Guest SlowChemical6 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Once Rock leaves for Hollywood later this summer, that leaves a main event scene of Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, Edge, and Brock Lesnar. There was a mass exodus of Smackdown! guys to RAW tonight, and I wouldn't be surprised to see guys like Edge and Hogan follow suit. You're probably asking, why did they send Brock to Smackdown! if they are stripping it down to a farm league show? That's obvious: it was only done to set up Brock/Rock, and once Brock wins the title at SummerSlam, he will be on both shows. Looks like Smackdown! is going to be the "B" show.
Guest Angle-plex Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I actually think Smackdown may be the better show now. All new talent, Angle (For Experience, high quality matches), Hogan (For Heat, and a draw), Edge (uh....yeah), and the crusiers. I like it!
Guest Kid Kablam Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Give us the One known as Benoit!!!!!!!!!
Guest Shadow Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I think Benoit winning the IC Title was so that Smackdown could get that belt when he & Eddie jump there, now that RAW has the tag belts. I just hope they wait until AFTER an RVD-Benoit rematch at SummerSlam to do that, because after getting a lot of flashes of brilliance on a RAW match, I want to see what they can do with more time on PPV! -Shadow
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Give us the One known as Benoit!!!!!!!!! Actually, I'm thinking this could happen. Tag belts move to Raw (with the Canadians moving over), while the IC moves over to Smackdown. And from here on out, the Cruiserweights may get more time on the show. RVD or Eddy could also go over to SD in coming weeks, to flesh out the upper-mid card and continue on with Benoit. I'd prefer Eddy myself. Undertaker (since nothing seems to be immediately planned for him), or Kane (once he comes back from injury) are also possibilities for a move.

You plan on havin Kurt Angle stuck on a show with Farm Hands?
Guest deadbeater Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I think Steph will take Benoit, and/or RVD and the Raw women. After all, she can at least book women matches ok.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I see RVD and Benoit going to SD this week. Maybe Tommy Dreamer too.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Give Test back to Smackdown, he's not needed in Team Canada.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 No, Put him on velocity and have him and Albert feud over worst post Chyna IC Champion
Guest Scud Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Does anyone think that they are trying to even out the rosters or just trying to shock us by trading wrestlers every show?
Guest DrEvil Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I think their doing both actually. If it's a short term thing, then that's good, it creates some interest and new faces for the shows to work with. But this free agent frenzy has got one, maybe two more weeks left before it becomes a big yawn. They're out of most of the big names they can move, plus they've got to put a cap on it otherwise the entire split will become useless with wrestlers freely going from show to show.
Guest cabbageboy Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I'm shocked that no one has mentioned this whole thing is part of a huge storyline. Bischoff steals away most of SMDN's talent, thus making Steph look completely ineffectual. Therefore, eventually Vince gets fed up with it and takes over SMDN himself and feuds with Bischoff, and takes back some of the talent.
Guest buffybeast Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 No, Put him on velocity and have him and Albert feud over worst post Chyna IC Champion If you were going to have a match for the worse post Chyna IC champ, Albert would of course not be involved in that match.

Guest SlowChemical6 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Test brought prestige back to the I.C. title. And him and Edge had a "rocket-buster" at Survivor Series. If you are wondering where Edge and Angle got the idea for their white-hot false finish sequences, check out Edge vs. Test from Survivor Series.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 If you're wondering where the near falls came from, maybe you should check out every good match in the history of wrestling...? Anyway, Smackdown just lost 4...uh...3 of thier best guys. Coupled with the oncoming Hogan retirement/mid-match stroke, Rock leaving for movies, and the hopefully-inevitable Brock burial once his title reign sucks, that doesn't leave smackdown with much, The great Angle, obviously, and crusiers. But then what? Fortunately, it looks like people will be switching every week in an effort to drag us kicking and screaming in front of our TV's every thursday, so this roster thing may not be a problem for very long.

Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Bah. Screw Smackdown. I have pretty much everyone I want to see on RAW, so I'm happy as hell right now.
Guest Ripper Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Rock isn't doing that movie that he was scheduled to do this summer anymore.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 He was supposed to do one this Fall though. You don't really think that Rock will leave and Hogan will retire, and even EDGE will go to Raw, leaving Angle fucked, right?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 HA! you showed one tiny speck of respect for Edge!
Guest Ripper Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Edge will be the top face on Smackdown from now on. He is there to stay.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Does anyone think that they are trying to even out the rosters or just trying to shock us by trading wrestlers every show? that's exactly what they are doing

Guest Angle-plex Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Test brought prestige back to the I.C. title. LMAO! That's like saying The Big Show brought prestige to the World Title.

Guest Just call me Dan Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 It really seemed to me like there wasn't enough time on RAW for everyone. The segements and matches probably could have had more time and think about it, most of those guys who had matches need to have matches, save Bradshaw's crap and the endless Regal/Trish/Bubba crap. But if you had a tag match and something longer for Jericho to do, the show just doesn't have enough time to give everyone their deserved camera time. That really hurts for people in need of that time like Booker T and Eddy (who is really being de-pushed) and what about Goldust? What the hell has he been doing lately? He is probably more over than he has ever been in his career and he isn't even used! Smackdown will definetly get some wrestlers over there because RAW is absolutely overloaded with people and we will beign to see a lot of people lose time and heat.
Guest Angle-plex Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 RVD needs to go to Smackdown. Total combined mic time of RVD/Goldust/Booker/Benoit/Eddy on last nights RAW: 2 minutes
