So off the Steve Martin Train for a minute, I finally got a chance to see Smokey and the Bandit 3. Ive heard how terrible it was but I never really bothered to try and catch it, and then low and behold it was on HDNET Movies this morning. I think I just saw quite possibly the worst 85 minutes of cinema ever. I was trying to wrap my head around why it was so awful, from the disjointed cuts and continuity errors (B.T. Justice has not one but TWO tires blow and he's like, fuck tires I dont need tires and two seconds later he's driving on 4 perfectly inflated tires again) and horrible dubbing (I dont think Gleason or Reed actually had 50% of their original dialog left and the word subbing was rediculous considering the ammount of nudity..you can show pussy but you cant say it?) not to mention the fact that the lack of Burt Reynolds for all but 90 seconds of that 85 makes you realize that they just threw this together to cash in on the S&B craze even when Burt really wanted nothing to do with it after the questionable sequel (which I always thought was ok but nothing compared to the first). THEN...I find out that the original plan was for Gleason to play Justice and the Bandit in a dual role and that got shit on by test audiences and they went back and reshot everything with Gleason as the Bandit and replaced it with Cledus. I also was able to use the HD to freeze frame at the points where it was noticable that the stunt driver for the Bandit was an old fat guy which I didnt notice the first time through. This makes everything make sense other than why the hell the movie was actually released, since at some point someone had to go "You know, this is a pile of shit" (which would have been an understatement). Also, I now desperately want to see the original test version (Smokey is the Bandit!) just to see if could have actually been worse than what they ended up with (Me thinks that the test audience probably were dumbasses but it does sound really stupid) Im also quite thankful that Smokey and the Bandit 4 (thousand) (basically Smokey and the Bandit in space/future) never saw the light of day (yet) though now Im waiting for the remake which I would think is all but inevitable...

All of that is negated by whoever it was getting American Idol so..whatever. My vote goes to whoever thought it was a bright idea to merge the WB and UPN and then break it apart again with MNTV and CW which both suck worse than WB and UPN ever did. shortly behind that is whoever at CBS decided they wanted to be the Crime Broadcasting System.

Honestly MJ being a huge homer makes things better for me by keeping me from making homer picks. Ive somehow become a Brewers Fantasy homer though. Hardy/Braun/Parra and theres still 2 or 3 more guys I could draft if needed.

Punk, MVP and Morrison are my picks. Punk's already had a title run and hes over enough already to be there, MVP has had a couple shots but nothing serious but I think a face turn will put him over the hump and Morrison has a good look and mic skills and is better than average in the ring. Christian really shouldnt be on the list. He could have been dropped into the Top Level with Jeff Hardy/Edge and held his own to give him that spot immediately if they wanted. I dont doubt that he will be there before the end of the summer at the worst. Of the ones on the list, Id actually say Cody Rhodes is the least likely to make it to a top spot, even worse than the Miz. The Miz at least has some charisma, a better look and better mic ability.

In the end, having Matt be the one makes a slightly better angle out of it.

I figure one day Im going to come to the board and it'll be about Transexual Monkeys and that will be it.

FOX NEWS is exposing Maryland's great Governor for the dumbass that he is. 10,000 jobs @ $32,000 a year (avg road construction worker salary) = 87% of the funds MD is getting just in their wages, leaving very little money to by the materials to actually do the construction. Maybe these are just really cushy jobs where they sit around for 8 hours a day like the Maytag repairman?

In a few years after the government is done with them, the oil companies are going to need a bailout just like the Big 3 and the Banks but Im not holding my breath on them getting it.

That's odd cause you seem to be the one complaining about infrastructure spending that will create jobs!?! The states already get federal gas tax and their own gas tax money for roads. Now, if they had doled out all the stimulus money and repealed the federal gas tax..we'd be talking. But the gas tax is actually going to be raised eventually, but not because we want to generate more revenue for roads.

There have been a lot of surprises over the last year that weren't spoiled, moreso than anytime recently that I can remember since I've been reading online wrestling sites. Jericho winning the Title vs Batista in the Cage on RAW is the biggest but Cena in the RR last year was also big. Heck, Christian showing up on ECW was pretty big as well..

They probably would have eventually turned Matt on Jeff anyway, this just pushed it up. Christian attacking Jeff makes the most sense because he would be doing it to help Edge. Matt attacking Jeff to help Edge just feels..wrong though you could ignore the helping Edge part I suppose and just go on the jealous brother angle.

I think Suggs getting franchised means they feel they have a shot at keeping Ray Lewis for one more year letting Scott walk (they've got talent behind him to replace him) Next year, Ray retires and they'll sign Suggs to a long term deal (or go after Peppers, since Baltimore was supposedly the AFC team he wanted to play for) At least this is what I hope Suggs getting franchised means. I had farfetched dreams of them getting Peppers this year since the Ravens are supposedly the 1 AFC team he was willing to be traded to but I know they won't trade two #1 picks and have the salary cap room unless they let Ray walk and Id rather have Ray Lewis retire as a Raven. Plus, they still really need a WR.

I dont know how you can blame Republicans for that, sorry. The levies in NOLA needed to be fixed/enhanced/maintained for YEARS but whenever NOLA got money for it, they always found some other use for the money instead of actually putting it towards the levies. While I know that Bush cut the funding almost in half to cover Iraq spending, they could have had it fixed well before that. Oddly enough, even after Katrina, the levies were rebuilt but most of them are no better than the ones that were destroyed by Katrina and some are only 1 more bad Hurricane away from failing again... This same principle can be applied to our road system and why it takes a few bridges collapsing and people getting killed to suddenly make people in government go "uh..maybe we should be spending money on the roads/bridges?"
