QUOTE
(South Dakota) Three young friends found themselves in a terrible accident when their car jumped the highway and came to rest in a ditch. By the time help arrived, two of the victims, 20-year-old Arnold Archambeau and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Ruby Bruguier, had mysteriously wandered off. Their cousin remained trapped in the car and survived.

For three months there were no signs of the young couple. Then, on March 10, 1993, the body of Ruby Bruguier was found floating in the ditch, just 75 feet from the crash site. The next day, Arnold's body turned up a few yards away. However, the two bodies were in very different states of decomposition. Police are convinced that the bodies were not there at the time of the accident.

Arnold's was found in what was believed with different clothes on than the night of the accident. His clothes were not frozen to the ground whereas Ruby's was.

A friend of the young couple came forward stating that he had seen Arnold Archambeau during the three-month period between the car crash and the discovery of the bodies. The friend successfully passed a polygraph examination regarding his claim.

QUOTE
Speculation is that Ruby had been submerged in the ditch which froze and she didn't surface until it thawed but the police walked the entire lake and none of there weight broke the ice while looking for the couple, not mention there would have been evidence of them falling through the ice.. None was ever found.

Their bodies were found fairly close to the accident scene and no signs of foul play on them

QUOTE
speculation is they were drinking that night (and Arnold possibly faced with a DUI) no doubt they were afraid they would be in trouble and probably disoriented as well and wandered off in different directions and collapsed due to the cold.

Kaspar Hauser (April 30, 1812 (?) – December 17, 1833

QUOTE
On May 26, 1828, a teenage boy appeared in the streets of Nuremberg, Germany. He would barely talk, but he carried a letter with him addressed to the captain of the 4th squadron of the 6th cavalry regiment, Captain von Wessenig
It stated that he was born on April 30, 1812, and that his father, a cavalryman of the 6th regiment, was dead.

Shoemaker Weickmann took the boy to the house of Captain von Wessenig, where he would only repeat, "I want to be a cavalryman, as my father was," and "Horse! Horse!" Further demands elicited only tears, or the obstinate proclamation of "Don't know". He was taken to a police station, where he would write a name: Kaspar Hauser. He showed that he was familiar with money, could say some prayers, and read a bit, but he answered few questions, and his vocabulary appeared to be quite limited

He spent the following two months in Vestner Gate Tower. He refused all food except bread and water.
At first it was assumed that he had been raised like a half-wild human in forests, but during many conversations with Mayor Binder, Hauser told a different version of his past life, which he later also wrote down in more detail. According to this story, he had, for as long as he could think back, spent his life always totally alone in a darkened cell about two meters long, one meter wide, and one and a half high, with only a straw bed to sleep on and a horse carved out of wood for a toy.

He claimed that he had found bread and water next to his bed each morning. Periodically the water would taste bitter, and had been apparently drugged: drinking this would cause him to sleep more heavily than usual, and when he had awakened his straw had been changed, and his hair and nails had been cut. Hauser claimed that the first human being he ever had had contact with had been a mysterious man who had visited him not long before his release, always taking great care not to reveal his face to him. This man, Hauser told, had taught him to write his name by leading his hand. After having learned to stand and to walk he had been brought next to Nuremberg. Furthermore, the stranger allegedly had taught him to say the phrase "I want to be a cavalryman, as my father was" (in Bavarian dialect), but Hauser claimed that he had not understood what these words meant.

On October 17, 1829, Hauser did not come to the midday meal, but was found bleeding from a cut wound on the forehead, in the cellar of Daumer's house. He asserted that while sitting on the privy he had been attacked and wounded by a hooded man who had also threatened him with the words: "You still have to die ere you leave the city of Nuremberg." Hauser said that by the voice he had recognized the man as the one who had brought him to Nuremberg.

Hauser was moved from caretaker to caretaker, and was thought to be a fierce liar and drew the ire of those in charge of him.
Schoolmaster Meyer, strict and pedantic as he was, disliked Hauser's many excuses and apparent lies, and thus their relationship was quite strained. On December 9, 1833, Hauser had a serious argument with Meyer. Lord Stanhope was expected to visit Ansbach at Christmas, and Meyer said that he did not know how he would face him.

Five days later, on December 14, 1833, Hauser came home with a deep wound in his left breast. He said that he had been lured to the Ansbach Court Garden and that a stranger had stabbed him there while giving him a bag

Inconsistencies in Hauser's account led the Ansbach court of enquiry to suspect that Hauser stabbed himself and invented a tale about being attacked. The note in the purse that was found in the Court Garden contained one spelling error and one grammatical error, both of which were typical for Hauser

Many authors believe that he had wounded himself in a bid to revive public interest in his story but that he stabbed himself more deeply than he had planned. He died a mystery.

