Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Think about it...the WWE now has every great wrestling mind underneath their roof. Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman, Pat Patterson, Johnny Ace, Jim Cornette, Dusty Rhodes (allegedly)...the list just goes on and on. The only two guys that they are missing are Terry Taylor and Vince Russo, who I do not consider to be a great wrestling mind but I guess some people do. If they can't turn the product around with this staff, then the wrestling biz is in big, big trouble.
Guest Prince Paul Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 But still, the only people with clout are Vince, Steph, Heyman and Gewirtz (to a degree) and Dusty (maybe, still not much clout if he is with them). Bischoff will have no pull. Same old writers.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 I'm not saying that they should give Bischoff a ton of pull, but they should at least use him as a creative consultant. Like him or not, he has come up with some cutting-edge TV, and the WWE needs that right now. As far as giving Bischoff "pull" -- Bischoff may be a prick, but at least he has the interests of the wrestlers and not himself in mind. Which is more than I can say for HHH, who (as a wrestler, not an agent) deserves no pull or stroke whatsoever.
Guest myburninghammer Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 you could have every brilliant person whose ever put together a match and it still wouldn't matter...so far as the actual booking pattern goes "swerve, booked weak, extra swerve, booked weak, angle killed" then there's no way anyone can make fans interested in the product, just as there no way any of the wrestlers get make the action interesting if they're constantly forced to wrestle in one massively dated style.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 The best bookers of the 80's and 90's. Now that we are in the new millenium, we need new minds with new thoughts. Not old, recycled garbage.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Vince still makes the final decision. He determines the direction. They could have a thousand monkeys writing on a thousand typewriters and still come up with crap if the direction is still unclear. It was the best of times, it was the BLURST OF TIMES?!

I'm sure it feels good to have Bischoff working for HIM. But he's not going to let Uncle Eric control, or contribute to his programming.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 He should let Uncle Eric contribute...why? Because while Vince McMahon has failed miserably on two invasion angles in a row, Uncle Eric was able to take an invasion angle and beat the WWF for 80+ weeks in a row with it. So Vince is batting 0-2 and Uncle Eric is batting 1-0 in my book.
Guest BobbyBacklund Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 I really don't know how it's possible for someone to bat 1-0, but whatever...
