Guest Prototype450 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 This guy is supposed to be the next Kurt Angle yet I haven't heard anything else about this guy except him and Brock (a good wrestler but heatless wonder) Lesnar were a team Called the Minnesota Stretching Crew. IF this guy is so bad ass why didn't they bring him in to feud with Brock. - Just a thought. Juust a thought........
Guest Phr33k Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Why don't they bring him in to TEAM with Brock? If he doesn't get the Undisputed Title, that is. You could probably do worse, considering the shape the tag-team division is in. Instead of throwing together teams like Edge/Hogan, why not try one where the wrestlers are experienced workers with one another?
Guest Jerome Drake Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I'ts because hes Black. Just kidding. I honestly have no clue. I hear hes a shit load better then Lesnar.
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Well it kinda be a curse if they mention the development wrestlers more on the Ross report, Brock was touted on his Shooting star press, the one of the most impressive moves he can do but they won't let him do it. They touted on Waterman and Russ McCough whatever his name was that looked like a Love child of Nash and Big Show. But Gone! I think they should stop getting peoples hopes up by talking about them for the last 2 years but then gets fired because they need to Pay for Nash's Contract.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 If Shelton Benjamin is who I'm thinking he is (black guy from Minnesota), I saw him live and he wasn't really that great. He did a lot of armdrags, but had no real dazzling moves or anything. He was kinda like a black Randy Orton, in that he was technically sound but didn't really stand out.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 He did suffer a serious injury, not sure if it was arm or leg, but that would probably set you back.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Saw him wrestle Cena in a Raw dark match. Lotta bodyslams and backbreakers. An occasional top rope move. Of course, I was kind of missing everything in the match because the whole crowd was having a blast jeering the hell out of Cena (it's what happens when you give a hungry crowd some no-name as the first guy they see). Shouts of "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?" were abundant when he came out, and "Yellow Guy Sucks" (Cena was in yellow shorts) chants made their way around the arena. Shelton was equally unknown to the crowd, but was given the face role simply because Cena was so decidedly the heel.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I saw him on the OVW show on June 1. He looked pretty badass and he had a pretty good match, but it was obvious that Kanyon was leading him through. I wouldn't say he's the next Kurt Angle based on that match, but he had some good offense and his selling was alright. I think he needs a bit more time to better himself in the ring before he can put on good matches with workers who aren't as good as Kanyon.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Shelton is not nearly as massive as Brock, and he's more of a technical wrestler than a powerhouse.
Guest Prototype450 Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 sorry Phh33k I was just saying the good teams never stay together *coughedgeandchristian*
Guest Olympic Slam Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 I saw him take on Cena in a dark match at the Oakland RAW last month. I really couldn't give an opinion on whether or not he's a good wrestler or not but he seemed to wrestle like Orton, Cena and Chris Nowinski. LOTS of arm drags, hip tosses, powerslams and such. His finsiher kind of reminded me of the Dominator.