Derrick Engebretson.

Can you imagine a more horrible twist of fate than to emerge from being lost in the woods only to be abducted by a child killer?

QUOTE
Engebretson was looking for a Christmas tree in the Rocky Point area of Winema National Forest in Klamath County, Oregon on December 5, 1998. He wandered away from his father and grandfather during the day and apparently became lost. Engebretson has never been seen again.
Extensive air and ground searches yielded few clues as to Engebretson's whereabouts. A blizzard hit the area the evening he was reported missing and obliterated any tracks that might have been there; the weather also hampered search efforts.

For years, it was feared that the child had frozen to death in a snowstorm. But law enforcement officials now say they think Engebretson found his way to the roadside, where he was picked up by a man who would later become the state's most notorious pedophile, Frank J.Milligan, 36.
In July 2001, Milligan pleaded guilty to charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, sodomy and sexual abuse after he lured a 10-year-old boy at a Dallas park in 2000 into his black Honda Civic by offering the child $100 to mow his lawn.

Milligan raped and strangled the boy, slashed his throat and left him for dead. The child survived. At the time of the attack, Milligan was out on bail in a sexual assault case of an 11-year-old boy in Seaside.

Milligan surfaced as a person of interest in the Engebretson disappearance after a fellow inmate said claimed that Milligan had bragged about abducting and killing Derrick Engebretson, sources close to the case told The Oregonian.

When confronted, Milligan, who by then faced 36 years behind bars, confessed to killing murdering Engebretson and agreed to lead detectives to the place where he claimed to have buried the boy's body, law enforcement sources said.

But nothing was found, and Milligan later recanted the confession, according to police and Engebretson's family.

"He took them to the spot where he said he had buried the body, then he didn't do much to help them find it," said Lori Engebretson, Derrick's mother. "He said, 'Well, I guess I don't know where it's at. It was night, dark, and I was trying to hurry.'"

Based on evidence found at the scene, family members think believe Derrick was making a snow angel near the road and was abducted by someone who happened to be driving by. "We think it was a crime of opportunity," Lori Engebretson said.

One witness reported seeing a man struggle with a boy near the road but didn't stop because he assumed that the man and they boy were father and son, she said.

Milligan "has not been charged with any crime regarding this, so it would be premature for me to say anything," Pecyna of the state police said.

Wasnt there a bevy of Coca-Cola poisoning in the 1980's? I could not find any stories on it. Can anyone help?

You might be thinking of Tylenol.

YES!

QUOTE
Chicago PD has a new lead (of sorts) in the '82 Tylenol murders. Apparently the guy (his name escapes me) served time for extortion, as he told the makers of Tylenol he could "stop the killing" if they forked over some money. He did his 13 years, got out, and settled back into the fold. Chicago police were at his Boston apartment today, but wouldn't say exactly why or what precisely they were investigating. I hope something can come out of it.

EDIT: Found a link at my hometown news site.

QUOTE
Terrance Yeakey was the first police officer to arrive at the Murrah Building following the Oklahoma City bombing. Terrance called his wife that morning and cried to her over the phone. He told her repeatedly “It’s not true. It’s not what they are saying. It didn’t happen that way.” Apparently, Officer Yeakey saw something he wasn’t supposed to. He was harassed for a full year after the bombing and expressed his belief to loved ones that he would be murdered because of what he knew. One evening, Yeakey called his then ex-wife to inform her that he was being followed by what he thought were federal agents and he was going to try and lose them. His patrol car was found abandoned along a dirt road near El Reno, the front seat soaked with blood. Officer Yeakey himself was found a mile and a half away on federal property, he had been severely beaten with gashes on both arms and his throat, rope burns on his wrists and neck, plus a gunshot through the back of his head leaving no powder burns. Local police searched the area for hours but were unable to find any murder weapons. When federal authorities arrived they briskly escorted the local police off the premises and claimed to find a .38 hand gun next to Terrance Yeakey’s body. The gun that was supposedly found has never been seen by anyone except the federal officers that “found” it. Terrance Yeakey’s death was ruled a suicide. Terrance Yeakey had collected a vast amount of hard data on the bombing of the Murrah building. That material was never found following his death.

