Guest Diesel Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 There is some talk of having Jeff Hardy record an album for WWE's "SmackDown! Records." Many aren't aware, but Jeff Hardy is a singer, song-writer, and guitarist. He plays mainly a mix between alternative to hard rock and roll music and spends a lot of time writing songs and practicing with his guitar.
Guest AM The Kid Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 "Paint mysellllf...I'll kill mysellllf...but the time I'm fourty! Whisper in the wind, ohhh, Swanton, ohhh." LOL
Guest AndrewTS Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 It's likely just his prissy poetry put to wussy music. I think it's known in modern circles as "emo." I expect it to suck balls more than Jeff Hardy himself is rumored to. Besides, I'm a heavy metal and blues/rock fan. In other words, crap doesn't appeal to me. However, if his songs had viewed messages about what a dick HHH is, then maybe I'd download for kicks.
Guest Ripper Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Shannon Moore is also in the band. It is suppose to be more of a heavy sound. Its great that people assume it will suck because despite never hearing them. Way to keep the mind open there.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Oh, so now after more or less being told to "wait until later" since the beginning of time, the Peroxwhygen album finally comes out. I have no issues with the guys involved, but how much you want to bet this is a DUD? I mean, aside from the obvious. The closest SD records got to the mainstream was "Bodies." Wrestling geeks are also unlikely to buy as the thought of singing wrestlers is.. Well, let's just say both companies have mocked it ("Wind Beneath our Ring", 3 Count, Stone Cold Steve Austin Is Going To Sing A Song For You.)
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Ill probably check it out, just to see what it sounds like
Guest Rock Candy Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Why do I get the feeling that if Jeff Hardy records an album, it'll be destined to go into the cut-out bins for $4.99 or cheaper? -Ben
Guest DerangedHermit Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Shannon Moore is also in the band. It is suppose to be more of a heavy sound. Its great that people assume it will suck because despite never hearing them. Way to keep the mind open there. Woohoo! They're reforming 3 Count!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Hey, it can't be any worse than Piledriver, right? Shannon Moore + Jeff Hardy = Boy Band? Is Peroxwhygen the name of the band? If so, what the hell does THAT mean? Also, I had no idea Smackdown Records actually released anything... I thought it was just one of those weird pseudo-labels that would've eventually put out WWE Forceable Entry vol. 2 or something.
Guest Neil-o-Mac Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I wonder who they'll get to fill out the rest of the band? Kurt Angle on drums? Hogan or Lita on bass (yup, she apparently used to play bass)? Chris Jericho on second guitar? Or will Jim Johnson (WWE's music guy) just fill in the gaps? Or maybe it's just other guys that Jeff and Shannon know. On a bit of a tangent, I'd like to see musically talented WWE guys get together and record some stuff (not cheesy wrestling songs a la 'Dance With The Taker', or 'I Wanna Be A Hulkamaniac' or BS like that, just proper music). Put Kurt on the drums, Hogan or Lita on the bass, Jericho and Jeff on guitars, Buh Buh Ray Dudley on keys and have Jericho singing as well as playing guitar, and you may well be onto something. Something decidedly wierd though (I mean, apparently Kurt's last drumming performance was playing a set with Jimmy Buffet, Hogan played disco, Jericho's in an old-school metal band and Jeff Hardy has a definite Matt Bellamy from Muse kinda vibe to him, so Foley only knows what'd happen).
Guest AndrewTS Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Shannon Moore is also in the band. It is suppose to be more of a heavy sound. Its great that people assume it will suck because despite never hearing them. Way to keep the mind open there. Heh...I assume so, but would download it for a listen. However, past track records show that wrestlers + music = crap. In other words, I would not blindly buy something like that for 15 bucks.
Guest AndrewisyourHero Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Eh, could be worse. Hogan could cut another album.
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Just imagine its all the NC boys that trained together Hardy Boys with Jeff lead singing LOL Shannon Moore and Shane Helms backup Vocalists Christian York on drums Joey Matthews on Keyboard
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I'm betting on it sounding like Incubus except even more rampantly queer. You heard me! Rampantly queer!
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I wonder if the Jeff Hardy Experience is gonna do a cover of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 However, past track records show that wrestlers + music = crap. I really agree with that, I've yet to hear about a wrestler becoming successful with singing. Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore obviously could fail if it's about Jeff Hardy's poetry shit with a soft tune to it that sounds as wimpy as the "Girls in Cars" track WWE used for the Strike Force.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Can't be any worse than Fozzy.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Jeff Hardy can't even talk, how the hell is he going to sing?
Guest Flyboy Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Jeff Hardy can't even talk, how the hell is he going to sing? Heh! Maybe he'll get on an acid trip or something...
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Maybe he can he can get some piped in feature lyrics from THE SHOCKMASTER! Jeff: TAKEW! I'B STIW STANDEEN! SHOCKMASTER: Hey you wanna peice of me? *falls through the recording booth* Sorry.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I can do a perfect Jeff Hardy impression after his ladder match with Taker... it's scary.
Guest chirs3 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Eh, could be worse. Hogan could cut another album. ... another?
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I can do a perfect Jeff Hardy impression after his ladder match with Taker... it's scary. Yes, but can you play guitar? You can? Hell, you're in the band.
Guest Goodear Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 Heh...I assume so, but would download it for a listen. However, past track records show that wrestlers + music = crap. How soon they forget the song stylings of one The Mountie... who can forget his wonderful rendition of I AM THE MOUNTIE... To whit I YAM THE MOUNTIE I'M HANDSOME I'M BRAVE I'M STRONG I YAM THE MOUNTIE AND I ENFORCE DAH LAW OH YOU CAN TRY TO RUN BUT YOU CAN NEVAH HIDE I YAM THE MOUNTIE AND I ALWAYS GETS MY MAN! soon to be followed with his follow up classic that truely displayed his wonderous range... "I'm not The Mountie"
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted July 18, 2002 Report Posted July 18, 2002 I heard that their going to call themselves The Black Scorpions, and Ole Anderson is going to be the singer (he'll be hidden behind a curtain, but it'll be his voice)
Guest deadbeater Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 Heeeeeeyyy!!!!!! Piledriver was a great song!!! Koko sang his ass off.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 Smackdown Records is the label of Neurotica, which is why they were shilling the CD all the time.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 Eh, could be worse. Hogan could cut another album. ... another? You haven't lived until you heard Hulkster In Heaven. Also, there's a website for this, but you'll have to find it yourself. I don't want to provide a direct link here into the mind of Jeff Hardy, because as much as I like the guy (and I think I'm the only one here who does).. Man, I can't help but wonder what he's on sometimes.
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 19, 2002 Report Posted July 19, 2002 Can't be any worse than Fozzy. what??? Fozzy's goooood, really i really like them, when i first heard about them i tought they would be crap, but they surprised me and i actually listen to them regularly.......
