Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 RAW 1) D Lo over Steven Richards (that short powerbomb thing, I forgot the name of it) 2) Matt Hardy and Trish Stratus over Raven and Molly holly (double pin Twist of Fate and Stratus Faction) 3) Hardcore match Bradshaw versus Stasiak, Justin Credible gets involved, Credible pins Bradshaw (Superkick), Stasiak over Credible (reverse DDT), Bradshaw over Stasiak (clothesline from Hell) 4) Benoit and Gurerro over Spike Dudley and Tommy Dreamer (Crossface on Dreamer) 5) Undertaker over RVD (WWE Undisputed World Title match) (big boot into chair that RVD was holding, or so I am told, three drunk rednecks in front of us were annoying me and blocking my view) Intermission 6) Chris Nowitski over Golddust (via Brassknucks that Regal slide to him) 7) Booker T over Big Show (jumping side kick) 8) Brock Lesner (with out Heymen) over Ric Flair (F5) ****************************************** SmackDown! John Cena d Albert (rollup) Massive "Shave your back" chant for Albert. Hecklers gave him problems about that all the way through. Albert got most of the offense - Cena won with a fluke rollup. Batista d Randy Orton (Somersault slam) Decent match for both - lots of offense on both sides. A little slow with restholds, especially as Batista held Orton in a Steiner Recliner for about 3 minutes. Pin came after the move where Batista had Orton on his shoulders, and dove forward, planting Orton before doing a complete somersault to land himself. Billy, Chuck, and Rico d Hugh Morrus, Mark Henry, and Shannon Moore (Chuck jungle kicks Moore) Heels refused to actually get into the ring, with Billy even putting his headband on a security guy and waving goodbye to his teammates before actually starting. Match was one-sided for the faces until Moore was tagged in. Sho Funaki d Nick Dinsmore (don't remember, don't care.) Who? Boring match. Funaki was the face, despite being EEEVIL. Jamie Noble d Billy Kidman (corner DDT, feet on ropes) Decent match. Bidding war amongst fans for Nidia to do a lap dance reached almost 10$ CDN. Rey Mysterio and The Hurricane d Tajiri and Chavo Guerrero (Hurricane chokeslams Tajiri for the pin) Mysterio looks really good, getting in some really nice spots including swinging through the ropes for a dropkick. Lance Storm and Christian d Hardcore Holly and The Big Valbowski (Storm pins Val, superkick) MASSIVE crowd support for Storm and Christian, who are faces for tonight. Storm could hardly keep a straight face. Christian starts a "USA sucks" chant, and Valbowski argues with the crowd after being called "traitor", which continues throughout the match. Test d Rikishi (pinfall, Big Boot Of Doom) Rikishi opened up a large cut on his forehead in the first punch exchange - looked accidental. He poured blood all over the ring for the rest of the match, which had to be mopped up, and all over Test. One-sided for Test, who hit the big boot, got the pine, then got a chair. After one hit, it was covered in Rikishi's blood, too, and Test left the ring. Easily 0.7 or 0.8 on the Muta scale. Torrie Wilson d Dawn Maria (Bra and panties match) Dawn maries started the match by removing her own top, and using it to choke Torrie. MAIN EVENT: Edge d Kurt Angle (pinfall, spear) Angle came out to massive boos and one really loud guy cheering(me). He grabbed a mike, and talked about how he's a REAL hero, and Canadian ones like Ben Johnson and the 2002 figure skating gold medalists are whiners and cheaters who don't deserve medals, like all Canadians in every olympics. Crowd's response: A chant for "Hockey! Hockey!" which Angle cleverly ignores. Very good match, with both guys hitting each other's finisher and kicking out to great crowd heat. After the match, Edge revived his "5 second pose" for the crowd. Decent show, even if Jericho, HHH, and The Rock were all absent. Hogan was missing too, but that's not a bad thing.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 Cena's finisher IS a fluke roll-up. Call it the Cena Surprise. Ratings~!
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 Heh. Well, I guess I'll throw my thoughts in here to try and kick off this thread a bit: Hardcore match Bradshaw versus Stasiak, Justin Credible gets involved, Credible pins Bradshaw (Superkick), Stasiak over Credible (reverse DDT), Bradshaw over Stasiak (clothesline from Hell) Can we stop with the 24/7 thing? WWE was nice about covering it all the first time around in their slowly-dying Title History site, but now it's like they almost don't care. Booker T over Big Show (jumping side kick) Will this make it to RAW!? We can only hope. 8) Brock Lesner (with out Heymen) over Ric Flair (F5) Just thought I'd mention that because of Flair's inability to work a full schedule, RVD will be sitting in for him in tonight's show. Billy, Chuck, and Rico d Hugh Morrus, Mark Henry, and Shannon Moore (Chuck jungle kicks Moore) Yeah. Putting one cruiser in a group of heavies and squashing him to cost the entire match. WAY TO GET OVER THOSE CRUISERS, GUYS! After the match, Edge revived his "5 second pose" for the crowd. I'm sure some will assume a heel turn is inevitable after reading that, but I'm still not sure.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 14, 2002 Report Posted July 14, 2002 I read this on 411 earlier. The little twat that sent it in said "Benoit had the less Ring Charisma out of everyone on the card." Or something to that nature.