QUOTE
The deadliest storm in Oklahoma's history killed 132 people, injured 1,300 and caused millions of dollars worth of property damage as it tore through 150 miles of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles and northwestern Oklahoma.
Most of the damage and most of the victims were in Woodward, where the April 9, 1947, storm also created mysteries, still unsolved, like Joan Gay Croft, 4, who disappeared.

Joan Gay Croft, whose mother was killed and whose father was critically injured when the storm destroyed their house.

The father, H.O. Croft, was taken by ambulance to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he eventually recovered. Joan Gay and her sister, Jerry, were taken to the Woodward hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and bedded down for the night on a cot in the basement.

An aunt checked on the girls that night, but when she returned to check on them again, Joan Gay was gone.

The night after the storm, two men dressed in khaki Army uniforms came into the hospital and asked for Joan. As they started to carry her out, Joan cried, “I don’t want to leave my sister!” One of the men was overheard telling her not to worry. They promised to come right back for the older girl.

Joan’s protests drew the attention of the hospital staff, who challenged the men. One of them said they were friends of the family and were simply taking Joan to another hospital where her family was waiting. The men were allowed to leave with the child. Joan Gay Croft was never seen again.

When Croft was released from the Oklahoma City hospital, he searched for his daughter. Newspapers throughout the country carried stories about the abduction. He and Jerry eventually moved away.

QUOTE
Sometime between the years 1135 A.D. and 1154 A.D., two strange children were found near Woolpit, England.

Workers were harvesting their fields when they heard frightened cries; investigating, they discovered two children, a boy and a girl, terrified and huddled near a pit. They were screaming in a unknown language, and their clothes were made of a strange looking, unknown material... but stranger still, the children's skin was green.

The two were taken to the home of a man named Richard de Calne, where the local populace attempted to take care of them... but the children refused to eat or drink anything that was offered until someone brought in some fresh bean stalks. The children eagerly grabbed these and opened the stalks; and when they saw these empty, they started to cry. When shown that the beans were in the pods instead, the children quickly ate their fill and ate nothing else for some time after.

Soon after they were found, the boy sickened and died; but the girl became healthy and hearty, eventually losing the green hue to her skin. When she learned the local language, what she told of her origins only deepened the mystery. She said that she and her brother had come from a land with no sun; the people there, all green, lived in a perpetual twilight. When she was asked how she had come to be found outside the pit, she could only say that she and her brother had heard bells, become entranced... then the two of them were in the pit and could see the light from the mouth of it.

Though the girl lived long after her discovery, eventually marrying a local man, she was never able to give any further help in solving the mystery of her and her brother's origins and odd arrival in Woolpit.

QUOTE
On the afternoon of September 23, 1880, on a farm just a few miles outside of Gallatin, Tennessee, a remarkable event was witnessed by five people.

The farm was occupied by farmer David Lang and his family -- his wife, Emma, his two children, eight-year-old George and eleven-year-old Sarah, and their household servants. On that afternoon, the children were playing in the front yard, when Mr. and Mrs. Lang came out of their house and Mr.Lang started across the pasture toward his quarter horses.

As Lang was crossing the pasture, the horse and buggy of the family's friend, Judge August Peck, came into view on the lane in front of the house; the children stopped playing, as Peck always brought them presents when he visited. Both Mr. and Mrs. Lang saw the buggy, and Mr. Lang waved to the judge as he turned to walk back towards the house.

A moment later David Lang completely disappeared in mid-step.

Fully witnessed by his two children, his wife, Judge August Peck, and the Judge's traveling companion (the Judge's brother-in-law), David Lang had just suddenly ceased to exist; understandably, Mrs. Lang screamed. All five witnesses ran to the spot they had last seen David, but there was nothing to hide behind or under; the field contained just grass.

The adults quickly searched the field to no effect. By this time, Mrs. Lang was becoming hysterical, and was taken back into the house as neighbors were called with an alarm bell. By nightfall, all the neighbors were involved in the search, and, by lantern, they checked every foot of the field, stamping their feet to try to detect any holes that David might have fallen into. Nothing was found.

In the following weeks, Mrs. Lang was bedridden with shock; all the family servants except the cook, Sukie, left; and curiosity seekers were chased away from the farm by the local authorities. The county surveyor confirmed that the field was on perfectly solid ground, with no caves or sink holes.

Months after the occurrence, in 1881, Lang's children noticed that the grass at the site of their father's disappearance had grown strange and yellow, and formed a circle with about a fifteen foot diameter. Sarah called to her father, and, seemingly as a result, both the children heard him faintly calling for help, over and over, until his voice faded away.

