Guest CaptRiker Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 Survivor Series is gonna be at MSG this year. Do you think this is a good opportunity for Hogan to retire? After all, its where Hulkamania was born when he won the title for the first time. If he did retire there, who should his last opponent be?
Guest bob_barron Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 I think this is where they do Hogan v. Vince since it looks off for Summerslam. Plus- I may go and I wanna see Hulk's last match live
Guest Razor Roman Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 It would make sense to me, but I always saw Hogan retiring as a WrestleMania type event... and I'm sure they'll want to squeeze all the juice they can out of him.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 It'd be cool if Taker retired at Survivor Series. I think his last match should be v. Kane and he can "pass the torch"
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 Eek, not Kane. They should bring back the 4 on 4 matches, they'd work well with the split, err...Brand Extension.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 When Hogan came back, I wanted him to last til WM 20 and retire there (MSG, obviously.) But, he probably wont make it...so have Edge turn on him at Vengeance, jobs to Edge at Summerslam, dissapears for a while, and Vince heats up the feud and when he comes back...boo ya. Survivor Series. I dunno if that will be the end, but it would make sense.
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 If you are going to give the belt to Kane, have him atleast a credible reign, like 2-3 months, and make him into a no-selling bastard.
Guest packwingfn7 Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 If your gonna have hogan retire, have another big match with The Rock or something. I just wish Austin didnt leave, so we could have at least seen Hogan-Austin instead and thats how Hogan could have left, but I guess it must be The Rock then Vince would make sense but the match would be so boring, at least The Rock can kinda wrestle
Guest razazteca Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 Hogan vs Big Show as the final match
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 When-do-Tickets-go-on-sale?
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 21, 2002 Report Posted July 21, 2002 I just wish Austin didnt leave, so we could have at least seen Hogan-Austin instead and thats how Hogan could have left, but I guess it must be The Rock then It's always escaped me why Hogan vs. Austin has always been a dream match for so many people. Simply put, the match would be TERRIBLE! If Austin "wasn't motivated" to put on a decent match with Ric Flair, a "legend" who can still actually, you know, WRESTLE, why would anyone expect a match against Hogan to be anything other than pure, unfiltered crap? Do you really WANT to see Hogan "hulk-up" out of a Lou Thesz press? Geez... Anyway, I hope Hogan retires at Survivor Series, against Vince. He had his last run, and it failed, now it's time to get him out. Actually, to make it more interesting, what they should do is play it up like it's a "loser leaves the WWE" match, and then give Hogan a couple near-falls over Vince to really get the crowd excited. Of course, in the end, Hogan forgets to take his vitamins and he loses and leaves forever. Well, until next year.

The main draw of a Hogan match isn't the techincality in the wrestling, it's his ability to work the crowd and his fucking charisma. People paid millions to watch 2 legends in the ring at WrestleMania, regardless of how great their match would be. This is exactly the same. The Austin era vs. The Hogan era. It's a match of the titans that will be entertaining on crowd response and hype alone.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 It'd be cool if Taker retired at Survivor Series. I think his last match should be v. Kane and he can "pass the torch" Taker RETIRE??? NEVER! HE IS HERE FOREEEEVER! MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA, I LOVE YOU MARK! Ahem... In any event, Hollywood Hulk Hogan's final match in the WWE, in my opinion, should be against someone HUGE-over...but exactly WHO is a hard question to answer. Hogan-Flair doesnt have the same appeal as it did years ago...Hogan-McMahon is set to be done at Summerslam, Hogan-Taker Mark will be reserved for Wrestlemania...so i can't see anything too major occuring at Survivor Series in terms of Hogan retiring. I don't think he will just yet... COOLEST SIGNATURE AWARD OFFICALLY GOES TO - "BretHart4Ever", that is one WICKED Bret Hart sig man, absolutely mind-blowing. This has been the Taker Mark

There's no way Hogan and Austin would even come close in that respect. Although I guess the prospect of dead era vs. dead era is too much for most people to resist? I admit that Rock vs. Hogan was fun, but I'd never want to see another match like that again. Oh, who am I kidding? If it gets the fans into it, given their sickeningly anemic ratings and pops last night at Vengeance, I guess it couldn't be truly awful. I could always go make a sandwich or something anyway...
