Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Right now, it does appear as if Shawn Michaels will go through with wrestling one more match at Summerslam against Triple H. Obviously this has not been confirmed, but at this point it does seem likely. Credit: 1wrestling.com
Guest BionicRedneck Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Ah, 1wrestling.com, what a trustworthy website. Hey, im not sayin its impossible, but that pedigree bump wasn't too impressive.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Don't believe he's ever taken one before, and Jericho's usually isn't too convincing. For a guy who has probably taken more than anyone else on the roster, his don't normally look too hot.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 yep...Shawn will job.......if Triple H lost it would end up being because of massive interference and possibly time standing still... it's pretty much friend vs. friend and Triple H is the one that still has a year or more left in the tank so why not give him the win over the legend Shawn Micheals
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Pedigree? It looked like a botched sunset flip with Hunter not being able to get his roided ass over shawn. If it does happen, then yes, Shawn is jobbing. Of course it's his best friend, his back is fucked and he's useless but at least we're getting somewhere.

Oh wait Jericho is a mid-carder. Nevermind.

I used to have a clip on my computer of HHH giving Shawn the pedigree back in 1997 I believe... but it was ALOT different than the Pedigree you see today in the effect that it was executed like a piledriver with Shawn going straight up with his arms hooked and straight down on the top of his head. Suffice to say, it looked SICK
Guest Steviekick Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Oh boy... Looks like HHH will get the opportunity to "retire" Shawn Michaels...after he gives HBK the "Mick Foley Special", he's next to send the Undertaker, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Tazz, and Esse Rios off into retirement. Maybe he can bring Dean Malenko back for a one night stand

I'm not much for the new Ultra-Safe-WWE version of the move...

Guest cabbageboy Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 More important than "who is jobbing here?" is the question "will this match suck?" Seriously, with Shawn not really being fit to wrestle anymore this has the possibility to be a wretched match that damages both men's careers. And this is giving the benefit of doubt to HHH that he IS fit to wrestle nowdays. That said, while HHH might hold some guys down he is nowhere near Michaels on the scumbag-o-meter. Therefore I hope HHH crushes Shawn and leaves him in a pool of blood, which is exactly the opposite of what I should think since Shawn is the face here (?) and HHH is the heel.

Guest Nevermortal Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 HHH should destroy Shawn-boy. I'm one step away from leaving my HHHaterness...HHHeeldom rules, now..can he pull good matches out from nowhere again? Time will tell.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Holy shit, I've never seen a TRIPLE POST on this board!
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Didn't you just triple post in another thread?
Guest TheHulkster Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Regardless if Shawn is a dick backstage, or if he hasn't wrestled in years, he has shown time and time again to have a lot of pride when it comes to performing in the ring. I don't think he would return if he knew his return match would be dreadful. Another thing, which main eventer, besides Hogan, blows more spots than Jericho? He shouldn't be the standard for main eventers who take shitty bumps off of the Pedigree. That award should go to the Rock or Steve Austin.
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 Personally I'm going with a Jury's out stance on this. I'm gonna wait to see what the two of them will do. It's a definite draw for me. I've wanted to see these guys lock horns since the word got out that they might have had a match at WM-X7. If they have a shitty match, then I'll criticize the hell out of it. If they perform up to par and shock the shit out of us, then more power to them. I'm just going to sit back and watch them build up the program and see if it will pay off at Summerslam.
Guest Austin3164life Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 It seems to me like they are going to build for a match. Shawn has repeated time and time again he would like to return for one last match. Personally, I think his best chance came when Mick Foley suspected him of running down Austin. It made perfect sense for Michaels to be Austin's assailant, but that's another thread in itself. If this means the return of the Triple H badass heel that I used to love, I'm all for it. I just hope that whether or not HHH and HBK have a match, it's a good one.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 All we need to see is the Sweet Chin Music, the moonsault press, and the skin-the-cat move and I'll be satisfied with Shawn's half-crippled performance.
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 25, 2002 Report Posted July 25, 2002 I mark for Shawn Michaels. Always have and always will. Seeing Shawn Michaels face Triple H live at SummerSlam will be a surreal experience for me. Usually the babyface would prevail in this sort of feud, but I can't see a guy who will never wrestle again go over a guy who still has several years ahead of him. It will be an interesting match and I am counting down the days.
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 If Shawn Michaels Wrestles we are gonna hear about the extensive training sessions for the match, like when we heard about the training practice for the Angle Shane o Mac Match. and in the ring we probably only gonna get a slow "methodical" Mat work out of Shawn, maybe a Single high flying move. But thats all. HHH will carry him like he did Hogan.
Guest Human Fly Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I think HHH could actually do a decent carry job on Michaels. Since HBK is so much smaller her could just bump for his power moves. That being said who even knows if HBK can bump worth a lick anymore? I know HHH should win, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see HBK win this one. It's been close to 4 1/2 years since his last match and I have a feeling that he will win this one with Sweet Chin Music after a HHH dominated match. It might not be right, but this is the company that put LT over Bam Bam.
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 If HBK wins at SS, I expect there to be a re-match sometime down the road. The way the booking is, they are not gonna let a program live and die with one match with the guy who is going to continue to work not going over.

You sure it's not HBK? I've got the clip and have watched it many a times, and if the guy's NOT HBK, he sure as hell looks like him. Hmmm... maybe they could have him wrestle the match and take the job for the real HBK. It'd probably be a better match In all seriousness, though, HBK has to job, because there's no ability to sustain a feud. HBK gains nothing by going over HHH. Arguably, HHH gains little more, but if he's a super-dastardly cheating heel, he gains extra heel heat by "mistreating a legend", not to mention one that was once (in storyline terms) one of his closest friends.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 All I can say is I was going to go to SummerSlam, but if HBK was going to Wrestle HHH, Come hell or high water I will be 500% sure to go to Summerslam, because the only thing I've regretted is never being able to see HBK live (though I saw him as Commissioner a couple times.) He's the only guy I havent seen. I've seen Hogan, Flair, Hall, Taker, HHH, Rock, Austin, Foley, Kane, and the Hitman. He's my favorite, and I gotta see it.