Mrs. Lang never fully recovered, and there was never a funeral or memorial service for Mr. Lang. Mrs. Lang eventually left the farm and allowed Judge Peck to rent it out, with the exception of the field in the front of the house. That pasture was left untouched as long as she lived.

QUOTE
In the mid-eighteenth century, hunters in the Ochamchir region of Georgia (a Province of Russia on the edge of the Black sea) captured a 'wild woman' who had ape-like features, a massive bosom, thick arms, legs, and fingers, and was covered with hair. This 'wild woman', named Zana by her captors, was so violent at first that she had to spend many years in a cage with food being tossed to her. Eventually, she was domesticated and would perform simple tasks, like grinding corn. She had an incredible endurance against cold, and couldn't stand to be in a heated room.

She enjoyed gorging herself on grapes from the vine, and also had a weakness for wines, often drinking so heavily she would sleep for hours. As Colin Wilson points out in The Encyclopedia of Unsolved Mysteries, this is likely how she became the mother of many children to different fathers. These children usually died when she tried to wash them in the freezing river, a mistake that is understandible if she expected the children to have her own resistance to cold; but being half Homo sapiens, they just froze. The villagers just started to take her children away from her and raise them as their own; unlike their mother, the children developed the ability to communicate as well as any other villager.

Zana died in the village about 1890; the youngest of her children died in 1954. Her story was researched by Professor Porchnev who interviewed many old people (one as old as a hundred and five) who remembered Zana, as well as two of her grandchildren. the grandchildren had dark skin and a Negroid look, and the grandson, named Shalikula, had jaws so powerful that he could lift a chair with a man sitting in it.

On February 4, 1990, Poe vanished between 3 and 4 a.m. from a Circle K store at Hall Road and Aloma Avenue in Goldenro area in Orlando, Florida where she worked, less than two blocks from her apartment. She worked the night shift at the time of her disappearance.
Her purse was locked inside her new red Toyota in the parking lot.
At the time of her disappearance, a bloodhound picked up Poe's scent outside the convenience store. Orange County sheriff's detectives said the trail ended on the pavement, where authorities think she got into a car.
--

A witness comes forward about a strange man who was behind the counter at the same time as Poe went missing.

A boy see's through a fake eye after a Miracle occurs

QUOTE
Ronald Coyne was born on July 15, 1943. When he was a boy, his parents - Christians - moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma, in the USA. In 1950, making Ronald about 7 years old, he and his brother slipped out into the yard to play one day while they and their mother were all supposed to be napping. Playing with a piece of wire, Ronald accidentally swung it in such a way that it pierced his right eyeball.

Within two weeks Ronnie's eye became infected, and so the eyeball was surgically removed. He was fitted with a plastic eye to replace it. He was, of course, totally blind in that eye then.

Sometime during the next 10 months Ronnie had an opportunity to attend Vacation Bible School. He was 'saved' there, and happily told his family about it when he returned. In June of 1951, his family attended a Christian Revival and Healing Campaign being held at the local Jr. High School auditorium. It was sponsered by the Assembly of God Church in Sapulpa. The Pastor was Rev. Lonnie Osborn. His sister Daisy Gillock was the evangelist.

Daisy invited people to come forward and be prayed for if they wished to receive healing. Ronnie went up because his tonsils were giving him lots of problems. As Daisy prayed to Jesus for him, she also noticed an unusual grayness in one of his eyes, so she prayed to Jesus for his vision to be restored in that eye also, not realizing that there was no eye there to heal.

Though I've never heard about the tonsils, the eye began to see. It was praised as a miracle, but then praised all the more as it became known that it was a prosthetic eye. It was a genuine and incontestable miracle from Jesus if a person with a plastic eye could actually see from that eye socket.

Local papers pickd up the story. Skeptical reporters began to arrive, wishing to test the boy. Sometimes they allowed to test him with Ronnie's parents out of the room, and with his good eye securely covered to their satisfaction, etc. And he was tested in all sorts of manners many times as time passed. All of the clippings I've seen posted reported that Ronnie Coyne could see pretty well. He could read words, identify objects and colors, etc. It seemed his plastic eye allowed him to read as well as a boy his age could be expected to read.

It is reported that, at first anyway, the ability could be somewhat supressed for short times when especially skeptical people were around. His mother reportedly believed that this was from Satan trying to discredit God's great work. But even then, the eye would return to seeing soon enough. Reporter after reporter and doctor after doctor tested him and believed, allowing that somehow the boy was seeing.

