Is Rock just out of new things to say

Rock's big-time-mega-hyped-3.3-rating-return was so goddamn boring.

Is anyone else tired of his trash talking on the mic? It seems too rehersed, the heel always has to say something dumb just so Rock can zing back with something "witty"...nothing seems spontanious what so ever.

His little thing where he mocks the person doing with whiney voice in attempts copy them is not funny...his abuse of the Coach and other 3rd string on air talent is old.

And having every chick who interviews him drool all over themselves is just slow boring tv.

He hasn't made me laugh in a long long time. I miss MY People's Champ...Rocky from 1998 (before the good guy shit)

I can still get into his matches...but yeah, his mic work is becoming very tiresome, IMO.

His matches are great...his little Hogan like comebacks are tiresome...but in 2001 he had great matches with Austin, Angle, HHH, Jericho, Booker, and just about anyone else.

He's a much more complete worker then he was just a few years ago...now if he could just not talk anymore...

It seems he is running out of new material. His act is played out. I would prefer him as a cocky, Hollywood character who doesn't always pander to the fans. The fans can't respect someone who always sucks up to them.

I was laughing my ass off when he was behind Hogan making fun of him... I guess I'm the minority...

I changed the channel when Rock did his thing with Busta Rhymes, and then I went back right in time to hear Angle call him "Puff Daddy", that was great.

But yeah, the Rock isn't funny and I don't enjoy his mic work anymore.

I don't like his mic work or his wrestling either. He should never be allowed to try any kind of submission hold ever.

I've been tired of The Rock's face act for a few years now. It's very awkward seeing a face act like a dick to interviewers and his rivals unless he's a heel, then it would work because a character like that is supposed to actually piss you off, not make you cheer for it. I also haven't found his ringwork since turning face in 1999 that good either since he's all "Punch-punch-punch-punch-spit in hand-punch, DDT, Spinebuster or the Rock Bottom, People's Elbow", which makes him even more stale than the average WWE wrestler.

I've never liked Rock's ring ability, however I've always cared about his matches. If I ever watch a PPV I always seem to watch the Rock's match with great interest. Why? Because Rock's a good character who is almost always in good storylines that made me actually care whether I saw it or not. This is what seperates the Rocks and Steve Austins of the world from Billy Kidmans and Lance Storms.

I like the Rock, but outside of Angle's "Puff Daddy" remark, that interview segment on SD! was brutally dull. Mocking Hogan behind his back was only mildly amusing.

But Rocky...the WWE/f hasn't produced a feud nearly as good as the one he had with Jericho that ended at this year's Royal Rumble.

Just so Incandenza knows, Fucking isn't a place in Austria, it's a politician. That was your stereotypical "Vote For Me" sign.

Dude, where have you been? The Rock's mic work has been boring, cut-and-paste the catch-phrases since at least 2000. I haven't really seen much of him before then to know if it's been stale for even longer, since I don't like The Rock and never have, his mic work being one of the prime reasons. I mean when the funniest part of The Rock's 20 minute promo is when Angle calls Busta Rhymes "Puff Daddy", you know you're in trouble.

I think if The Rock went heel and became some cocky, "I'm electrifying in sports AND entertainment, what have you lazy fat-asses in the audience ever done?!", type character, kinda like The Living Legend Chris Jericho, he'd be much more interesting.

Why did he stop using his old catchphrases? I haven't heard "Know your role and shut your mouth!" "rootie Poo" or "Know your role blvd and jabroni drive" in a long time....

The Bust Daddy portion felt like a talk show. Lame comedy, a musical number, and the end made me cringe.

"Congratulations on all of you success. Halloween opens tomorrow."

Yeah, the Rock has nothing new to say, because we all know these guys do:

HHH: I am the game, uhhhh!

RVD: Whatever man, everything's cool when your RVD!

HBK: *insert random shoot interview and shout-out to clique members*

Angle: I don't suck! You suck! And oh yeah *insert home sports team* suck too!

Jrericho: I am a living legend! *follow up with whiny promo*

Eddie: Hey Esse. What's happenin' Holmes? You like my latino heat Esse? *etc*

Flair: Whoooo! *followed by same promo for the last 20 years, limos, women, etc.*

Paul E.: I made ECW! I made attitude! I made *insert wrestler name*! *etc.*

Vince: I enjoy destroying people's lives! You're FIRED! *continue on in this way, plus hit on some hot chicks*

...and so on.

OK, HWM, the problem with a lot of your examples is they may say the same thing, but they use DIFFERENT words. The Rock just says the EXACT SAME THING, EVERY TIME! It just bugs the hell out of me.

Also, since all those guys are "terrible" mic workers, name one mic worker other than The Rock that you think is good.

His mocking of the nWo a few months back was classic stuff, in my mind. Plus the return promo on Raw got the message across, if nothing else.

Every month there's a different thread about Rock not being good on the microphone since '98, blah blah blah. In 2000-2001, Rock cut some promo's that were just as good as anything he did as a heel. Am I the only one who laments for the loss of the "Benoit can't be on the cover of GQ" and "Big Show's one talent" promo's that got so much heat? The promos he did with Jericho, Austin, and this year with Hogan, were all the stuff of legends. People always remember things as being better than they really were.
