The angle to answer to all of HHH's problems

So...I've decided that you just can't beat the Game...so I will instead be joining him.

 

The following angle will do all of the following things:

 

1. Get him out of the potential disaster that would be HHH vs. HBK at SummerSlam

 

2. Cement HHH as the most over face on Raw by killing RVD's heat

 

3. Bury RVD...who as we all know is HHH's kryptonite.

 

Tell me...how could he resist?

 

ahem...

 

So Shawn Micheals got put through a window (oh sweet irony) and the main suspects are:

 

1. The un-Americans

2. Chris Jericho

3. Big Show

4. HHH

 

For the purposes of this experiment...it's not HHH.

 

And it's not Jericho for the pure reason that he doesn't need to be buried anymore.

 

The un-Americans said they had one more person to take care of...and HBK interrupted their promo.

 

Big Show was seen stalking HBK around.

 

They are so obvious that I am eliminating them riight now too.

 

So who did it?

 

That's right...Rob Van Dam.

 

But...a heel turn would bomb...

 

Yep...that's the point.

 

I've taken the liberty of writing RVD's promo for him:

 

(note the actual penned in uses of the words "whatever" and "that's cool" I find them hilarious)

 

"That's right. It was me. (Crowd slightly pops...because he is still really cool) But why would Rob Van Dam put Shawn Micheals through a car window? I'll tell you why. I've been in this damn company for a year now. Everytime I come out here thousands of people are chanting my name...and it didn't get me anywhere. "Oh...you have to stop using the Van Daminator Rob...you're hurting the boys" Well...the boys are a bunch of pussies! But that's fine...I'll work your "Style", and I worked it better than the people that they pushed in front of me! So...last week Chris Benoit steals MY Intercontinental title...because he KNOWS he couldn't beat me. That's cool...I can always get it back later...BUT NO! He runs off to Smackdown with Eddy Guerrero because Eddy knows first hand that they can't beat RVD! And you know something...about a month ago...this would've still been cool. But then he came. Now I don't ask for much...I don't ask for pushes, I don't complain about doing my "job"...pretty much all I want is my time to come out here and do what I do best on MY show. Because that's exactly what it has been...Mr. Monday Night's show! But then Shawn Micheals shows up...and he WASTES MY TIME. But I figure...whatever...there's plenty of time to go around. I'm still the featured performer on this show. Then Shawn Micheals went too far. Then Shawn Micheals went to Vengeance...and he didn't come back alone. He brought his friend HHH with him. AND HHH COMES HERE ON MY SHOW AND WASTES MY TIME. HE's been here 3 weeks now...and hasn't even had a damn match. But they still get more air time than RVD. "Oh...Rob we need you to go out and have a ladder match with Jeff Hardy...you have 6 minutes". SIX MINUTES! and why? Because Degeneration X is returning tonight! It's the HHH show now. Well I say that's BULLSHIT! IT's not the HHH show...It's not the Shawn Micheals show...it's MY show. Nobody in this company can do the things that Rob Van Dam can do. NOBODY. You all know it...that's why you point your fingers at yourself and chant my name...because you all want to be just like me. But they don't like that...you see. They consider me a threat. And they wanted to take RVD down a notch...they've been trying to take RVD down since he got here. No...actually that's not true...They've been trying to hold me down since HE got here. And I'm not talking about Shawn Micheals. What happened to my undisputed title match with Chris Jericho? Huh? Why doesn't someone tell me that? I beat Chris Jericho a few times after he'd won the title. Then all the sudden...I find that I've gone from the Main Event to the first man out on RAW on the day HE returned. Surley I would get my title rematch on the Royal Rumble card. Oh...but the Royal Rumble was all about HIS big return to pay per view. We can't have HIM being upstaged on his big night. Why didn't I ever get a rematch with the Undertaker after I was SCREWED out of the WWE title? Surely that DESERVED a rematch at the King of the Ring. Oh...but HE got the title shot that night. But I'm a laid back guy. The roster split created the opportunity for RVD to flourish on RAW. That was until two weeks ago. When THEY came back. That's right, Hunter...I put Shawn Micheals through that window because I couldn't stand to see to crippled people WASTING MY TIME."

 

Then HHH would come out and the path is set for RVD's failed heel turn. Now as a heel...HHH can beat him like his name was Jericho...and kill his heat like his name was...well...Jericho.

 

Before you start...I am aware that an RVD heel turn would not work...that is the point.

