Guest Downhome Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Out of all of the guys on the WWE roster that is not currently over, have it be because they aren't being pushed, aren't in the right gimmick, or whatever, who do you feel COULD be over if dealt with properly? Could Test be a hugely over face/heel if given the right program? Just imagine how over Booker T could be right now if he was in the right program. Same goes for D'Lo, Benoit, etc... I know there are guys out there that aren't over, but they damn well COULD be, so who do you count in this grouping? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 I couldn't agree more, DH. Someone I would add to this would be Kaientai from 2000. "Indeed" got them over and Taka even got face pops during that famed HHH match on RAW. If the WWE had the cruisers then that they have now, the division would have gotten insanely over.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 This may sound STUPID at first but i believe that with the right WORK ETHIC and correct ATTITUDE, combined with a cool angle with another wrestler and for fuck's sake a name change, X-Pac could be one over little monkey...he was in '98 anyway. But the probability of that happening is about the same as Nash having a ***** match with The Brooklyn Brawler, so lets move on... This has been the Taker Mark
Guest Phr33k Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 That's an easy question to answer. All you people rag on Brock Lesnar's Goldberg-style push, but the only reason he's not over is because they used him as a power-move only guy. Stuff like that bores the hell out of me, and probably a lot of other fans as well. If they'd increase the length of his matches, and stop making him use the "WWE Style", maybe... JUST MAYBE... he'd, y'know, get over? I wonder how long it's gonna be before Vince and Co. realize it. I also wonder if his placement in the main event is solely because he's not over. This way, Trips doesn't even have to kill his heat.
Guest MrRant Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Brock Lesnar could be very over if they did it right... which sadly they aren't.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 BENOIT we all know he can get over my doing some sweet-ass wrestling, which reminds me, who is he scheduled to wrestle at Vengenance, if anyone
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Brock and X-Pac are two more good choices. I think the heel turn in 99 killed X-Pac's career for good as far as the fans were concerned since they had been so behind the Kane/X-Pac team and he gives that up to be a lackey in DX? Add his lack of motivation after a DAMN good 98 and the injuries, it's pretty sad.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Anyone could be over if given the right angle as long as they can display at least some passable mic work.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 D'lo Brown is the biggest example I can think of. Even when teaming with Chaz during that horrid Middle Eastern gimmick with Singh, he easily garnered D'Lo sucks chants. Same thing when he was a face, except with the sucks part taken off. He just has a very bizarre natural charisma too him that makes people take notice.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Eddy Guerrero. His feud with RVD--which produced awesome matches--should've been "off the hook," as the kids would say, but was pretty heatless thanks to dull booking. The Austin feud could've garnered him some of that elusive heat, but we all know how that ended up. Also, the Latino Heat gimmick is stale. Why can't they let Eddy talk without using the stereotypical accent?
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 they should let Eddy use chavo's music
Guest Ravenbomb Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Raven. Raven could be really over IMUO
Guest WukenBloodstar Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Perry Saturn.. I was watching Raven/Saturn VS Kidman/Rey VS Malenko/Benoit. Saturn really impressed me in that match..never thought I'd see him do most of the moves he used. I've always been a Saturn fan tho'..
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Perry Saturn.. I was watching Raven/Saturn VS Kidman/Rey VS Malenko/Benoit. Saturn really impressed me in that match..never thought I'd see him do most of the moves he used. I've always been a Saturn fan tho'.. well ya beat me to it didn't ya. Saturn and Kanyon as the eliminators would be mjaw droppingly awesome. Raven might actually get over more in a manager role than a wrestling one at this point. I will admit tho, saturn's injuries have affected his mobility.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Poor D'Lo. He could have been over. I was a bit of a mark for him until the stupid Indian tag team gimmick. I popped huge for him on Raw simply just because it was cool to see the guy back on TV. And btw, I think we're talking about people who have all the skills to be over but are underused. Some would say Benoit doesn't have the mic skill (unless "What you talkin' aboot?!"becomes a catchphrase soon.)
Guest The Son of Sting Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Dreamer, after the reaction he got last week they should build on it.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Dreamer, after the reaction he got last week they should build on it. Sure. All they need to do is play in Philly every week, and Dreamer will be main eventing in no time.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 It's hard to tell with all the edit in crap that goes into Smackdown! but "Team Canada" should be the most over, hated Men in the Company. They should be beating everyone and pissing the fans off. Not, being jobbed out to Friggen Rikishi. Same can be said about Benoit and Eddie.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Could Test be a hugely over face/heel if given the right program? No. But Christian and Lance Storm could be super over.
Guest Brian Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Booker T could be over huge with a few credible wins and maybe a pay per view appearance that matters. Brock needed to be handled stronger. He was made to look much too weak for his push. Eddie should drop the accent, I think the fans woul;d react to him better. Benoit needs more time to wrestle. If Noble gave promos more like last Thursday, he could be over. That said, it's probably the last time we hear him speak. They blew Christian at the E&C split. He could have played heel and held onto the title for a while and dodged Edge for a few months, than the final confrontation woud have meant something. And if he ever blew a casket like Jericho did when he was feuding with the Rock going into Royal Rumble. Which reminds me how much better HHH and Jericho's reigns would have been if Jericho had been booked stronger.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Don't worry about Benoit. They are just taking it easy with him. He could be wrestling Shawn Stasiak on Heat, and get over on his ringwork alone. And whoever said Eddy Guerrero, not counting Vince McMahon who is on both shows, Eddy is the most over heel on RAW. Brock Lesnar is the easy pick. He would be super over if WWE booked him better. Christian, Test & Storm are over now. They weren't a month ago, but the Team Canada angle completely changed it. They aren't being pushed properly either and could have their heat killed at any time, but for right now they are over.