QUOTE
On March 1, 1950 at the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice, Nebraska in the USA the entire group of 15 choir members were late for choir practice, all on the same night. The members reported that there had never been an instance in their memory when everyone was late before this day. The choir normally met at a predetermined time like all choirs do, which was 7:20 PM on Wednesdays for this choir. Most of the members made it a habit to arrive by 07:15 PM as they liked to begin promptly on time.

At 0725 PM the still empty church exploded. The probable cause was determined to be gas from a leaky heating gas pipeline in the ground nearby. The boiler likely ignited it. But as mentioned, the amazing occurred, and all members, most of whom travelled seperately or in pairs, were each late for various seemingly ordinary reasons.

One girl reported that she was trying to finish the last of her Geometry before coming. It had been a struggle earlier, but she began to understand it and didn't want to quit before she had completed the assignment.

The minister came earlier and started the furnace but then went home. Later, when they were going to leave home for practice, his wife found a stain on her dress, so she took time to change it while her husband waited.

Several had their various car problems. One took a nap and overslept. One took time to read a letter for no particular reason. One got carried away talking with someone and lost track of time. For one reason or another, all were late. They were in the parking lot waiting for someone with a key, probably laughing about their good luck to all be so late on the rare day the minister's wife was also late. But as the minister and his wife finally arrived, the church walls exploded outward and the roof dropped. It is believed that no one inside could have survived.

If each person was late 1 out of 5 times the odds would exceed a million to one against this fortunate occurrence.

I'm pretty sure the David Lang story is based on a work of fiction. At least that's what wikipedia asserts.

Even though it's pretty much a given that the troupe wandered into a nuclear testing ground, the Dyatlov's Pass Incident is an all-time favorite.

I remember some of these, such as the West Side Baptist Church Explosion, from Unsolved Mysteries. I loved that show.

The horribly mutilated body of the suspected alien abductee. Digging around the site it was linked too got me back into reading up on UFOs, conspiracy theories, and the like.

Darlie Routier, a case some of you may remember as the woman who threw a birthday party for her dead child only a few days after his murder (The intruder supposedly sliced her as well), and sprayed silly string all over his grave. Then days later the police suspected Darlie had killed her own children due to her vanity and he families sudden financial down turn.

QUOTE
Routier claimed that an intruder killed her children, but police became suspicious when they found inconsistencies between some of Darlie's report and crime scene evidence.

Routier's children were killed with deep, penetrating knife wounds to their torsos, while the slashes to Routier's neck and arm were claimed to be more superficial. In reality, the doctor's testimony was that the wounds were very serious
For example, the neck wound came within 2 mm of the carotid sheath, but was "superficial to the carotid artery". Her gold rope chain necklace was embedded in this wound and was removed at the hospital. The depth of the knife wound was limited by the necklace, which was damaged as a result. Concerning the seriousness of her wounds, prosecutors focused only on the word "superficial" which was taken out of context from the phrase "superficial to the carotid artery".

Routier claimed that at one point she ran barefoot through her kitchen to call for help. The floor of the kitchen was covered with broken glass, but Routier had no injuries to her feet. In addition, traces of the screen that the intruder supposedly cut were found on one of the knives in Routier's kitchen that had been placed back in the butcher block. The sink in the kitchen had been cleaned up, but blood was found down the front of the cabinets directly under the sink, so police suspected that she inflicted her wounds over the sink, then washed the blood down. Areas of blood around the sink had been wiped away, as revealed by a luminol test. Her claim for defensive wounds was the bruising on her arms

QUOTE
There were other details:

Officers at the scene, paramedics, nurses, doctors and neighbors were all struck by the fact that Routier never asked how the boys were or inquired whether they were alive.

First responder Officer David Waddell asked Routier repeatedly to apply pressure to her son Damon's back and to tend to him, and was ignored each time. However, she continued to apply pressure to her own neck wounds. It is possible she feared she would develop serious complications from blood loss.

After the operator told Darlie not to touch anything, Routier told the 9-1-1 operator that she had already picked up the murder weapon (thus removing any prints), which made police suspicious

Spots of blood found on her clothing demonstrated she had, at the very least, been very close to her sons while they were stabbed. The blood from both sons was deposited in a projected bloodstain pattern on the back and shoulder of her nightdress, indicating blood cast off from the weapon. But it is possible that she went very near her sons in an attempt to fight off an intruder attacking them.

Routier told her ex-maid that she wasn't worried about the cost of the funeral as she could claim $10,000 in funeral insurance

Darin Routier has admitted to trying to arrange an insurance scam, which included someone breaking into their home. He has admitted that he had begun the initial steps to arrange a break-in, but that it was to be done when no one was at home. No jury has heard this admission.