 

IT gives HBK his out of SummerSlam and saves us from HHH vs. Big Show (shudders). Gives RVD the downward direction that the boys on top want him to have. And it kills and buries RVD in the process of clearing out the competition for the top face on RAW for HHH.

 

As a newly converted HHH fan...I must admit...the possability excites me.

But you know what? I think the crowd would cheer RVD anyway. HHH is the guy WWE wants us to like, RVD is likeable just by showing up. I think they'd have to show RVD torturing small bunnies before they'd boo him.

I love RVD, but the writers just give him squat to work with. And if hes not good at memorizing... what the hell ever happened to pretaping those kind of things??

I was thinking he could channel Barely Legal where they gave him a pretty meaty chunk of dialogue...and he knew all the lines.

 

HE also delivered it with far more INTENSITY than anything he's done since.

I dunno, Beepseter. We discussed this back at WDI * thumbs up, foley grin *, and I still stand by my decision about this. It's impossible to make RVD Heel because he's just too beloved by the WWE Fanbase. He could concievably try your "get rid of highspots" idea that you had back in the day, but I dont think it would work. Fans wouldnt be booing him because he was boring, fans would just fail to be interested.

 

Plus the proposed promo runs into "worked Shoot comments" territory, and Russo has proven to us that those dont equal ratings or even fan interest, y'know?

But everytime RVD lacks direction...I figure at least this way he'll have one.

You know, I mentioned an other tread that I don't think it was Triple H, Big Show, Booker, etc, who put Shawn through the window. I said how this is probably like Austin and how it will be one of the "Babyfaces" who you would last expect to do it. I mentioned Jeff Hardy & Buh Buh Dudley because of their recent pushes. I didn't even think of RVD. Probably because it would be crazy to try to turn RVD, but you never know. You have me thinking now.

If RVD did that then gave that promo I guarantee he would be an even bigger face than before. I know that smarks would mark out big time over the promo, but it would also be impossible for the marks to think back and realize that every bit of that is true.

This is funny because I almost think this whole angle would have the exact opposite effect that BPS thinks it would have. I'm not really sure that beating up Michaels even constitutes a heel turn, if anything I'd like him MORE if he was the guy.

 

Mark my words, if there is ever a HHH/RVD match HHH is gonna be sooooo exposed. Wrestling wise, heat wise, etc.

 

As far as Michaels goes, is there really anyone who cares about Shawn Michaels anymore? I mean, the only fans he has left are 20 year old fat girls who are a bit too old to cheer the Hardys.

This is assuming quite a bit. First, turning RVD heel and having it flop might not necessarily be a JFK type conspiracy to kill his career....it might just be an act of ineptitude. Second, RVD can actually play a really good heel...thing is he played such a great heel in ECW that the fans turned him face out of sheer willpower.

 

It likely won't matter anyway, since I'm expecting sanity to prevail here and RVD won't be the guy who attacked Michaels.

I kind of figure it gauges how over (if you want to call it that) he is in the back room.

 

One every four months. About par with Kurt, until they went all wacky with him and gave him a title shot on SD and another on a PPV shortly after.

He stays near the top because HEyman protects him.

 

but if you look at his title shots...the logic behind them shows desperation more than push.

 

1. No Mercy. RVD was the only good thing that came out of the botched INVASION. So they threw him in the top angle to try and salvage it.

 

2. The Jericho shot. Placeholder until HHH returned (remember...he was to return at Vengeance...so they needed something to hold place until he did) as soon as HHH came back...RVD was dumped.

 

3. Taker false switch. The beginning of Vince trying to throw stuff against the wall to see what would help falling ratings.

Shoot promos are a fun thing to delve into if they can still get the angle over while also being "shooty" but I think it's safe to say that this one goes to far. Good effort and all, but the "I'm being heald down" speech always goes above everyone's head, and trying to talk about politics and getting de-pushed will not get an angle, or RVD, over. Shit, look at how completely wasted Shawn's promos have been on the general fan base. I, for one, have had my fill, and I'd like, for once, to just have a good ol' heel promo from someone competetant enough to pull it off, so I can have a reason to care. That's all.

If we get a HHH - RVD match im betting the crowd turn on Hunter and cheer Rob like crazy. I just see that hapening. RVD just needs to turn up to get a face pop, were as H keeps geting shoved in are faces as a face with no were near the same pop. HHH face pop seems forced were RVD's is far more natural.
