HHH/Bishoff/WCW/Alex Wright...

Call me crazy, but apparently everyone (not most of us) has forgot about HHH and WCW's past history. You know, I wish that HHH would confront Bishoff on RAW the night after Vengence, and go something like this...

Bishoff: HHH, you are NEEDED on RAW, you are the man who can make it the ultimate product over Smackdown, you are the greatest. If I could have signed you to WCW we could be on top together already, with WCW still up on top with WWE and Vince working for US!!!

HHH: E-Z E, did you totally forget I DID work for you and WCW and I was stuck wrestling Alex f'n Wright, and jobbing to him at the biggest show of the year for WCW, Starcade!?

...if they bring that up, I will royally laugh my ass off. Don't get me wrong, I love the Bishoff angle and him being in WWE, but that would just be too great to pass up.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

They should bring in Alex Wright and job HHH to him again. I know *I'd* mark out.

That would work, except for the thing about HHH being stuck jobbing to Alex Wright at Starrcade. That's breaking kayfabe. It would be okay if HHH reminded Bischoff that he used to work for him, and he let him go and kept people like Alex Wright around. But if HHH says on TV that Bischoff forced him to job to Wright, he'd be admitting that the outcomes of the matches are predetermined. That's a big no-no. WCW did this (Russo's idea), and it sucked big time.

Instead of saying "Job" HHH could say "You put sleeping pills in my coffee and that made me lose to Alex Wright". That way you can keep the angle but its changed enough to not break kayfabe!

WCW did this? Whatta ya mean?...When did they break kayfabe exactly?

I know they did, but I can't exactly remember what though...

8 years later, and Triple H may have had more titles and a better push, but Alex Wright still has all the talent.

Especially if Wright did that extremely homo dance that he used to do and backflipped off the top rope in his ring entrance. He would be an automatic joke. HHH jobs clean to a cross bodyblock and everyone laughs at him. AFTER Wright jobs to HHH, then job Wright to all the following, just to make HHH look bad:

Maven (WITH the broken leg)

Howard Finkel

Jim Ross

Jacqueline

Billy Gunn

It was at a WCW PPV. I don't remember which one. Three-way match: Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash vs. Scott Steiner. Toward the end of the match, Kevin Nash sets up Goldberg for the Jacknife Powerbomb. Goldberg suddenly pulls away. Cameras immediately zoom in on Nash, who is looking at Goldberg as if he were shooting. Goldberg walks away. Steiner and Nash stand there for a minute, looking confused. Tony Schiavone says something like, "Well, what are they supposed to do now? Improvise?" They then "improvise" a few really bad looking moves. Eventually Nash hits Steiner with the Jacknife and gets the pin.

This whole thing was made to look like Goldberg had deviated from the script. But in fact, they were doing exactly what the script called for. Yes, you read that correctly. The script called for them to break kayfabe. Russo, you stupid, stupid monkey!

You can't break kayfabe the way that Russo did it. It's insulting the fans' intelligence and it totally kills the suspension of disbelief. Russo thought that he was playing to the Internet fans, but even the Internet fans don't want to see a lame-ass worked shoot.

When you admit that the main event is fixed, then you are admitting that every match on the card is fixed. Therefore, you can't treat 3/4 as if the violence and competition were real and having the wrestlers breaking script in the main event. It doesn't work that way. Either the whole thing is a work or the whole thing is a shoot. Russo could never decide whether he wanted to be UFC or WCW.

Even the Montreal screwjob had more credibility than Russo's worked shoots. Think about it: even if wrestling was real, Vince still could have screwed Bret over in that fashion. Now if Shawn stopped cooperating with Bret and walked out, and J.R. was like, "What the hell! HBK was supposed to lay down!"...that's bullshit.

Russo probably got the idea from watching some B-grade comedy in his old video store...you know, the part in the movie when the actors make a cute inside joke, wink at the camera knowingly, and then the story resumes. See "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back" if you want an example. The only problem is that pro wrestling is drama, not a B-grade comedy. You don't see that shit in "Saving Private Ryan".

Rant over.

that was new blood rising that the worked shoot took place. they played up that goldberg was hurt in a motorcycle accident earlier in the day in sturgis and then after nash and steiner started the match goldberg came out.

you should also mention that after goldberg walked out of the ring and back towards the bcak russo stopped and goldberg just yelled "FUCK YOU" in his face. it was still a horrible idea as was most things on that ppv (Canadian Rules US Title match anyone?)