QUOTE
Routier was ultimately convicted of murdering one of her two sons, and sentenced to death. Prosecutors did not try Routier for the death of the second son, holding his murder in reserve in case of Routier's acquittal on the first murder trial.

QUOTE
The public was horrified by newscasts of Routier and other family members holding a "birthday party" at the children's grave to celebrate posthumously Devon's 7th birthday, just a few days after the murder. The grave had been under hidden police surveillance to obtain evidence against Routier, in the event that she were to break down or otherwise make a confession near the graveside.
Darlie arrived with a local television crew she had invited, essentially rendering moot any need for police surveillance. At the birthday party, Routier was shown laughing and spraying silly string on her sons' grave. This was done after Darlie's sister talked Darlie into using the silly string.

Darlie yelled out to her dead children that she loved them, all the while grinning and chewing bubble gum. Four days later, she was charged with their murder. When the case was tried in court, the jury was shown the so-called "silly string tape." Shortly after, it was revealed that the immediate family had held a moving memorial at the grave before the silly string celebration

QUOTE
Routier's family created and maintains a website that proclaims her innocence

Routier's supporters say there are indications of innocence:

A bloody fingerprint that was smeared, and not intact enough to be conclusively linked to anybody at the crime scene.

Witness statements being ignored. For example, one witness claimed to have seen a man similar in description to the one Mrs. Routier said she saw lurking around her home earlier that same day. The witness who claimed to have seen this mysterious stranger meandering about and looking constantly at the Routier house in broad daylight did not actually go to the police, or to any other agency, with this information until 2002-nearly six years after the incident

The transcript of the court testimony given by one of the police officers states they did receive calls and complaints by others who saw a man like the one described above. They chose not to follow-up on these calls

Routier's husband confirmed in court testimony that he witnessed Darlie go to the kitchen on several occasions to get wet towels for the boy's wounds. He also claimed to have entered the kitchen himself without injuring his own feet. He stated under oath that Darlie was trying to hold her son's chest wound closed while he attempted mouth-to-mouth resucitation. He testified of blood spraying up over them from Devon's wounds when he blew in his mouth and his chest.

Routier's husband testified to having approximately $30,000 in "accounts receivable" available at the time of the attack. The family was not in financial difficulty.

According to her husband's court recorded testimony, Routier already knew her boys were dead by the time she was taken to the hospital. This explains why she would not enquire as to the condition of her children. Her husband's testimony states she did ask about and hold her baby boy while still in the hospital.

When the paramedics arrived at the scene they said that Darin Routier was outside, but Darin was inside trying to save his children. Who was the man outside?

A baby is born to a teen mother who gives the child to her grand parents to care for him. After his Grandma took ill to cancer...

QUOTE
Buddy was sent to live in Roseboro, North Carolina with John Myers, his grandmother's brother and his wife, Donna. It was here where Buddy learned to swim, enjoyed playing with his toys and took a strong liking to the two family dogs, Sasha (a baby Doberman) and Buck (a three-legged mutt). They describe "Buddy" as a curious and friendly little boy who would talk to just about anyone.

QUOTE
On the afternoon of Thursday, October 5, 2000 as Buddy's aunt Donna laid on the couch, Buddy decided to take the two dogs out for a walk. That afternoon turned out to be the last time anybody saw Buddy. When Donna woke up and discovered Buddy missing along with her two dogs she ran looking for them in the fields, houses and back trails. She could not find Buddy anywhere. The family called police and they conducted a massive search of the surrounding area but found no sign of Buddy or the dogs.

Then, mysteriously on October 10, Buck, the mutt, came home. Sadly, Buddy and Sasha did not. But after Buddy's story aired on AMW (america's most wanted) on October 14, 2000, Sasha mysteriously came home. Again, Buddy was not with the puppy. Buddy's family grew more worried, but not hopeless.

QUOTE
In February 2003, a man, walked into a Chicago area hospital with a malnourished 6-year-old child who resembled Buddy. After doctors noticed inconsistencies in their stories they contacted local authorities who then contacted the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. A case manager there had reason to believe that this child was Buddy Myers. The family and law enforcement were hopeful as they awaited DNA results. However, those hopes were dashed as the DNA results proved this child was not, in fact, Tristan Buddy Myers.

Though Tristan Buddy Myers remains missing, his family remains hopeful that someone out there knows something and they pray everyday for Buddy's safe return.

