A new screening has just been added in Alabama...Here's the scoop. The film was made by wrestling fans for wrestling fans. If you're in any of the following areas you can come to a screening if you're OVER 16. Barry Blaustein, director of Beyond The Mat, will introduce The Los Angeles Premiere of wrestling documentary "THE BACKYARD" "THE BACKYARD" will have it's Los Angeles Premiere on Saturday, September 14th at 5pm at The Vista Movie Theater in official selection of The Silver Lake Film Festival. Tickets are open to the public. "THE BACKYARD" is about kids who can't go to wrestling school, and live out their dreams in their backyards, using weapons such as staple guns, glass, and fire. It also about one man's dream and journey to make it out of "the backyard" and become a professional wrestler. "THE BACKYARD" has been called "an absolute must-see" by AintItCoolNews, “Superb” by Dark Horizons, “Endearing” by Variety, "Downright Scary" by Dave Scherer, 1wrestling, "Breathtaking" by Colin Vasallo - Wrestling-Online, and received the highest "5 STAR" rating from Film Threat. "THE BACKYARD" premiered at SXSW 2002, and screened in The San Francisco Documentary Film Festival, The Atlanta Film Festival and The Florida Film Festival.
