Guest TheBlurricane Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 I don't know if this topic has been done, but I'll start one. Who would make up your dream cruiserweight division for the wwe? For me...keep in mind I haven't seen every cruiserweight some I've only heard about. Hurricane Rey Mysterio Jr. Jamie Noble Tajiri AJ Styles Low Ki Juventud Guerrera La Parka Ultimo Dragon Kidman Chavo Guerrero Jr. Shannon Moore Elix Skipper Kid Kash I might add on later.....that's all I can think of now.
Guest razazteca Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 well I would add my favs from CMLL, NWA TNA, Smackdown, and some guys from japan or ROH. La Parka would be better suited in hardcore matches against Crash for comedy relief.
Guest Downhome Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Just off the top of my head, Dragon Kid must take part!
Guest Ravenbomb Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Low-Ki Shane Helms Dragon Kid Great Sasuke TAKA Michinoku Atlantis Christopher Daniels Lightning Kid (X-Pac, pre-suck) Rey Misterio Jr. Lance Storm Yoshihiro Tajiri Mikey Whipwreck Do they have to be alive?
Guest Zero_Cool Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Dean Malenko Ultimo Dragon Tajiri Rey Misterio Jr. Scotty 2 Hotty (the worm itself could get the matches over with the crowds) Psicosis Juvi Guerrera Chris Jericho (96-98 form) Eddie Guerrero Dynamite Kid (I hear he was better than Benoit during his prime) X-Pac (pre-suckiness) 'Sugar' Shane Helms w/ Vertebreaker Jamie Noble
Guest Downhome Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 If they don't have to be alive, or active, then I would build the division around Tiger mask I and The Dynamite Kid. They are, with good reason, both in my top five favorite wrestlers of all time. That's pretty good company if you ask me with Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, and Bret Hart being the others.
Guest TheBlurricane Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Naw they don't have to be alive Just whomever you like.
Guest Downhome Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 I know this will sound crazy, but how about Davey Boy Smith, early 80's version, when he wasn't as big and was one mother f*ck of a juinor weight wrestler? He was damn good back then if you ask me.
Guest tombstone Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 From what I've seen of CW's, which aint a lot. Eddie G Chavo G Rey Kidman Hurricane Noble Low Ki Jerry Lynn Lance Storm Tajiri (Dean Malenko if willing to wrestle) Have a latino stable of eddie - chavo and Rey. Kidman with a face slacker gimmick Hurricane pretty much as is, but using the Gregory helms reprter character more for fun. Also bring back the Vertebreaker and have Hurricane down bigger guys (Big Show, HHH) with it to showcase his superhero status. Noble as is, great gimmick Low Ki as a MANIAC who flips around for the fun of it, he'll get over like the Hardys did in late 99. Jerry Lynn as a total Villain, using the Cradle to KILL people. Lance Storm can disappriove the other CW's frivolous antics and can work a more technical style. The matches with Lynn or Eddie would be great beyond belief. Tajri, is just class. malenko, put on a great series witgh Scott Taylor in 2000 and almost single handedly rescued the WWF Light Heavyweight Title.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 If they don't have to be alive, then i'm sure you wouldn't mind cripples: Dynamite Kid Chris Benoit Eddy Guerrero Dean Malenko Jushin Liger Rey Misterio Jr. Shinjiro Ohtani Great Sasuke TAKA Michinoku Koji Kanemoto Tiger Mask Tiger Mask IV Ultimo Dragon The Dragon Kid Juventud Tajiri Super Crazy Jerry Lynn Jaimie Noble Chris Jericho And...Hayabusa
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Liger, damnit! I'm dissapointed in all of you except BR.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 yes, lyger, sasuke, TAKA, Togo, Funaki, Teioh then malenko rey chavo Lynn hurricane and that would suit me MIGHTY fine.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 ..I forgot one, and I can't believe it. Hayabusa.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 yeah, it's funny that i don't automatically think of hayabusa as a cruiser.
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Dynamite Kid (I hear he was better than Benoit during his prime) Considering that Benoit modeled his entire style around the Dynamite Kid, including the snap suplex, the roids, and even the way he does a clothesline, yeah, I'd say so. Hell, watch a Dynamite Kid match, then watch a Benoit match from Japan right afterwards. It's eerie. And a division such as this would need: The Amazing Red, and the Briscoe Brothers. Jay Briscoe is amazing, for one year in the biz. The J-Driller rules the school, and the Half and Half suplex is death. And Mark may as well come with him; Their two-man plancha is amazing. Why not have a few tag teams amoung the cruisers? As for Red, it's NOT hyperboyle. He IS amazing. One of his moves is a Shooting Star Press. Done while standing on the ring mat. Think about that.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 i've heard nothing but good stuff about the briscoes. Can you describe the half n half suplex? Is the J driller tiger driver 91?
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 jerry lynn kidman the hurricane rey mysterio jr. psicosis juventud guerrera (get the fuck away from xpw) jamie noble super crazy little guido tony mamaluke aj stlyes low ki chavo guerrero jr. jeff hardy
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 i think juvi's a lost cause. I've never really liked him tho.

Guest Idiot Hive Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 I am dissapointed no one mentioned Jodie Fleisch a.k.a. Dakko CHAN a.k.a fucking incredible.
Guest greeneb22 Posted July 22, 2002 Report Posted July 22, 2002 Rey Misterio Jr Psicosis Low Ki Christopher Daniels Blitzkrieg Juventud Guerrera Jerry Lynn Yoshihiro Tajiri Chavo Guerrero Eddy Guerrero Super Crazy

When did Benoit take roids, and does he still? I mean, he looks kinda freakish now, while in WCW he looked.... normal. I mean, I don't think it would really help his style of wrestling or anything. I mean it would probably hurt it.

I am dissapointed no one mentioned Jodie Fleisch a.k.a. Dakko CHAN a.k.a fucking incredible I don't really rate Fleisch as a great cruiserweight, but he is one of the best flyers in the world.
Guest Brian Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 Benoit took roids between the early and mid-nineties most noticibly. Naniwa's worthless now, and I hate to say it. The knees are killing him. I'm not too high on the Briscoes yet. They have some really good spots, but they're still a bit to spotty right now. A couple of months ago, I would have had TAKA, Funaki, Tajiri, anbd Hayashi in a Kaientai-like stable. their main opponents would have been Rey, Rios, Juvi, and Chavo; with the latter two prepping a heel turn after Rey finally takes the title. I'd dump Kidman if Torrie wasn't attached (because she's not leaving), because there are better who can fill his role. Like Daniels, who's probably the most polished cruiserweight on the indies, especially WWE-style wise with the high spots and good psychology and mat work. I like Lo Ki and all but I can't imagine him and Tajiri together, being that they both throw the kicks. Tanaka is awesome, but I wouldn't move him from where he was. I'm surprised they haven't re-approached Lynn yet. I like Noble and Hurricane's great without the gimmick.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted July 23, 2002 Report Posted July 23, 2002 if they can be dead/crippled/retired whatever then add: Owen Hart Dynamite Kid Brian Pillman Dean Malenko
