Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Negativity = teh suq Then again...all of those things are pretty much true, sadly.

Heenan was his manager, if anything, Heenan was the one stealing Rude's heat (a fact admitted on Confidential). The Wrestling Business is not finished because if it were finished there'd be nothing left....ugh...
Guest Mikey2Dope Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Why would Rick Rude steal Heenan's heat? Heenan was his manager, if anything, Heenan was the one stealing Rude's heat (a fact admitted on Confidential). "On Rick Rude: Said he hated working with Rude. Said Rude thought he was trying to steal his heat" Bobby meant Rick Rude was mad at Bobby cause Rude thought that Heenan was trying to steal Rude's heat.
Guest thebigjig Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Just finished reading the PWtorch recap. Interesting stuff. Heenan is still the man no doubt about it
Guest BifEverchad Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I loved Bobby the Brain, and to see all those things he said, makes me love him even more. Bobby isn't an old bitter man, he isnt an ass, he is the Brain. Simple. So, all those things he said.....are infact, true!
Guest thebigjig Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Let's just say I would trust his word over ALOT of other people's in the business
Guest redbaron51 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 he's different from the humanoids
Guest TheBlurricane Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I like to look at wrestling in the old "frog in a pot of boiling water" analogy. You put a frog in boiling water it will jump out, but if you put it in cold water and slowly heat it to a boil the frog will sit there and die. In other words you're dying and you don't even know it. Okay that's pushing it a little. I don't think the business is dying completely, but I don't think there will be a wrestling boom for a long time either.
Guest thebigjig Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I'm really not a pessimist... I try to look at everything in a positive light. That annoys some people, and quite frankly sometimes it annoys myself when I truly think about it. But I honestly think that the Brain may be right. Wrestling isn't dead yet, but I truly believe that this is the end of the line. I'm not saying the WWE is going out of business or is anywhere near that. i'm saying that I don't believe there will be another wrestling boom... ever. This is debatable in every sense, but we've never faced a situation like this before. The closest thing to "competition" that the WWE has right now, is the NWA, and they, by all signs, are dying as well. Competition is healthy. We all know this. Without it, there is no spark or drive, not even for the fans. If the WWE goes the way of WCW in the next few years, then that will be it. I hope I'm wrong
Guest Vern Gagne Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 The Wrestling Business is not finished because if it were finished there'd be nothing left....ugh... He meant finished in terms of competiveness. The sad thing is who knows how long Heenan will live. He needs a feeding tube, and browsing through the article about Heenan he doesn't look to be in good shape. What ever happend to "Pig". I mean Schivone.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Yeah, it was Rude who was worried about Bobby stealing his heat, and he may have been right. Bobby was the kind of guy who could take the heat off of whoever he was managing if they weren't good enough to step out of his shadow. Hell, look at Paul Heyman and how much he's actually hindered Brock Lesnar in getting over by putting too much heat on himself. It's the same thing.
Guest Trivia247 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Poor Rude, WHAAA he gets the Best Heel Manager on the Wrestling Planet and he complains about heat stealing!
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 What ever happend to "Pig". I mean Schivone. I heard though his connections with Turner, he got a job broadcasting Atlanta Braves games on the radio (and hosts the pregame call-in show), Someone I know said he heard him once and a few callers called in to joke about wrestling with him. So Tony got to do what he wanted all along, call baseball.
Guest NoCalMike Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Hey, I was listening to the Kid Chris show that day. It is a local Sacramento radio show, and I am not sure if it is broacasted in any other cities. I heard the whole interview. An hour earlier they had Jeff Jarret on to talk about NWA-TNA, Just a day earlier they had Disco on. .....That show is crazy, one minute it is adolescent toilet humor, and the next they are interviewing wrestlers, but asking legit question not what their favorite food is or anything.....Oh and to correct some things....... Heenan on Bischoff: "He was a failure, he said he was going to drive a stake through Vince's chest, rip out his heart and do it again" Heenan on wrestling stars, "they get to much, too soon, don't have to work hard enough for it anymore" Heenan told a story about Warrior, about how Heenan was having neck problems so he told Warrior not to clothesline him off the rope, but instead punch him, bash his head in the ring corner, which will cause Heenan to fall to the ground, and he said, Warrior would get 3 bumps out of instead of 1.......They both agreed backstage, and when it came time to do it, Warrior just clotheslined him anyway like a prick, and when Heenan asked him about it backstage, Warrior said, "well if you are there I am just gonna do what I want" He then said, guys like Warrior had no respect for people or the business. Heenan on Schivone: "He doesn't like wrestling, the wrestlers or anything about it, he basically was in the business for just the purpose of having a job" Heenan on Jake Roberts: "battled personal demons, sacrificed too much for a piece of ass" He didn't go into to much detail as we all have already hear most of it probobaly. Heenan on Vince: "i went to bat for him during the steroids trial, basically lied for him, and after was all said in done, he just threw me out like yesterdays garbage without a thank you" Heenan said characters today are too stale, based on one-liners and not real mic work. Nothing compelling about today's storylines. He said he wasn't sure if he would work for WWE again. Kid Chris and his lackeys are suprisingly good with the wrestlers they choose to bring on and they are suprisingly knowledgable for just being radio DJs. They seem to know which guys to pick that will come on and won't pull punches, and just tell it like it is. As to where some shows just go for the big names that are looking to promote a book or a ppv or themselves. Good Stuff and they will probobaly have plenty more wrestlers on in the future......
Guest NoCalMike Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Oh and the whole Rick Rude thing......Heenan said that Vince paired them up. Rude thought Heenan was trying to steal heat, so Heenan said, "look we don't like each other, so why don't you just go tell Vince that you don't want me as your manager" Heenan said he didn't really care if he was his manager or not.
Guest creativename Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Is this the same show the Shawn Michaels called into a few weeks back, the one where they treated him like dirt? Or was that a different show?
