Guest Dangerous A Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 After reading the SD spoilers, I have some questions that could lead into some long term ramifications if acted upon. Is Taker headed towards Tweenerville? He shakes Jeff Hardy and Cena's hands for jobs well done, then slams Angle this week after making the save. Has a match with Rock at the upcoming PPV. Kind of erratic behavior. Makes me think he is going to be a bad ass tweener. With Angle saving Taker at the end, could we see Angle finally get the purpose needed to turn him to a legit face? It could happen, especially if the Team Canada thing takes off. Unfortunately for Angle, WWE sees him as an elevator and not a person who the ME scene should be built around. Maybe Angle gets Team Canada over this summer, then he'll be face by fall? Who knows? We all know Rock is going off to film his next flick in September. By Meltz's accounts, WWE seems to be building to a Rock/Lesnar SS main. With that info, it seems Lesnar would go over and be new champ. If Angle can get over as face by then, could we have a fall/winter filled with Angle/Lesnar ME's filled with WRESTLING? (the submission, ground based work that is) If Taker were to not stay heel and turn face here in the next couple of weeks, could they possibly do a double turn with HHH? HHH would have the motivation to get Taker because of the elbow. Plus we already have Shawn playing profit. Perhaps the NWO will be the door for HHH to turn heel and turn Taker back to face? I await your feedback gentlemen.

Not to say that I don't like mat wrestling, or can't appreciate worked shoot, but Angle hasn't really impressed me with this stuff in the past and Brock is much to, I don't know, green, to pull that stuff off with Angle (if Angle can even do it). Plus, the psychology surrounding those types of matches is structured and over their heads really. I could dig some mat wrestling, but I'd rather see Benoit and Guerrero, not just because I know these two can pull it off, but because they will both need alot of work. And I mean alot, because you don't just pick that stuff up wrestling a bunch of mat based matches together.

Much Like Austin. Who Question his Faceness or Heelness when someone tried interfering during a match, and then after it Austin Stuns his opponent, or the guy that made the save.

You are right, American audience isn't ready for worked shoot style. I guess I was hoping for more of Angle/Benoit from WM-X7 style of wrestling out of Angle and Lesnar.
Guest Brian Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 The problem with that is that Angle's not near Benoit where he can not only get the mat wrestling across but have it lead somewhere, transition it, andd build matches just out of thing established there. And Brock's not at Angl's point. Maybe in a year, and that's if Angle gets exposed to more stuff along that lines and Brock improves alot.

Who knows" Well, Team Canadas attack doesn't air, and so Angle's save doesn't either...At least we know maybe the WWE is thinking about it..
