Guest Razor Roman Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Just reported on Rajahwwf.com.... NWA TNA has hired Vince Russo. I guess he didn't last long in CT, huh?
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 When I Do Rumors they are confirmed BWAHAHAHHA Well good Concussion Helmet boy can try to help NWA TNA maybe he'll make the Midget girls have Cream Corn wrestling matches for ratings
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 DAMN!! I really wanted the NWA to make it.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Vince McMahon sent him to inject Poison~ into NWA!!!
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Vince McMahon sent him to inject Poison~ into NWA!!! Let the conspiracy theories begin.
Guest razazteca Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 well that would explain K-Kwick vs Nascar driver Hermie
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 If last night's "scare" was any indication, he's invaded the body of Steven Richards to continue his feud with Ric Flair. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, check out the first few pages of the RAW thread.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 well that would explain K-Kwick vs Nascar driver Hermie I wonder if Jarrett and Son slipped Miller some crack in his usual 10-course meal to get him to approve of this retched angle...
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Jim Miller, the NWA President. He was on the last show.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 That fat bastard Miller looked like he was just happy to be on tv.
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 if McMahon wanted to sink NWA TNA he would just offer jobs back to all those former WWF wrestlers he released. They might think even Jobbing for the WWF is 10 times better than winning matches for NWA TNA where the only people to see you is the wrestlers relatives The Billy brothers and Bulford their old Smell Hound. lol
Guest Choken One Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Turth be told...I'd rather job to Crash holly every night and get paid good money then get paid shitty money and travel across the nation spending my said Shitty money without a gurantee of job security.
Guest nikowwf Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I guess NWA is not long for this world. I can't wait to see Jerry Lynn's new gimmick as a gay vampire who dresses up like a giant penis. Niko

Guest Prince Paul Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I'm sure McMahon isn't worried about NWA at all. Not until their ratings keep growing, because then he knows where his audience is going.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 This sucks! I was REALLY enjoying the NWA shows, and even if they never made it "big" I at least thought the product was fresh and entertaining and the matches got time, and in the case of the X-Division were damn impressive. Now Russo's gonna ruin it! No more long, entertaining matches and no more coherent, chronological storylines! I thought they wanted to seperated themselves from WCW and their disastorous end?
Guest monkey Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I suppose I am the only one who thought Russo might have worked with McMahon reigning in his more extreme ideas. It seems every one else hates him with a pasion, oh well.
Guest justcoz Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I wanted to see Russo get creative control of Raw, maybe letting Gerwitz stick around as his new Ed Ferrara while Heyman kept Smackdown. I marked out when I read that Russo would be rejoining WWE. I thought it was a necessary action, I didn't want him with full creative control but I liked the idea of Vince, Heyman and Russo fronting things creatively. Russo had a new crop of talent to work with, a challenge to change the fortune of WWE of and Vince's supervision. Simply stated I thought WWE's future looked brighter with Russo on board. But we don't know what happened at that creative team meeting in Stamford. I'm guessing we will find out when Russo talks to Dave Scherer (suddenly 1wrestling.com loves Russo!). What did Russo propose and what was so bad about his ideas? So help me, if it comes down to HHH and Stephanie, I'm going to puke. I held onto hope that Russo just wasn't familiar with WWE's product and needed to sit by in a paid consultant role to get reacquainted. I knew he was a goner when I read that he was at last week's NWA TNA tapings. Russo played the industry these past few months! We've read where Russo and McMahon had been speaking for over a month. Now we are reading that Jarrett and Russo have been speaking for months. Perhaps Russo liked what he was hearing from Jarrett more than the McMahon's? All of you who aren't giving NWA TNA a chance, let me say this, all it takes is a few bad moves from Vince. Overlooking all of the talent in the X Division - Lo Ki was too stiff, AJ Styles was bland, etc. Not bringing in Mike Tenay as a commentator. Perhaps even the Steve Austin thing will bite him in the ass. I also think that come contract renewal time Russo could easily get in the ear of a Benoit, Jericho or RVD. I bet you Vince is a little more cautious now as to not fire a big name without the security of knowing there is nowhere else for them to go. Throw in a tv deal with USA or TBS and suddenly we have COMPETITION again.

Their entire business model is built on selling PPVs every week. Getting a TV deal means that they would have to run themselves the same way as WWE basically if they wanted to be profitable. TV costs a ton of money without that much return, and no one is going to buy a weekly PPV. Of course, their current business model isn't working either, since the actuals on the buys for their first PPV are coming in at below 30k when they needed 50k minimum.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I've stated many times that I believe Russo is the ultimate devil in this industry, but if he can move the focus away from hicks a bit, it's worth it. I don't see the promotion surviving on it's current path anyway.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 It was HHH and Stephanie that got Russo demoted in the WWF basically according to the big 3 wrestling sites. It is said that Stephanie will protect her spot at all costs, no matter what it takes. Of course, her on the writing staff is the main problem with WWF now, but unfortunately Vince doesn't realize that.
Guest nikowwf Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Stephanie being on the writing staff is a problem. Vince Russo being on the writing staff is NOT a solution. His WCW stuff was horrible in both idea and execution. Sometimes I wonder if people just weren't watching, or if their memories are selective. the POWERS THAT BE GI BRO MIA including CAPTION RECTION the worked shoot angles - THIS TIME THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE SCRIPT (Steiner, Goldberg, Nash) his title win his win over flair David Arguette The pregnancy angle have you all forgotten? Russo sucks. I hope he doesnt overgimmick the NWA - i want matches not talking penises! Niko
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 11, 2002 Report Posted July 11, 2002 I like NWATNA. alot I'm watching it now.

Of course, her on the writing staff is the main problem with WWF now, but unfortunately Vince doesn't realize that. " I reported what was out of the observer about a week ago on this. There were 3 scenario's out of the first meeting with Russo. 1) Russo buried himself with bad ideas. 2) Steph buried him after the meeting. 3) Russo admitted being out of touch with the product, which kind of buried himself again because his ideas would throw everything way off. There is more credence to scenario's 1 and 3 because Vince McMahon WAS THERE AT THE MEETING! If the ideas were good and Vince wasn't there, then the Steph scenario would have more weight because then she would be able to give Vince a one sided story. It's just more racy if it's reported that a person most net people are not fond of did away with a person than it is if a person did themselves in because they a) are not in touch with the product and B) are overrated when it comes to coming up with results that are long term.
