Me, I'd like to see RVD, Angle, Benoit, or even HHH take the WWE Undisputed Title from Lesnar. Out of those four, I'd rather RVD.

He may not be able to carry people like Hulk Hogan or The Undertaker every night, but every now and then he can carry them to a three star match or so. He has good heel heat, so he doesn't lack in that department, and he is capable of having tremendous matches with the other wrestlers in the WWE that actually have talent in-ring. In example Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, etc. His microphone skills are highly above average as well. Rob Van Dam: I think that the WWE made him drop the Intercontinental Title to Benoit, not only so that the I.C. belt & Benoit could switch to Smackdown, but because it is time for RVD to move on to bigger and better things. Even though Vince McMahon and the WWF(e) didn't create Rob Van Dam, he can't deny how over he is. That alone should be reason enough to give him at least a title stint. I mean, Hogan got another one because of nostalgia. Rob Van Dam can put on great matches, and he is improving on the mic. Booker T. Booker T. is comedy gold. Comedy equals entertainment, and that is what the WWE is all about. Sure, he may not have the best win/lose record since joining the WWE however he is incredible over with the fans. I don't see why he couldn't have a title stint. He can work in the ring and on the mic. So, one of those three men is who I would choose. Those are pretty much in the order of my choosing as well. Kurt Angle has already had two title stints however, so I think that I would rather Rob Van Dam get a chance to shine for awhile, although non of the three really need the title. They all seem to do fine without it. It would be nice for the title to mean something again. It should become the number one focal point of the company again. I think that the best way to do that is to keep it on the Rock for awhile, although we all know that won't happen.

He beats RVD at a ppv by cheating...then goes on to beat other top guys like Benoit, Eddy, Jericho, Booker... I'd run some kind of an angle where RVD wants another title shot...but for whatever reason (maybe he pisses off Bischoff) he never gets one. RVD wins the rumble and finally gets his shot at Mania. He wins. Then we can get a much more meaningful Benoit vs. RVD feud. And I would watch the WWE and never complain again.

Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 You have two options right now, 1) Give it to the best Performer (Angle) 2) Give it to the most Over (RVD) Seeing as RVD is the face, he'd have to be the "win the Rumble, beat the heel at WM" candiate. So give it to Angle, then let RVD get it off of Angle. Wouldnt that be a shock? Give it to Angle at Survivor Series (Wouldnt it be great if Rock could wait two more months to shoot his movie so he could drop it to Kurt at Survivor Series?), and let Angle carry it till 'Mania. Of course, Angle, Rock, RVD (and Benoit if you want to have him be the thorn in RVD's side the whole way to Mania) being at the top of the company... well if you thought HHH had roid rage before, I'd hate to see him after THAT happened. Think HHH and HBK can strech their feud all the way to March? Let the over and best performers run wild while he beats the DX out of Michaels?

The guy is obviously being set up to job to Brock to further the Great Brock Experiment. Booker T won't ever get near the title, he's been made to look like a jobber for so long now that no one would take him seriously. That's the price you pay for being a comedy wrestler. Gotta say RVD, he's never held a world title and he has a better chance of getting over as champ.

Guest Trivia247 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 agreeing with others that the majority of the usual suspect main eventers who hasn't held the belt should Angle being first in line Benoit I Think they have been Subtily pushing Eddie Guerrero up and could get to Main event stature soon. Jericho's ranking is a shambles because of his loss of the Title. No One really knows what to do with him. Its Unspoken but basically he is the De facto leader of the Unamericans along with Lance Storm, or at least he has them as back up. But there is no standing feud with him other than Possibly Flair which could be the Old Man's retirment match because of his Political Aspirations. What we all seem to be forgetting though folks is that we may want a Angle vs Benoit, Angle vs Jericho Angle vs Guerrero or RVD... But we just seem to want them because of the expectations of their matches. You have to have the writers Build up the feuds . And so far lately the writers have done little more than SQUAT in storylines.

Then he'd be moved to Smackdown where "Mr Thursday Afternoon" wont get over at all...

Angle for Emperor?? BTW, my vote would be for Angle. And incidentally, the fact that it took 24 posts for someone to think of Chris Jericho as undisputed champion speakes VOLUMES.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Here are 3 options I think the WWE can take after SummerSlam: First, Lesnar wins the WWE Undisputed Title, and hangs onto it until the Survivor Series where he drops it to Angle. During his reign, he beats Edge, Hogan, HHH, the Undertaker, etc. Then, have RVD win the Royal Rumble, and start a fued with Angle over the WWE Undisputed Title leading up to their big main event match at Wrestlemania 19. That's where RVD could win the WWE Undisputed Title, and start a fued with Benoit over the WWE Undisputed Title. The second option is much like the first one, except have Benoit beat Angle at No Way Out for the WWE Undisputed Title, and then have RVD beat Benoit for the title at Wrestlemania 19. That wouldn't be too great to see, so I wouldn't want that to happen. The final option would be to have Lesnar hold the WWE Undisputed Title until Wrestlemania 19, and drop it to RVD. As you can see, all these options involve RVD winning the WWE Undisputed Title at Wrestlemania 19. Basically, I have a good feeling that RVD will finally win the WWE Undisputed Title at Wrestlemania 19.