NEW YORK --

Thirty years ago, five teenage boys vanished after playing basketball in Newark, N.J. They were never heard from again.

Their remains were never found, Social Security numbers never used -- and no arrests have ever been made. But the community has never forgotten its tragic loss.

Melvin Pittman, 17, Randy Johnson, 16, Ernest Taylor, 17, Alvin Turner, 16, and Michael McDowell, 16, who have become known as "The Clinton Avenue Five," vanished Aug. 20, 1978

QUOTE
The teens were last seen entering the pickup truck of a man who reportedly offered them summer part-time work -- and they were never seen again. Police questioned the contractor, Lee Anthony Evans, and cleared him of suspicion after he passed polygraph tests.

"He had a conversation with my mom, and I came back outside and saw my brother get in a truck with Lee Evans -- a green pick up truck -- and drive off," said Terry Lawson, Michael's sister. "We never saw him again."

Several days after the boys disappeared, one of their mothers got a phone call from a man who said he would tell her where the boys were for $750. Police traced the call to a payphone at Union Station in Washington, D.C., but by the time they arrived, whoever had made the call apparently had fled.

The investigation has taken detectives all over the country.

Detectives checked military records, religious cults, the bodies from Jim Jones' 1978 mass suicide in Jonestown, Guyana, according to Reuters, and the victims of Chicago serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who was executed for the rape and murder of 33 boys and men -- to no avail.

No arrests have ever been made in the decades-old case, which some investigators call one of the most baffling missing persons cases in history.

QUOTE
On 12 September 2008 at 4:22 p.m. in California's San Fernando Valley, a commuter train carrying 225 riders collided at a combined speed of 83 mph with a freight train run by a crew of three. In what came to be known as the Chatsworth crash, 135 people were injured (of which 87 were taken to hospitals, 46 in critical condition), and 25 died.

QUOTE
The Daily Breeze has this interesting story on one of the Metrolink’s victim. Chuck Peck was among the 25 dead in the Los Angeles Metrolink crash on the 12th of September 2008. His family, knowing that Chuck was on the train that faithful evening, kept getting calls from his cell phone. No voice was on the other side of the line, no audible voices. All they could hear was static on the other side of the line.

Throughout the night, Chuck’s sons, brother, stepmother, sister and fiancee all got the phone calls after the crash had been reported. Chuck’s son believed his dad was alive and trying to contact them. Chuck’s son CJ kept yelling into the phone: “We love you, Hang in there. They are coming to get you.“‘

It was not until 3:28 a.m that the phone calls stopped. None of the family members got any more phone calls. One hour later, Los Angeles firefighters recovered the remains of Chuck Peck. Coroner’s officials told Peck’s family members that he was killed instantly. His body showed no sign that he lived even for a short time after the crash.

QUOTE
In 1936, while excavating ruins of a 2000-year-old village near Baghdad, workers discovered mysterious small vase. A 6-inch-high pot of bright yellow clay dating back two millennia contained a cylinder of sheet-copper 5 inches by 1.5 inches. The edge of the copper cylinder was soldered with a 60-40 lead-tin alloy comparable to today's solder. The bottom of the cylinder was capped with a crimped-in copper disk and sealed with bitumen or asphalt. Another insulating layer of asphalt sealed the top and also held in place an iron rod suspended into the center of the copper cylinder. The rod showed evidence of having been corroded with an acidic agent.

German archaeologist , Wilhelm Konig, examined the object and came to a surprising conclusion that the clay pot was nothing less than an ancient electric battery.

(IMG:http://www.world-mysteries.com/bat1b.jpg)

QUOTE
The ancient battery in the Baghdad Museum, as well as those others which were unearthed in Iraq, are all dated from the Parthian occupation between 248 BCE and 226 CE. However, Dr. Konig also found copper vases plated with silver in the Baghdad Museum, excavated from Sumerian sites in southern Iraq, dating back to at least 2500 BCE.

QUOTE
Experiments later proved that electric batteries were used some 1,800 years before their modern invention by Alessandro Volta in 1799.

QUOTE
NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 04, 2008

A young woman was driving at 40-45 mph along Lake Cook Road, when her car suddenly lurched to the right for no reason that was apparent to her. There were no cars within sight on the road, and she had not seen any pedestrian or animal near the car. She stopped her car immediately, got out, and apparently was flabbergasted by the appearance of the left side of her automobile.

The investigating police officer could not provide an adequate explanation for the damage. He noted that there was no damaged paint, and no animal hair, feathers, or blood, evident on the damaged area of the car. UFO researchers are very interested in this happening.

