Kanyon was rushed to a hospital in Atlanta and had to go through emergency surgery on his shoulder which had caused an infection in his arm. He is now recovering from the surgery. No word yet on if this will further delay his return to WWE.

I like Kanyon, but what the HELL have they done with him for the past year? After he and DDP vanished for a while, he didn't come back even when DDP did, and didn't even get a lousy syndicated show spot.

Could it have something to do with how similar he wrestled to Edge--because Edge in fact kinda ripped off much of his arsenal from Kanyon (electric chair drop, downward spiral, repeated suplexes, etc).

Maybe they were adjusting both Edge and Kanyon to be a little more different? (Edge rarely uses those moves anymore) But why did they waste Kanyon by doing NOTHING with him for so long?

I suppose it's possible that he was injured this whole time...but...someone fill me in. :P

Damn, I was afraid that shoulder injury would put him on the shelf for a long time. This doesn't sound like a quick fix.

AndrewTS, he was injured most of that time, with a torn ACL, until finally getting healthy and working off rust recently (in HWA I think) . Now he keeps getting more injuries :(

Infection resulting from surgery can take quite a range of time to heal. Some bacteria that you can catch will not do much harm, others will require weeks of massive doses of antibiotics. I sure hope his isn't too bad.

Apparently Kanyon's shoulder isn't his only problem.

From today's Ross Report:

It has been a very challenging week for Chris Kanyon. He separated his shoulder, which got infected. Chris then was hospitalized to drain his infected shoulder and then a day later was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) to better treat a breathing problem due to fluid in his lungs. Tests are being done to determine what is causing Kanyon's problems. He remains in ICU at this time. Chris is in our prayers.

***Friday afternoon update: The fluid in Chris' lungs is belived to be gone, although they still don't know where it came from. Chris will spend the weekend in ICU for observations, but he is doing much better at this time.

First the shoulder injury, then the infection, and now fluid in the lungs. When will it end?
