Tell me everything you know about Sushi.

The eel is great, but it's kind of cheap in a way when it comes to sushi because most of the time it's cooked, not raw.

That's fine. I'm not especially satisfied with their raw fare, by virtue of my location. There's just no way to get dynamite fresh fish out here, unless we're talking bass, bluegill, catfish, etc, and that's hardly sashimi-grade stuff, y'know?

Oh, and Yakitori, where have you been all my life? Yes sir. Their cooked eats more than make up for the small selection of quality raw fish.

Ms. Dandy and I just ate at Taste of Asia, one of our local restaurants that has a sushi bar. They had a Godzilla roll that was foohackin' amazing! We had the rainbow roll, spider roll, spicy tuna roll and the Godzilla. All were served on the same plate, with an artistic dragon drawn on half the large square plate with a special sauce. Man, that was one terrific dinner, and I need to have that Godzilla roll more often. I had never heard of it until tonight.

Here is the sushi menu, with descriptions of their rolls:

Edit---Oh yeah, every Taste of Asia is a little different with their use of crab or imitation crab. The one in downtown only had one roll with imitation crab, but I can't remember which roll it was. Also, they gave us a free roll that was crab meat rolled up in a cucumber peel. Excellent!

Forgot to mention that I went to Ozumo when I was in San Fran a few weeks ago. Technically, it wasn't the first time I had sushi, but the only sushi I had before was some crappy shit that was sitting out in a Chinese buffet so I don't really count that. Had salmon, spicy tuna, eel, yellowtail, shrimp nigri (I think), tiger something or other, Dragon rolls, and a California roll among other things (don't quote me on this though cuz I don't exactly remember). Basically, I just went all in with the whole thing, which is surprising cuz I used to be a notoriously picky eater (no way I would've ate any of this shit 5 years ago). Great for the most part though.

I've been a little leery about raw shellfish. It just sounds wrong, and clams are CRUNCHY raw. Yeck. (though I've always dug raw oysters)

However, I just had scallops raw, and they are delicious.

There's very little I really dislike, sushi-wise. Squid and raw shrimp are tasteless. Clam's gross. I don't see the point of tamago/egg omellette. That's about it. There are certain things that aren't worth the price, like Sea urchin.

Eel, mackerel, halibut, each and every type of tuna (toro being the best) those are king.
