Guest thebigjig Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I've noticed through a few threads here that I wasn't the only one that thought Richards was Vince Russo for a few split seconds... I'm just curious to know who else had this impression at first?
Guest Downhome Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 As I said before... ...when Flair was talking to Jeff Hardy in the back and you saw "some guy" sitting in the background, am I the only one who, if only for a moment, thought it was Russo? Stephen Richards was sitting how Russo does, and even moved liked him when he started to get up. I thought they were about to unleash a Flair/Russo program on us all once again!
Guest y2jailbait Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 would that even be bad at this point, at least he'd have direction, good gawd thats one of the first RAW squashes ive seen in a long time. GIVE THE NATURE BOY A DIRECTION PLEASE!

GIVE THE NATURE BOY A DIRECTION PLEASE! I was actually kind of hoping that it was him, and was dissapointed when I realized it was Richards... say what you will about Russo, but I kind of thought he did a good job as the asshole boss of WCW, even if he was kind of ripping off the WWF I know I would've marked out... call me crazy or cunt, or cunt rag, or troll
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I had the show playing in a tiny TV Tuner program since I watch Raw on my computer so I can record the show to a movie file and put it on a CD (I know, what a dweeb, huh? I imagine my disc collection will be massive in a few years) With such a tiny screen, I thought it was either Russo or Bischoff.
Guest C-Bacon Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 wow, didn't anyone else picked it up, but i thought the exact same thing too
Guest Downhome Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 If you ask me, I think this is the begining of Ric Flair's dirrection. I see him now entering the program of him being on his final run, as they keep saying, and he's basicly starting at the bottom. Look for him to get various wins over lower card guys, working up the card, untill he eventually gets to the Main Event, and gets a "historic" victory at a major PPV to win his first ever, Undisputed World Championship. It would be a fitting way for his in ring story to end if you ask me, and could be damn good if done with the correct opponent.
Guest alfdogg Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I'm glad other people besides me noticed this. I don't feel as stupid now.
Guest thebigjig Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I find myself drooling at the possibility of a Flair/Angle WRESTLING match... sure it wouldn't be nearly as good as the Flair 10 years ago, but I'm still positive that it would be a great match And what better way to go out, then to wrestle the man that people are calling the next "Ric Flair"?
Guest Human Fly Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I held my breath for a second when they panned back. He looked alot like Vinny Ru with that Five O'Clock shadow.

If I hear one more piece of Russo love, I'm going to skin a Cat. However, since pretty much anyone can be loved if they're out of the spot light long enough, allow me to refresh your memory: If any of you can sit through a tape high-lighting any of the following, and not renounced your involvment or enjoyment of wrestling altogether, then you're a brave person: "Goldberg Heel-turn" angle "Goldberg re-creates the Streak" angle "Who's the father of Stacey's Baby?" angle "David Arquette: World Champion" angle "Kidman Vs. Douglas: Viagra on a Pole" match Just think about that; that's only a highlight reel of what true agony under Russo was. The only way that it would have been a good angle is if Russo got up to say something and then stepped on a land-mine.

I didnt say I was a fan of Russo's creative direction, I just think he made a good asshole heel Plus the only reason I would mark out, is because I stayed loyal to WCW until the end, and watched all of it, including the Russo era... most likely I would just mark out just for the simple fact that he would be on WWE tv... sort of like someone marking out for a wrestler they may not even like debuting

Personally, I never liked his heel work. Putting the world title on himself didn't do much to endeer him towards me, either. Plus, I don't see the shock value in Russo showing up on Raw; I mean, he was there, every night, in the back, for a good couple of years, after all.
Guest buffybeast Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I, too, thought Richards was Russo for a split second. I almost jumped out of my chair at the thought of Russo reappearing on tv. But then I realized it was just Stevie.
Guest Razor Roman Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I also thought it was Russo for what its worth.
Guest mach7 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I've noticed through a few threads here that I wasn't the only one that thought Richards was Vince Russo for a few split seconds... I'm just curious to know who else had this impression at first? I did. Shit, I thought it was just me who thought this. It's good to know I'm not alone during my split-second of insanity. Seriously, I was like "NOOOOO!!! NOT ON TV!! NOT RUSSO!! NOOOO" and then saw it was Richards.. "WHEW!"
Guest Some Guy Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I thought it was Russo, when Richards had the paper in front of his face and his feet on the table.
Guest thebigjig Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 lol that's hillarious... I've spoken to about 45 people so far who claimed that they believed it was Russo as well... strange
