Matt Hardy Punished For Obeying Management

Posted By Widro on 08.05.02

In what is turning out to be a very interesting story, Matt Hardy reportedly has heat with WWE management.

But unlike others who don't act appropriately or try hard in the ring, Hardy is apparently in hot water for talking up at talent meetings.

Matt, who has a reputation for coming to the arena early, staying late and studying tapes, sometimes speaks his mind at talent meetings, saying how the wrestlers are working hard, and how creative is letting them down. In addition, Matt noted how Tough Enough winners, who aren't prepared for the rigors of WWE, are pushed ahead of veterans who work hard and would perform well.

It is creating some problems in WWE that management and agents encourage everyone to speak up, but when they do, they are buried, like Matt Hardy. Ironically, his brother Jeff, who doesn't speak up, is getting a decent push.

The morale among wrestlers is generally low, that there are problems that they are aware of, but they are powerless to speak up with the fear of being buried.

Gee, the talented Hardy brother gets buried for speaking up about how shitty Creative is...

I never would have guessed.

LMAO, I fucking hate the WWE management. Someone tells them the truth and they de-push them. I hope when Shane takes over (and when I start to get into being a pro wrestler), the WWE doesn't have this bullshit. If someone gives a shit about this business and they TRY to do better (Even if it's a Hardy Boy), they deserve a push/less heat/whatever. This is just stupid.

Man Matt Hardy's stickin it to the man, but really it's good for someone to speak up to management for all the shit they've been pulling

the running for President is dirtier than wrestling, but when wrestlers are trying to make the locker room better they get punished

The funny thing is, he's doing everything Triple H spoke on during that RAW meeting(no, I am NOT HHHating here), yet Jeff gets a semi-push just because he jumps off of tall, shiny things and talks like a crack addict after a bad batch.

You might as well not even bother getting into the business then. Shit like this has been going on FOREVER and will always be a part of wrestling, for better or for worse. Of course, I'm not saying you should give up your dream if it's what you want to do in life, but wrestling is scummy and I don't think ANYTHING will change that.

Yea, I noticed that too. I wonder if HHH even noticed? Probably not. What a funny situation... but even with his punishment, Hardy was still "allowed" the win on Sunday Night HeAT last night... the question is, will he be "allowed" one next week as well? Heat with the management for doing what they want... how ironic!

Sure Matt gets the wins on Heat...but it's fucking Heat!!!

Matt hasn't been on RAW or SmackDown! in seemingly 2 months...Matt has become the undisputed King Of Heat...fucking WWE

Yeah, I suppose your right. I guess I'll have to really think about it when I get out of high school.

This sucks. Like him or not Matt Hardy is getting hosed on this one. HHH can basically run his own meetings, but Matt Hardy speaks up and gets buried. It doesn't sound like Matt Hardy said anything but the truth either.

HeAT's actually not that bad of a show... and if anyone's the king of HeAT, it's their only "HeAT Exclusive Talent", Raven!

See, the Tough Enough thing is what I don't get. Maven (before he got hurt) was a punching bag. Nowinski is getting beaten up every show. Nidia is a manager playing a trailer park slut. Linda and Jackie seem to be off TV. What veterens aren't getting a better push? I count Raven, Matt, and D'Lo ... but them getting creamed every night wouldn't be much of a good thing in my opinion.

Other than that, I don't have a problem with what Matt's been saying.

Seeing as how he hasn't been on Raw for around a month. Jackie and Linda were probably just involved in the worst tag team match ever, or any other handful of crap-tacular matches they had roles in. Jackie and Linda even being on tv was too much.

Cole: The WWE management..WHAT HYPOCRITES! They say one thing and do another!!

Tazz: You mean the Un-Americans, right?

Cole: Uhm..yeah! Damn Lance Storm to hell!

.............

Too bad, because I'm enjoying Matt's work lately, his match on Heat with Richards was pretty good, especially the final moments...well, time for a new de-push.

Well, with the women wrestlers, its not like there's some deserving woman on the roster that got held down. Linda was in like one match, and Jackie only sucked like hell (which is what she does) in, maybe, two matches?

The article posted by the torch also went on to say that it's been pretty unanimous in the back that Matt's put on some of the best matches of the night.

Tough enough guys shouldn't have been getting TV time in the first place when there are people much more deserving, which is the point he made.

I never said HeAT was a bad show...the best wrestling I see all week is on HeAT and Velocity

Raven may be "HeAT exclusive" but even there he's under used...At least Matt has a HeAT rivalry with Steven Richards

They had 3 kick ass matches!

In conclusion, I love HeAT (with Matt, Richards, Raven, O'Haire, Benjamin, Credible...I love HeAT) :)

Matt "King Of HeAT" Hardy...maybe he'll put that title on the line vs. Credible next week (actually, I do hope that happens as Hardy vs. Credible is always a great match)

poor poor Matt, but at least hes been inscribed as admirable amongst the smarks ranks

Oh, how so many of the people in the business, and on this message board, villified Steve Austin.

This is EXACTLY the type of thing Austin would do....stand up for the workers.

But ultimately, Steve got too weary of all of the fighting, and he bailed when he could.

So now, poor Matt Hardy tries to step up and make a difference, and he gets buried.

I don't know who I despise more - the WWE management, or the dozens of other wrestlers in the locker room who are too pussy to do what Matt did. Showing some solidarity with him MAY have meant management actually LISTENED for a change.

Oh, OK, I misinterpreted what you were saying dude, I thought you were implying that because Matt was on HeAT he was being depushed because HeAT was inferior.

And Vyce, there's a big difference between a midcarder speaking up and being "held down" than a main-eventer pissed at who he's feuding with and walking out.

By the way, my apologies for going off-topic, but who's Ziyi Corner, the girl in your sig, Vyce?

I don't like either of the Hardyz. If either of them are involved in a match, chances are I'll change the channel.

That being said, Matt's getting hosed.

Both Hardyz (and Lita) are extremely stale..especially Jeff. If there have to be spotfests, leave them to the people that do them well, like RVD and Rey Rey (sometimes) As far as Matt goes, the WWE would hardly miss anything if he disappeared. Still, he IS getting shit on for no reason, so I feel sorry for him to a degree. On a side note, I'm really looking forward to discussing the current state of wrestling with all you other smarks :)

That's Zhang Ziyi, she was in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and some other things which I can't recall.

That being said, I hate both of the Hardys, along with Lita. But Matt is being shit on by CC, and is being made into an example. And I agree with Vyce in saying that if more wrestlers in the back would speak up instead of keeping to themselves, the CC would be more inclined to listen and make some changes.

if Matt can get crazy over with the crowd by working his decent matches, then he might be able to show management a thing or two

Gack. As long as Matt doesn't do any crappy high-flying moves to fit with his brother (like the guillotine legdrop) and stays to his own style, he's decent compared to a lot of other WWF talent. I can't say I dislike him, and he would be a major relief from the characterless and heatless Smackdown crew's lowercard.

Oh yeah. And fuck the WWF. That sums things up nicely ;)
