Vince Russo is currently backstage at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN. for tonight's NWA-TNA pay-per view. There have been rumors circulating that Vince Russo quit WWE when they demoted his involvment in the company from creative director to a mere consultant, however no confirmation followed. This is the only evidence to those claims, but is still no confirmation. It would be rather odd if Russo were still working in WWE and attended their competition's program, but not an impossibility.

Dawwww Mr Russo wanted ALL Booking Power... Didn't get it and Folded his arms stuck out his bottom lip and went I don't wanna play no mo whaaaaaaa

Would YOU want to stay on a sinking ship that doesn't seem to realize that they're sinking? I think Russo knows that as along as Cripple H is banging Steph that there's not a chance in hell that he'll get full control because HHH is afraid of losing his spot and knows that Russo like to push the younger talent.

The Russo Defense force come out to save him.

WWE isn't really sinking. Its still the only game in Town for Nation Wide Wrestling telecast. Asides if Competition does rise up then they will only get better. WWF of the 95-97 was worse and dismal than now, but suddenly The WWE is a Sinking ship?

Russo comes in and already demands Total booking control, then when he doesn't get it rumors fly of him quitting. give me a damn break. If he didn't want to be there regardless his position then he shouldn't gotten hired then.

The WWE is creatively a sinking ship. There are still good angles and good characters, but a lot of it just simply isn't very interesting. Even though I'm a Russo fan, I don't think he should have gotten total control right away, but I also don't think just because he wanted to see a really good match that he left the company. I mean, just because Steven Spielberg goes to see a movie he didn't direct, doesn't mean he's quit Amblin Entertainment... so why would people assume something as equally ludicrous about Vinne Ru? That's all I'm saying.

Allright. This is getting to the point of stupidity.

"Sinking ship" my ass. A company that was sinking would lose money..at a rapid rate. (ex. WCW was losing MILLIONS every year. The WWE happens to be making money.) They aren't dying, and probably won't die anytime soon. Wrestling is just in a slump..not here, but in Japan, too. That happens sometimes. A boom period will swing around soon enough.

"But the angles are stupid.." I hate to tell anyone, but the angles aren't exactly intellectually stimulating at the best of times. For every great angle, you get three Mark Henry/Mae Young ones. It happens.

And all these "Criple H" and "Bradshaw hazing/baby oil" jokes need to stop, now. If you're in the mood to pull stupid crap, the No Holds Barred folder is over there. Post it where we can easily ignore it, and stop wasting time with it. It's been done to, and past death. Cut it out. Morons.

Here's a thought. Wrestlers/Staff went to other shows, even during the Monday Night Wars. Ever hear of having friends? Consider that Russo may have went there for THAT reason. He's not going there because the WWE is dying. Far from it.

(EvenflowDDT: You have a good point. However, the creative end has been lame since WM2001. "Sinking ship" is the wrong term for that, because it's just dead. Hopefully, the WWE will get out of the quick ratings fix mode, not even consider bringing back Austin or bringing in Goldberg, and use the talent they already have)

OK, listen. WWE programming is not as bad as you all make it out to be. Are there issues? Of course there are issues! There will always be issues. Somebody is always being held down, some bad gimmick or angle is always being pushed...that's nothing new.

Need I remind you of some of the abortions that took place during the so-called Golden Era of 1997-2001? I didn't hear half this many people up in arms over the product in 1999, and guess what? THE PRODUCT WAS MUCH WORSE AND THE WRESTLING SUCKED, TOO!

Beaver Cleavage or the D'Lo/Terri miscarriage angle anyone?

Maybe all of you "wrestling is dead" guys miss Val Venis cutting promos with John Bobbitt, Mae Young stripping and giving birth to rubber hands, Pat Patterson and Brisco wrestling in drag, epic feuds like Kaientai vs. The Oddities, 20-minute Ministry of Darkness segments, or -- my favorite -- Jim Ross turning "heel" with Dr. Death and kicking Michael Cole in the balls. I'm not even kidding about that last one. It really is my favorite. Anyone who kicks Michael Cole in the balls is my instant hero.

Anyway, the product is not perfect, and it is not doing record business. But maybe that's just because wrestling has cooled off. Ever think of that? I don't care what anyone says, the product -- as of right now -- is still better than anything they were doing in 1984-1995, or 1999.

until the wwe reaches the shit level of 1995-97 i don't think they are in any trobles.

I wasn't making a joke about Bradshaw, I was pointing out that rumors are running rampant on the board and so some jackasses use it to make themseleves sound like they are in the know. I don't really believe the anal rape stories. I was hoping the detail about Haku would make the story outrageous enough so that no one would think I was actually trying to make a joke.

