Guest Redhawk Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 How can the owner/chairman/GM/commisioner/whatever just kill a stable like that? In reality, Vince can't do anything if some guys decide to get together and call themselves the nWo. Or D-X, or Harlem Heat, or the Hart Foundation. I'm not saying that I want the nWo around, but they could have found a better way to kill it than Vince just saying, "It's done." That decision would totally be up to the nWo members. I mean what would happen if some other guys decided to call themselves the nWo? Would they be punished for it? Can HBK and X-Pac and Show not hang around each other backstage anymore? Can X-Pac and Show tag, but they have to call themselves something else? This doesn't make any damn sense.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Well Vince brought them in, and can take them out... I guess.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Well Vince brought them in, and can take them out... I guess. That's what I'm thinking. He brought them in as lethal poision, they didn't kill anything, Vince's motives have changed, and bah...nWo is gone.
Guest Human Fly Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 They probably just wanted the group off as fast as possible, and if there was a storyline for them to be eliminated they would have had to be on tv again. It was a mercy killing, it should've been done a while ago.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 But the nWo essentially is dead anyway. Nash is out for 10 months, Pac is pretty much suspended, leaving Show and HBK. Not exactly a stable anymore.
Guest AM The Kid Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 with Stevie, Ahmed, the lawyer and the big fat guy LOL, sounds just like the Nation of Domination.
Guest Redhawk Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Yeah, the nWo as we knew them (Hogan, Scott Hall, Nash .... then HBK, X-Pac, Nash, Show) are broken up, but what would happen if, say, a few guys got together and decided to be the nWo. Would they get in trouble? Would Vince be able to say, "I said no more nWo. Come up with a new name or disband."
Guest chirs3 Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 It wouldn't matter, because them calling themselves the NWO would never get on air. What are they gonna do, switch Lillian Garcia's index cards?
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Redhawk summed it up. They could just as easily had Booker T beat the Big Slow on RAW, which in turn would have made HBK so furious that he disbanded the nWo. No reason for Vince to break kayfabe and go, "Okay, this didn't work, it's dead."
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Well Vince brought them in, and can take them out... I guess. That's what I'm thinking. He brought them in as lethal poision, they didn't kill anything, Vince's motives have changed, and bah...nWo is gone. The NWO did what it set out to do. It was a lethal injection of poison. It killed ratings, killed other wrestlers heat, killed morale, killed workrate, killed fans interest.............
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Vince can't do anything if some guys decide to get together and call themselves the nWo. Or D-X, or Harlem Heat, or the Hart Foundation. Actually, WCW had a PPV where Booker T lost the rights to the name Harlem Heat in a match.
Guest GenerationNever Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 The NWO did what it set out to do. It was a lethal injection of poison. It killed ratings, killed other wrestlers heat, killed morale, killed workrate, killed fans interest............. BAH GAWD, HE'S RIGHT! Heh. Anyways, Vince brought the NWO into the WWF/E to destroy the company because Flair was co-owner. Now, McMahon has full control and Flair works for him, no reason to destroy the company. Therefore, the poison has been sucked out of the WWE. The End.
Guest jester Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Someone suggested an angle where Booker propose a match where he would retire if the NWO beat him, and they hand to disband if he won. I think that would have made more sense. Â But you know what? If the NWO is gone, I ain't gonna complain. Â jester
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 It didn't 'kill' all those things, it just kicked workrate, fan interest, etc. in the nuts.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 I guess the nWo really WAS a fan-interest-killing poison...
Guest Prince Paul Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 The NWO did what it set out to do. It was a lethal injection of poison. It killed ratings, killed other wrestlers heat, killed morale, killed workrate, killed fans interest............. Yeah, they were poison alright. Â It would have been stupid for just HBK to disband the nWo because Show lost to Booker. HBK's the newest member. Nash wasn't there. Pac wasn't there. For god's sake, if someone is going to kill the nWo, let it be Nash from his hospital bed. That wasn't going to happen, so Vince did what was right. Just killing them on the spot.
Guest The Superstar Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 I'm not shedding any tears over this logic gap.
Guest converge241 Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 wait theres logic!!!  Vince wanted to kill the company when he brought them in  looks like mission acomplished!!!! no further need
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 I'm not shedding any tears either. But I do want my $28 back for my WWE Shopzone nWo shirt.
Guest converge241 Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 did it at least have something on the back of it (the shirt)?
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Nope, just a tiny Shopzone logo and a tiny nWo logo. And the front had the WWE-ized version of the nWo logo. The original nWo logo was a little bit grittier, the WWE version was cleaner.
Guest Prince Paul Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 I'm not shedding any tears either. But I do want my $28 back for my WWE Shopzone nWo shirt. Just sell it on your site.
Guest The Superstar Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 What are you talking about? It may be a collector's item someday! ::stifles laughter::
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 Yeah, right. You couldn't give an nWo shirt away for free after a run this abysmal.
Guest converge241 Posted July 16, 2002 Report Posted July 16, 2002 i agree you could probably sell and NWO Nitro or New Blood shirt easier right now
