Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Do you think they should just drop the whole burned brother thing and just say that Kane is some guy Paul Bearer picked up in Memphis to portray Taker's brother, who really DID die in the fire? I just think Kane needs something big to get him over, now that his main rival is off the show.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 he'll remain over with his current gimmick fine, i think. Has done since 97. Maybe have like a half-mask or something now that he talks normal, but if they remove it completely he's screwed. What else does he have that could get him over?
Guest Ravenbomb Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 why, a Giant Cartman do- oh wait they used that... how about a teddy bear called Mi- no, they used that too. a Wooden dummy named Ro- DAMNIT they used that, too! yeah, all he's got is the mask...
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Well, considering Kane is useless, they COULD just release him and spare us all of his dead tired act. But that's just me...
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Kane is still over. I'd keep the mask on him. I'd also have him return to save Spike during a Bubba/Spike-Big Show thing.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Kane will always have a job in in the WWF because he's big. He's been useless for awhile, but he'll keep his job there.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Kane was the most over he'd been in years right before his injury. He was getting promo time, getting some personality and humanity behind the mask, and the whole "Kanenites" think was ready to take off. The injury couldn't have come at a worse time, but I think when he comes back, he'll be waaaaay over on the haven't-seen-him-in-a-while, and because Kane isn't totally stale, as long as they keep him a bit away from Taker. One of the top faces upon his return, little doubt in my mind about that...
Guest Renegade Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Kane could come back unmasked and say that by the help of DDP, he managed to heal his inner pain, and by liking himself he managed to heal his outer pain and scars. DDP becomes Kane's manager as they continue the whole "like me, like you" angle. Yes its a sucky idea but its still an idea dammit! Actually i could see the WWE doing that if they wanted to piss on Kane's career.
Guest thebigjig Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I say unmask him and go with a "plastic surgery" angle... it would technically make sense given that he's been gone for enough time to justify it
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Have him come back maskless with Raven be his manager, and the storyline can be that Raven convinced Kane that the scars were all mental and so a mask isn't necessary. At some point Raven would turn on him and be a heel again. Either Kane could feud with Raven (if Raven's over enough) or Raven could manage someone else and Kane could feud with them.
Guest Redhawk Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 If I'm not mistaken, Glen Mason (Kane) is kind of an ugly guy, so I think keeping the mask on would be more beneficial to him than anything. Besides, any kind of explanation for why he's unmasked would just suck and piss off everyone. It's not like when Kane was all of a sudden able to talk or when the burns on his arms all of a sudden went away. An unmasking would need to have an explanation.
Guest I Hate Radio Shack Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 Have Jerry lawler start a feud with him based on the fact kane is issac yankem - masking himself to avoid a malpractice lawsuit for fucking up lawler's gums
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 Kane without his mask is about worthless... As far as a "big man" wrestler he's pretty good...but the gimmick itself is what's keeping him over. I kinda like Kane...but they just seem limited to what they can do with him
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 Leave him masked... since X-Pac stopped carrying the thing with him to the ring anyway, maybe say Kane had somebody steal it from X-Pac's locker room or something. Probably the worst explanation suggested yet, but even though I've got nothing against Kane, I doubt if he just came in all daisy fresh and unmasked that he'd be as over, although the Raven/"mental scars" storyline does sound intriguing, as a Raven fan I've come to terms with the sad conclusion that they'll never do a damn thing with him in the WWF/E. The closest thing was that promo when he was with Steve Blackman and Blackman thought he was talking about bagels, or something...
Guest midnight_burn Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 I'd prefer if he kept the mask on. It's gives him an identity, as opposed to just being Generic Big Man #254121. Without the mask he's no different than the likes of Test or Albert.
Guest mach7 Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 If they take the mask off they're not going to just drop the "Undertakers burned brother storyline".. they just won't mention it. WWE logic figures if they never mention it again - it doesn't matter. besides, they could always just say he had plastic surgery to fix his face. Afterall the "injury" that the nWo inflicted on him was a chairshot to the face.. HMMMMM
Guest art_vandelay Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 How can the plastic surgery angle work if the guy is so friggin' ugly? I mean, if I went to get some work done, I would certainly feel ripped off if I left the hospital with a face like Isaac Yankem's.
Guest Ram Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 LOL I say cut the mask to fit like Warrior's makeup was shaped. Saw his forehead was the only thing burned. Then have a match the Monday Kane's ready between Goldust/Xpac. Goldust first, then XPac, wearing the mask. Goldust gets on the mic, and says he has a friend who wants to speak with XPac. Pac raises the mask in confusion, and out walks a giant of a man, with a towel over his head. XPac jumps in fear, but the man throws the towel off revealing Kane - BAK IN AKTION!~ After the attack, throw Kane with Goldust to put him over like Booker for a few segments, and then enter him into the main. Oh and fire XPac after the show.
