Vince only intersted in booking the top guys

In the vein of ripping other peoples' content and calling it news, this was ripped from 411, who ripped it from the Torch:

Vince McMahon, who still has final say on all WWE booking decisions, is said to only be interested in top level storylines, and isn’t interested in hearing about mid-card or lower card gimmicks or storylines.

This could be an indication of why Smackdown and especially Raw (since Brian Gewirtz has a reputation for writing TV only to satisfy Vince) have been largely ignoring the mid card.

This sounds disappointing, but it kind of excites me in a way. Perhaps Rey and the Cruisers will be booked by someone who gives a shit? I mean, Vince has always kind of given the smaller guys leftovers anyways.

OTOH, it might mean Angle is going to be jobbing more now, so Anglesault's business is about to pick up, to use a JR-ism.

If that's true, Vince is setting himself up for failure.

Isn't Dean Malenko in charge of the Cruiserweights?

Also, I always thought Vince was more "hands on" with the Main Event. This isn't really shocking news since it's not the first time I've heard about this. Hell, Vince spent years putting all his effort into Austin.

Yes, he is.

He was the one who suggested making all those rocking Rey Jr. promos before he came in to make it a big deal.

This is why WWE should have kept Vince Russo. He always gave everyone in the midcard a storyline and feud.

"Hurricane! Jamie! Mask on a pole match! Perfect!"

"RVD! Brock! IC Title on a pole! YES!"

"Booker! Big Show! Sleepers-only~! I AM ON A ROLL!"

"Rock and Taker and Angle in a Medals on a pole match! BOOYA!"

That second part of the story was never reported, but instead said that Vince was taking a more hands on and only worrying about main eventers. Still, SmackDown seems to have a lot of focus on the mid-card.

Was this supposed to be new to anyone? I mean, have you ever seen Vince run-in during a non-main event? Thought so.

This is NOT good for business, because whenever Vince sees that a non-main event program is getting better/more popular than the main event programs, he will have it killed.

And if Dean Malenko is booking the cruisers, than why can't he get it through his head that keeping tha title on one guy for more than two months actually adds credibility to the belt? Don't give Rey the belt right away, Dean. Please?

Vince has always been high on the Maein Event status of the company. He believes that all the great booking should go to the guys who headline his shows. That's true, however I believe that the midcard is a vital division that needs strong booking. Mid-card matches that are good-great tend to get the fans into the shows instantly. Now, it seems Vince doesn't even care about the Main Event division anymore. There's no division that is overwhelmingly entertaining at this point. At least in 1997, 1998, and 2000 there were great Main Event feuds that lasted and had great blowoff matches.

Without a good midcard ppv sales will go down cause most people don't buy ppv's for just one match. At least I know I wouldn't.

I wonder where the line is drawn.

Like RVD for example...he is a midcarder...but he's feuding with the guy who will be champion in like 6 weeks.

So I guess RVD gets some attention from Vince now...then will be buried after he's done jobbing to Brock.

Can't wait.

Well Rey is suppose to feud with Tajiri or Chavo or something.....and I doubt Jamie Noble will lose the title to any other cruiser, so Im guessing Jamie is going to be Champ for awhile.

I think they're looking for a fix in that division, the upper writers who have more say than Malenko.

You'd think so, but recent history shows that they always give the Cruiserweight/LHW title to another "savior" every few months.

And btw, who is doing the women's division, and why it is being treatred as the mid-card too? For the past few days in house shows, all they showcase is the Torrie-Stacey bra and panties match.
