TOO MANY WWF/E ERAS

I personally think the ATTITUDE era started dying when Steph became the head booker in the WWF back in late 2000 and finally died by Wrestlemania x-7 with the Austin heel turn. Then all of a sudden the WWE started having different eras almost every month:

1-Austin heel era:The ratings started going down because Rocky was off doing his movie and nobody wanted to boo Austin. The main reason the bookers turned Austin was to have him wrestle a babyface HHH at Summerslam, which it didn't happened due to The Lame's quad injury so the writers needed to come out with a brand new storyline that will take the WWF to the next millenium and they came out with......

2-WCW/ECW invasion: Looked good on paper but sucked ass on tv and ppv, due to the fact that the WWF didn't have big names from the WCW roster and also the WWF locker room/Vince refused to put any of the alliance's superstars over. The only winner from this storyline was RVD who became a breakout star. The angle was mercifully killed by Survivor Series and the ratings kept on droping little by little.

3-The Flair versus Vince era: It didn't last long enough but at least turned Austin babyface again, Jericho became the first undisputed champion,HHH returned but he wasn't that damned good anymore, the WWF started aking great music videos with WWF wrestlers in them, and it was the reason why we had the next era.

4-nWo era-Ratings dropping like flies,so Vince had an amazing idea, that idea was to bring 3 guys beyond their prime that could barely work in the ring and make them instant main eventers. As we all know this group of the original 3 didn't last that long. Hall got fired, Nash injured his biceps after working 2 tag team matches and Hogan was looking out for himself from the getgo. I almost forgot Austin no showed on RAW after Wrestlemania for our next era....

5-The WWF/E split(Desire era):Since Vinnie Mac and Flair didn't get along the board of stockholders decided to give RAW to Flair and Smackdown to Vince with different rosters for each branch. We also got a new small looking belt for HGH after he punked out Y2J with one broken leg to win the undisputed title, sending Jericho to midcard hell. The funny thing is Vince decided to give HGH a short title reign by making Hogan the new champ for only a month and then giving it to Mean Mark, the casual WWE fan immediately decided that enough was enough and the WWE wasn't going to get any better so they turned off their tvs.By the way Austin came back after "taking a break" from the hard lifestyle of the wrestling world so he could walk out again for good this time so he could go beat up his wife. Vince is shitting bricks by now, he starts hotshooting storylines by making himself the 100% WWE owner.

6-Ruthless agression era: WWE wants to push Brock to the moon even though the crowd doesn't give two shits for him. HGH still getting the superman push even though he is a boring babyface. By this time the only ones carrying this company is Taker,Angle,RVD and Y2J but Vince thinks that the nWo's poison could still make more money for him so he brings back HBK and gives them more another push, but it seems that God was tired of watching the nWold get all the attention so he send them a thunderbolt and broke Nash's quad. After this the team disbanded forever so we could move onto the last and hopefully final era.

7-The Bischoff era or WWE is sinking faster than the titanic era: It started on RAW last night and i'm going to give it a chance but I don't think this era will last that long.

I wouldn't call any of them an era. An era lasts for a long period of time. Right now we are, IMO, still in the Vince McMahon has a monopoly era, which started back right before WM 17.

We're still in the "Attitude" era. I used to say, the only way to cross to a new era would be to have a new breakout star go over Austin at a WM Main Event for the World Title, eventually retiring him on a good note (Since Austin signified the Attitude era). With this whole Austin fiasco, the only way to go into a new era would be to go over The Rock at a huge ME match at WM (Since Rock is the next guy people think of for "Attitude"). The bottom line is, the WWE is still in the "Attitude" era. That is all.

Well then, Attitude may well die at Summerslam, then.

There was a good "When did Attitude end anyway?" article at 411 where the author and most readers agreed it happened at WMX7. I consider this the interpromotional era. An awfully one-sided one since WCW wasn't even a company but just half the roster, but interpomotional nonetheless.

I think the current era is Work Shoot Era this started when Shane McMahon was on the last Nitro claiming that he is the new owner.

Chapters of this era include Paul E reforming ECW which started the Alliance with the McMahon siblings, but Austin had to be brought in since nobody cared about WCW

Unified Champions Chapter had the WCW titles being won by WWF talent, X Pac as the LT CW champ, Y2J as Undisputed champ

the Return of nWo Chapter had nostaglia run wild for about 2 months, Hogan was on top again, left nWo when Canadians did not know he was suppose to be a heel

the Company Split Chapter had Flair carry the company by being the figurehead on RAW, break out stars were supposed to be Bradshaw, Bubba, Lesner, nWo but ended up being Booker T and RVD. This ended when Beniot just showed up on a Canadian Raw show with no real reason other than to say Hi to his home town.

Now it is Eric Bischoff Chapter, which killed the WWE nWo since they were poisoning nothing but the ratings. Bischoff is considering raiding Smackdown roster main eventers

We're in the Desire Era...the WWE desires good ratings and attendance, but they can't seem to achieve either.

well multiple re-boots usually come before a company dies as per WCW.
