Guest myburninghammer Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I dunno if you guys heard, but that Chavo Guerrero picks a body part and goes to work on his opponent... Seriously though, he helped make Mysterio look like a million bucks, and his move set's been the best in the WWE lately--see tonight's swank Gory Bomb for proof. Too bad he's a jobber 4 life, 'cause he's exactly the guy--not Noble or Kidman--they need to get the division over. Spread the love.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 My one problem-The Abdominal Stretch came WAY to early. He had only done like two gut moves at that point.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Chavo + Eddies Music = 4th favourite in the promotion at this current time. He rules it on Velocity~! We need more helms vs. Chavo matches, they were GOOD in WCW. I wouldn't mind seeing a Chavo/Funaki feud either... AHAHAHHAHAHA I'M SO CRAZAY!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Chavo is definitely one of the best workers in the company. I see him just about every week on Velocity, and even if he always ends up jobbing in the end, I've yet to see him be responsible for a bad match. He does use pretty good psychology in his matches, which is part of what makes them so interesting.
Guest EQ Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I also mark out for Chavo... I'd like to see him go far in the CW division. I hope they give him the push he deserves
Guest Anglesault Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I hate to see this "I hate to see him go far in the CW division" bullshit. The cruiserweight division is restricting and will only hinder a guys career in the long run. I hope he goes farther that the CW division.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 God No! Just make the Cruiserweight division a relevant one, one that is worth furthering yourself in, that's all they need. The worst thing you can do is push a cruiserweight with the heavyweights. Because all it will do is expose the fact that the cruisers are smaller and weaker than the rest of the roster, rather than being faster and more innovative.
Guest TheDames7 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 What they need to do is re-educate their audience into believing that the CW's can hold their own with the heavys. Just like Rey did somewhat tonight and what NWA is doing with their X division. Don't forget that the first Undisputed Champion is a former CW Champ. Dames
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I actually like Chavo better than Eddy currently.
Guest ShamRock Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I actually like Chavo better than Eddy currently. Me too.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Whenever I hear the music I start marking right away...I am very glad that Chavo is working in the WWE...while he's not as flashy as all the other crusiers he's just so solid in about every aspect...he makes others look great
Guest Flyboy Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I actually like Chavo better than Eddy currently. Whoa! Now, that's crazy talk! Although, Chavo is damned good... his stuff with Helms in WCW? Awesome. ... Just do me a favor, Chavo. BRING BACK PEPE!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 ... Just do me a favor, Chavo. BRING BACK PEPE! No, they needed Pepe months ago, so there could be a Pepe vs. Moppy feud...
Guest Flyboy Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 ... Just do me a favor, Chavo. BRING BACK PEPE! No, they needed Pepe months ago, so there could be a Pepe vs. Moppy feud... Pepe would win... because... he's Pepe.
Guest TheDames7 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 For some reason, I think a mixed tag match with Chavo & Pepe vs. Saturn & Moppy would draw more money than Too Cool vs. Al Snow & Head did 4 years ago. Dames
Guest Zero_Cool Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Pepe rocked...just me, or did both Moppy and Pepe meet their makers by way of wood chippers?
Guest Flyboy Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Pepe rocked...just me, or did both Moppy and Pepe meet their makers by way of wood chippers? BAH GAWD~! You're right!
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 For some reason, I think a mixed tag match with Chavo & Pepe vs. Saturn & Moppy would draw more money than Too Cool vs. Al Snow & Head did 4 years ago. Dames Probably because there'd be better workrate and there wouldn't be a lame play on words involved in the finish.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Whenever I hear the music I start marking right away...I am very glad that Chavo is working in the WWE...while he's not as flashy as all the other crusiers he's just so solid in about every aspect...he makes others look great You beat me to it when you said that Chavo has the ability to make other people look great. Even though he seems to lose more often than win, he's doing his job (no pun intended) of getting someone over. I would have liked it if he was given the CW belt a few months before Rey's debut, and held it for a while. He'd be the type of champ that gets his ass kicked for most of the match, and then of course he'd cheat-to-win. This way, when Rey finally beat him for the title, it'd help get Rey over as a face, Chavo would be more over as a heel, and the the CW division might actually seem meaningful to the marks.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Ah Pepe... I had this idea a while back when the 4 Horsemen were still around...that Chavo and Pepe would come out every week trying to join...then every week they would kick his ass...the he'd get 3 more Pepe's and start his own 4 Horsemen...then it would work into something like the LWO (before they had the idea)...and they would feud with he Horsemen and blah blah blah I had a long story planned out in my head and everything...I hate to toot my own horn, but *toot toot* it was pretty good
Guest Brian Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Actually, Rey was really on top of his game and I'm starting to see what people were saying about him because he's definately learned to really to channel his offense and work on his all-around game. Ever see Mysterio sell that well? I've got to get his Puerto Rico work now.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Hey, Brian, I liked Rey tonight, but that selling blew.
Guest notJames Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I'm glad guys like Chavo and Noble are using more mat-based wrestling along with some of the fast-paced moves. My main gripe with the wCw cruisers was that it was all choreographed flippy-flop. It especially works since those two are heels, and can do the time-tested wearing down the babyface until the heroic comeback. More Chavo... less Valbowski. And Albert. And Mark Henry. And Randy Orton. And Hardcore Holly. And definitely less Steph.
Guest CHEAT TO WIN~! Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Al Snow & Head vs. Saturn & Moppy vs. Chavo & Pepe, triple threat match for the tag titles!
Guest Incandenza Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I haven't read the Smackdown thread, and nor did I go back and check the tape, but did Michael Cole--Michael FUCKING Cole--actually call the Gory Special? Am I crazy?
Guest notJames Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 I haven't read the Smackdown thread, and nor did I go back and check the tape, but did Michael Cole--Michael FUCKING Cole--actually call the Gory Special? Am I crazy? Probably after Tazz held up his special "Wrestling for Dummies" flash card... Actually I think Tazz called it first, and probably several times after, before Cole even mentioned it, but I could be wrong.
Guest myburninghammer Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Yeah, that was in fact Michael Cole calling the move correctly, although he called Christian's falling reverse DDT the "unprettier," so he didn't end the night in one's good graces. Tazz's calling of Edge's top-rope facebuster as a "inverted type of powerbomb" gets the dumbfuck call of the night, however.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Yes and don't forget Tazz's add-libbing of Regal's suplex at Vengeance as a "backthrow" I think I'm the only one who finds it funny but everytime I think about it , I just......
Guest Anglesault Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Cole called the Gory special, Tazz called the bomb.
