Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Im having a total brain lapse, but I recall Shawn getting attacked, maybe around the time that Smackdown started. He was found on top of the car all bloody with the winsheild smashed in. I think they cut to DX in the locker room where HHH kind of implied that it could have been him/them but i dont remember the follow up.... any help?

Actually, it was the night Foley won his 1st World Title. Vince tried to fire HBK as Commish and he Superkicked him, so Vince went on Byte This and said if HBK ever showed up on WWF TV again, he'd be dismembered. So the next week, Shawn showed up the next week along with DX, and signed Vince and Austin as #'s 1 and 2 in the Rumble, and he promised a "Stone Cold Suprise for Vince by the end of the night. So when he was going to pick up the surprise, DX walked him to the door, and when Shawn said "I'll be back", Hunter said "Maybe, maybe not". As it turned out, Hunter gave Shawn the wrong keys to the car, and while Shawn was trying to get back into the arena to get his keys, the Corporation got him and put him through the car windshield.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I remember seeing that. That was the night HHH joined the Corporation I believe. Well, it was the night he turned his back on HBK and DX. The irony is that HHH attacked HBK last week on RAW, and on this other occasion.
Guest cabbageboy Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 No no, HHH didn't turn heel till WM that year. I think we all know the Corporation attacked Michaels but the nuance in the booking that was curious was the implication that DX set him up there. I don't think that was ever adequately explored since HHH turned heel anyway.
Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 didnt HHH join the corporation after that @ WMXV?
Guest The Tino Standard Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I recall that Michaels had done something to piss off DX before he got smashed through the windshield. DX walked him out to the parking lot, the "maybe/maybe not" line was uttered and then Michaels went out to the parking lot. I also seem to remember somebody in DX saying "What goes around comes around..." once the door closed and Michaels was hung out to dry. It clearly seems like they set him up, but they were never really pegged for it.
Guest papacita Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Yeah, remember when HBK became Commish, he turned on DX for the Corporation (remember him costing X-Pac his World Title match with the Rock). He also cost Outlaws the Tag Belts to Bossman and Shamrock, and was going around saying stuff like "I was DX before DX was cool". So when Michaels that's where the whole "What goes around comes around" thing came from. As for the attack itself, I think it was done just to get HBK off of TV so that he could have his back surgury.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I find it hilarious that HHH and Michaels could turn heel by turning on XPAC! Try that today.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Now I remember it. HHH attacked HBK after HBK said something that pissed off DX. Then, at Wrestlemania 15, HHH turned heel by joining the Corporation and turning on DX. That's how it happened. The Corporation never attacked HBK, it was HHH and DX. At least, that's how I think it happened.
Guest papacita Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 No. It WAS the Corporation who attacked him. Here's what happened, from what I remember: *HBK's on his way out to pick up the surprise, Hunter hands him the car keys and hugs him* HBK: Hey man! I'll be back! *Turns and walks out of the door* HHH: Maybe...maybe not! X-Pac: What goes around, comes around... *DX walks back into the arena, and the camera cuts out to the parking lot, where HBK's trying to get in his car, but can. He goes back to the door and bangs on it* HBK: Hey Hunter! Ya gave me the wrong keys! Hunter... Bossman (off camera): HEY SHAWN! *Shawn turns around with an "Oh shit" look, and they cut to commercial break. During the break Bossman kicks him in the ribs, then throws him off screen before knocking down a cameraman. You can clearly see Ken Shamrock's pants as they run off camera and jump him* Now when they came back from commercial break, Shawn's face was lying on the windshield of the car.
Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 was this on the dec taped raw where Foley won his first belt? I remember something was shot outside, but thought it was a Snow-Holly match or something like that. I was there live so dont remember all of the out of ring stuff. I dont think it was though as DX helped Foley and carried him around after he beat Rock..maybe this happened in Jan or Feb or whatever cause the title win was taped dec27th or 28th and then aired the next week. *head.........hurts.....trying .to sort out wrestling history*

Okay, that's right too. I just forgot how it went since it was in 1999, and I don't even remember what happened last night on RAW.
Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 ok so HHH was anti HBK, anti corporation at that point? and Michaels was anti DX since he cost the outlaws the belts in mid december before this show? HBK was helping the corporation but they attacked him? im going to have to dig out some tapes cause this is bugging me..just another convulted WWF mess dont get me wrong papa, you're giving me good reminders and all..
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Vince, leader of the corporation had turned on Michaels, hence making Michaels a face. Michaels teamed up with fellow faces, DX, whom he'd been burying as Commisioner. DX and the Corporation turned their backs on Michaels in the same night, because the most "face" HBK had gotten, was from mentioning the surprise which would drive Vince "Stone Cold Crazy!" He had made enemies of everybody, and everybody screwed Shawn. Remember how Booker T gave Shawn shit two RAW's ago? About the superkick? Well, imagine him being DX.... they didnt forget what had happened the last month before Shawn was hung out to dry (by the nWo instead of the Corporation)
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 and Michaels was anti DX since he cost the outlaws the belts in mid december before this show? HBK was helping the corporation but they attacked him? No. It was stated earlier on in the thread by Papacita, that Michaels pissed the Corporation off sometime earlier, and Vince kicked him out, only to recieve some Sweet Chin Music... One or two weeks later, Shawn showed up and that's when the beating took place. So Shawn was out of the Corporation by then.
Guest papacita Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Curse me and my good memory! :rolls eyes: Ok...this is what happened. HBK joined the Corporation a few weeks after Survivor Series as a face, and he did not like DX (although he loved Chyna. It's impossible not to love her...ask Mark Henry). On the Christmas Raw, Mr. McMahon was away and left Shane in charge, and from what I remember, he signed a match between himself and Mankind. Now of course, Shane got his ass kicked, and the Corporation was trying to help out Shane, but Shawn kept holding them back. This also happened to be the same match where X-Pac gave Shane the Bronco Buster to start off their little feud that would eventually lead into Wrestlemania. Anyway, the next week, Vince McMahon came out and said he was gonna make everyone who had harmed his son Shane pay, and he was gonna start with Shawn Michaels, because as soon as he arrived, Vince was gonna drag him out to the ring and fire him in front of the world. So they kept a camera on the backdoor all night long awaiting Michaels' arrival, and he finally decides to show up at the end of the show (tardy bastard!). So Vince calls him out to the ring, plays the video of Shawn getting his ass kicked, and he's all "Look Shawn...you're holding him back". He also played footage of HBK's Raw Promo from the week before Wrestlemania 14, where Shawn called Vince a dirty jockstrap or something, and said "VINCE MCMAHON NEEDS ME!" So Vince was like "You're a great wrestler, but as a Commish...you suck. So you're fired". And Shawn superkicks him, then the Corporation runs out and Shawn escapes through the crowd (AFTER humping Vince's fallen body).
Guest converge241 Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 oy oy oy im intelligent and have a great memory and have been an avid wrestling fan since 86. I have a superman like recollection of all wrestling knowledge Kryptonite thy name is Vince Russo!!! I mean godammnit i need a road map to figure out all this stuff from his time booking. Sure its not as bad as the Taker-Kane family tree or the logic behind the higher power/Corporate Ministry stuff
Guest cabbageboy Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 I swear Michaels turned from heel to face and back again about 19494 times in 1999. I can't even keep up with it. Seems like he also cost the Rock a match with HHH on an early SMDN show, then left, and then they did the SAME angle a few weeks later where Bulldog was the ref and cost Rock the title!! Wrestling was extremely popular in 1999 but that doesn't mean it was all that good. Frankly I like what they're doing now better for the most part.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 I thought Foley won his title in late '98...