Notice the picture of Haku as trivia's sig? It fits together somehow

I know. I'm just tired of threads being 'ruined' by whiney anti-smarks (not saying you are one).

"Stop bitching about HHH! Please!". "Xpac isn't that bad, stop making fun of him". "I love bradhsaw." Wah wah wah.

Just venting.

Point taken. I guess it is easy to take the holier than though aproach. I guess I'm just annoyed at people like Smarkzone who cook up "Triple H's waterweight" rumors. So I'm venting too. I mean, I hate Triple H too, but pretty much everyone has bashed him and... well now I'm rambling

and I was more responding to El Psycho Diablo's remark. Believe me, I don't want to be identified with the Bradshaw Baby Oil people. I'm not anit-smark, I'm anti Smarkposers

Yea, there have been a lack of really strong angles, but there haven't even been any comically bad angles. In all honesty, I'll take either... that's my only problem with anything, is not when it's REALLY good or REALLY bad, just kinda there. I think the bringing in of new guys will at least get the company started on the road of becoming less tepid, but that's another thread all together.

Honestly, I'd rather see that than the vast seas of nothingness that populate WWE storylines right now. Though they might not always work, storylines such as the above are memorable because they're unique (and in some cases even funnier because they didn't work), as Russo's storylines were. Though he could get VERY extreme at times, he made watching wrestling entertaining, whether on a "low level" like myself where you actually enjoy really dumb gimmicks and booking, or as a drinking game for "higher level" smarks. In the end, I'm not looking for any fights, I was just trying to defend my man Russo, that's all :)

Oh really?

The Haku Pic is there as a Ironic effect. But im sorry I struck a Nerve that I said something So Offensive to the God of Wrestling Russo LOL

Those Rumors must simply be stamped out because if its about Russo well then they are just untrue and those speak it must get a Gang beat down Right?

I'm just saying that it's not like if the Rock had shown up for Nitro back in 1998. NWA:TNA is not a direct ccompetitor of WWE. Vince Russo is not on the booking staff for WWE. He's a consultant. And so he's not violating any rules by showing up at the TNA show. It's wrestling. some people enjoy watching wrestling and go to whatever shows they feel like.

and I do like the Haku pic and the Hakumania thing. It was just the first thing I saw and I thought I'd incorporate your outrageous iroic statement with the outrageous Bradshaw rumors. You know "For ironic effect"

I agree with that :)

How about we turn this around from a Russo Quitting to something along the lines of Russo Sent out to NWA TNA by the WWE to Scout. There are plenty of former WWF wrestlers in NWA TNA that the WWE might feel vindictive enough to Offer their way back in. Despite how close the NWA TNA is on being a Viable competition Would former WWF wrestlers stay there or go back to WWE if they offered them?

Talking about bookers, whose that writer around the 2000 era that was suppose to be a perfectionist in his booking, according to Keith?

So has Vince Russo been fired or what? Can anyone confirm. Was he doing anything wrong by being backstage at the NWA:TNA event? Does anyone really know what is going on with this situation? Anyway I wouldn't be surprised to see Russo promoted it haed booker again if the ratings keep sliding. I'm not sating that Russo will save the WWE but at least there may be some entertaining angles on TV again. Anyway, with the role Russo has in the company right now what does it matter if he's gone!

Vince Russo over at NWA-TNA?

Hmm.

McMahon: Russo, you did a great job of destroying WCW from the inside for me. But we have a new enemy. They must be destroyed before they can pose a threat to my empire.

Russo: I'll send them my resume straight away.

McMahon: Exccccccccellent. [chuckles evilly, strokes long-haired cat]

Guest evenflowDDT

People give Russo WAY too much credit... it's not like he single-handedly destroyed WCW. Also, NWA:TNA doesn't really need him for bad booking... I mean come on, the Johnsons? Race car divers and country musicians in feuds?

I've had enough. The people ruining these posts aren't the ones making the HHH and Xpac jokes. Those jokes are funny and most who use them don't mean them seriously.

the people who ruin posts are the assholes who whine and bitch about those making the jokes. Really you sound like a little baby.

"whaaaa why is everyone picking on HHH....whaaaa"

Shut up and lighten up. That's why it's called a JOKE!!!

Vince Russo was visiting friends at the NWA show. He is still employed by WWE. His job is (get this) a stay-at-home,creative consultant, who sends notes to Vince. Wow...what a lucky bastard. Stays at home, visits friends, and his job is sending Vince McMahon love letters.