Joe Stalin deception....

QUOTE
Because of the fact that Hitler's corpse was never found, rumors, stories and myths have proliferated since the end of World War Two. For many years after the end of World War Two there were more sightings of Hitler, alive in South America, than of Elvis at Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets in the deep South.

Certainly the fires of rumor were fanned by the fact that Stalin informed Truman, Byrnes and Leahy over lunch in Potsdam on July 17, 1945 that "Hitler had escaped." Keep in mind, this is the same Stalin who also claimed that the Russians had possession of Hitler's corpse. He also claimed, or Russian KMarvin's Proxy Brain files claimed, that Hitler was captured alive, taken to the Soviet Union, and held in a prison/hospital for many years

Offically its thought Hitler's body was incenerated after his death by his bunk mates. Some speculate bombings in Berlin destroyed any corpse evidence tha may have been left.

Lee Harvey Patsy???

QUOTE
Oswald's body was ordered exhumed in 1981 after author Michael Eddowes brought suit in Texas to determine who was actually buried in Oswald's grave. The pathologists assigned to the case officially identified the body as Oswald's. However, the funeral director who originally buried the body insisted it could not be the same since the one he buried clearly showed a craniotomy, which had been done during autopsy, and the exhumed skull showed no craniotomy. Also, the pathologists used dental records to identify the corps, but ignored the fact that Oswald had lost a front tooth in a fight in high school (there is a photo of him in class with a gap-tooth smile, and many classmates remember the fight and the missing tooth). The exhumed skull had a full set of natural front teeth.

QUOTE
Lee tried and failed to join the Marines at age 16, before he was old enough. He spent the next year memorizing the Marine manual. As a teenager, with his mother's help, Lee's super-patriotism and wish for a secret government identity of some sort may have found a use. Accounts of co-workers, other eyewitnesses, and records from schools, employment and the military began to conflict greatly on such details as his appearance, whereabouts and abilities in such areas as driving and foreign languages. From the time he was a young teen it was as if his identity was being used by several people at once. While no specific official program or operation has been publicly documented involving the requisition of identities, similar activities have long been common in spy tradecraft. Certainly by 1963, one or more persons was actively impersonating Oswald in ways that helped incriminate him in the Kennedy assassination.

QUOTE
After his defection to Russia, Back in Fort Worth, Lee's family noticed radical changes in his appearance, such as a great loss and thinning of his hair, adding to the mysteries surrounding Lee's identity since he was a teenager. A comparison of his height on his Defense Department ID card (5'11") with his height at the time of his arrest (5'9") supports his family's claims. Oswald's apparent pro-communist activism also fragmented into seemingly conflicting camps. He wrote friendly letters to, and subscribed to publications from communist organizations with opposite, mutually hated loyalties to former Soviet leaders Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky.

QUOTE
Lyndon Johnson never believed the report he commissioned. The official policy of the FBI has long been that the case is not closed, a policy begun by J. Edgar Hoover himself. As late as 1998, the FBI was examining a newly identified fingerprint left over from the sixth-floor crime scene. Private investigators and fingerprint experts had positively matched the latent print to a convicted Texas killer named Malcolm Everett Wallace before turning it over to the Dallas Police and FBI in May 1998. The FBI crime lab, which was under severe scrutiny for numerous past failures, seemingly botched its verification of the match after taking nearly a year to do something its experts and computers do hundreds of times a day.

QUOTE
One of the theories that circulates around the JFK assassination has to do with the premise that Lee Harvey Oswald was substituted by another person either before or during his voyage to the USSR. This theory was given birth by J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI in his now famous June 3, 1960 memo. In it, Hoover wrote, "Since there is a possibility that an imposter is using Oswald's birth certificate, any current information the Department of State might have concerning the subject will be appreciated."

QUOTE
Nonetheless, there was the haunting photograph of Oswald posing with his wife Marina, the only known full-length photo of the couple, where the 5'11" Oswald (according to his passport) is barely taller than the 5'3" Marina. This photo is often cited by the Oswald substitutionists. There it was, in black and white: the height discrepancy was undeniable and Oswald is toe-to-toe with Marina who is wearing flats. How could the 5'11" Oswald (or 5'9" as other records indicate [USMC photo for example] ) appear to be in the photo only one or two inches higher than the 5'3" Marina?

(IMG:http://www.russianbooks.org/oswald/pix/minsk4.jpg)

At least one researcher believes Marina is standing on top of a higher slope than Lee and that explains the height difference.
