Guest HollyandTestMark Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I was reading a smackdown spoiler and I learned that Tajiri vs. Billy Kidman was on the card. I believe they have had this match a million times on Velocity and Smackdown! I don't mind Kidman and Tajiri as wrestlers, but it is getting extremely repetitive and boring to watch them wrestle again and again!!! It will be awesome when Rey come to the WWE and their will be a variety of matches.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I'd rather watch those two face each other every night then watch Brock get a title shot at SummerSlam. You could insert alot of different WWE things into the Brock getting title shot slot too... Basically...good wrestlers against each other over and over is a good thing
Guest jtronx Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Actually, I kind of like how they've been using the psychology of their previous matches in each successive one i.e. moves that killed in match 2 being countered in match 3. I'd be more descriptive but I don't have the tapes with me!
Guest Anglesault Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 It will be awesome when Rey come to the WWE and their will be a variety of matches. Yes, inseatd of flip-flop-flip-flip-armgrag, we might see armgrag-flop-flip-flip!
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 The sad thing is that WWE doesn't care that this is the 1000th time that the faced each other. I guess they think that the fans won't care. All cruisers are the same, right? (j/k)
Guest Anglesault Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 All cruisers are the same, right? (j/k) Well, for the most part, they all wrestle the same match...
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 All cruisers are the same, right? (j/k) Well, for the most part, they all wrestle the same match... One could say that about practically every genre of wrestlers, though. I think that most of the cruisers have something that sets them apart from the other cruisers.
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Actually, I was thinking more of their moves.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 which involve pointlessly flipping.
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 which involve pointlessly flipping. Not always....are you forgeting the Hurricane's chockslam?
Guest Ripper Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 I'm in the train of thought that I will never tire of Good matches. Alot of people got tired of HHH/Rock every Monday back in the day, but as long as the matches were good, I was happy. So what RVD/Lynn wrestled roughly 2000 times...I enjoyed every match and wanted to see it again.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 which involve pointlessly flipping. I think your thinking of lucha, which is a form of Jr.Heavyweight/Cruiserweight wrestling, but one which is very different from Jaime Noble, Kidman or Hurricane's style. Anyone who says all cruiserweights do is flip, hasn't seen enough cruiserweight matches. Benoit and Guerrero-the best two workers in the WWE are basically cruiserweights. And, heavyweights like RVD do "flip-flop" spots in their matches too.
Guest EricMM Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 AS, would you please stop? You are worse than a HHHater insinuating himself into a HHH thread. You consistantly use the same anti cruiser argument for the last ... forever. You know what? You have a valid argument. But they FIRED Essa Rios! He's GONE. No more of that! I dunno if rey will do that or not but please you aren't contributing anything that we haven't heard before. Once would also be enough. It could be construed as Flamebaiting too.
Guest Goodear Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 That's the problem when you have a "division" with something like 6 people in it. All the matches get repeated ad nausium. Anyway, its not like WWE can even book them right anyway... where did that Hurricane-Noble program disappear too again?
Guest Brian Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 "Well, for the most part, they all wrestle the same match..." Yeah, WWE cruiserweight all wrestle the same generic style as the heavyweights. But if you're talking about lucha, it's mainly because he doesn't understand the intricacies of the psychology and how it's rooted in culture. It takes kids time to pick these things up. Of course, lucha is different than lucharesu and than is different from All Japan juniors who are different from BattleArts-esque juniors. But someone would have to be unbiased and open to understand that; other wise they's argue about how they flip too much and despite not really flipping, they only seem to see the matches that end up not being good. Isn't that strange?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 17, 2002 Report Posted July 17, 2002 Well, there are a couple cruiser matches on Smackdown this week, which is a nice start for expanding the division. Of course, Rey arrives next week, and I believe Shannon Moore debuted on Velocity over the weekend, so perhaps we'll see him moving onto major Smackdown time too. 8 guys is a loooot better than 6...
