"? YES

7. Trades reviews by commisioner or league votes? Commish (I trust you)

8. After draft, all unclaimed players free agents or waivers? FA

9. Minimum innings pitched per week? (if yes how many)30 if H2H, none if rotisserie

10. Roster changes weekly or daily? Weekly if H2H, daily if Rotisserie

1. Head to Head or Rotisserie?

H2H preferred, but would be happy with rotisserie

2. Max on player aquisitions/trades for season? (if yes, how many?)

No

3. Time managers have to protest pending trades? (No or yes and # of days)

Yes, 3

4. Trade deadline? (if yes, use July 30, Aug 6, Aug 13, Aug 20 or Aug 27?)

Yes, July 30

5. Time players are on waivers (days or no waivers)

No Waivers or 24 hours

6. Use "can't cut list"?

No

7. Trades reviews by commisioner or league votes?

I prefer votes.

8. After draft, all unclaimed players free agents or waivers?

9. Minimum innings pitched per week? (if yes how many)

1. Head to Head or Rotisserie?

Head to head. That was the league last year, and if this is a continuation of that, we should stick with the same basic format.

2. Max on player aquisitions/trades for season? (if yes, how many?)

No, unnecessary.

3. Time managers have to protest pending trades? (No or yes and # of days)

No, unnecessary

4. Trade deadline? (if yes, use July 30, Aug 6, Aug 13, Aug 20 or Aug 27?)

Doesn't really matter, but July 30, sounds fine

5. Time players are on waivers (days or no waivers)

2 days

6. Use "can't cut list"?

No, unnecessary

7. Trades reviews by commisioner or league votes?

Commissioner's good. That way we have someone to make sure there are no really one-sided trades, since you'll never get enough people bothering to vote to overturn a trade that way.

8. After draft, all unclaimed players free agents or waivers?

Waivers

9. Minimum innings pitched per week? (if yes how many)

Yes. It ruins the whole integrity of the league if you can win categories by having pitchers that don't pitch. 28 sounds good for the aforementioned reasons.

10. Roster changes weekly or daily?

Weekly. The fact is that half the league won't even be checking weekly after the first month or so, and daily roster changes just default the league title to whichever one or two people are bored enough to make sure that they get 20 starts out of their pitchers each week.

We've got 11 responses so far. Almost half of the league has not given their input yet, and there are some close races (and some not so close ones). I want to get a move on so if you haven't replied to the survey yet, do so soon, or else you can't complain your opinion wasn't heard.

I would enjoy competing in any league please pass along the info.

This league is closed. There is another league looking for participants though. *sigh*, I guess I better edit the opening post.

Will the owners of these teams please identify themselves:

Midcard 4 Life

Dangerous by Design

thanks.

How did you not know that is me?

A little skill called Proccess of Elimination. I knew the other ones and I know you were invited into the league earlier than the other guy and I remember seeing Midcard 4 Life sign up earlier than the other one so I made an inference. That, or magic psychic powers.

Just for the sake of expediancy, let's say the deadline to respond to the survey is the end of the weekend, so Sunday at midnight (ET). So all of you who haven't chimed in yet, get to it because there are some close categories and you can't say I didn't give you a chance!
