The logic behind the HBK attack angle...

Okay, okay...let's try to see if this makes any sense.

HHH is still injured when Shawn joins the nWo...the nWo announce that HHH is going to be joining them--apparently through threat of force. HBK threatens HHH (one of the times being as Nash holds his knee in pain after tearing his quad. *chuckle*). However, HHH was Smackdown, right? So apparently injured makes you a free agent again. Of course, contracts were supposed to be "open and negotiable," so I'd assume that HHH would just stay on SD for the time being.

nWo is disbanded the next week. HBK isn't seen the whole night.

At the PPV, HHH rambles on and on instead of giving a straight answer. HBK comes out, whines a bit about the good ol' days, and tries to talk HHH in to coming to Raw (despite threatening him not long ago).

HHH goes with Raw, and talks down to HBK--and wants him to be his valet--er, manager. Which makes sense because, well, HBK WASN'T WRESTLING ANYWAY! Somehow, this hurts HBK's pride, because heaven forbid he go from being an nWo manager to the manager of someone that is supposed to be his best friend. HBK walks out, threatening to leave, and HHH gives chase.

HHH and HBK have a heart to heart. Later, HHH gives him a bag, with something in it that makes HBK brighten up a bit.

D-X reunion!

D-X split! Wow...that's gotta be a record. SUPER SAFE PEDIGREE!! *poses, spits water* (Okay...maybe I missed something, but seemed like with the reunion the problems were solved, right? Or maybe HBK just didn't want to be a "manager," just a guy who hung around with HHH for no practical reason. Er...apparently so. At least as a manager he'd have a reason to be around.)

HBK is pissed, so next week, he waits in the parking lot for HHH.

Next week...HHH comes to the ring, gives bullshit explanation about how HBK blew his chance, and could have been his manager. Says that he is MAN enough to fight in this ring instead of the parking lot. Offers him one more chance to come down to the ring and be his manager, or fight him. HBK is found sprawled out in the parking lot. (apparently he did this just before he came out to the ring. VERY quickly.)

HHH denies it....

This week, HHH gives all the "suspects" hell, and at the end, HBK reveals (after the Atari 2600-caliber cameras are clarified) it was HHH.

Best I can figure out, HHH did it to make Shawn realize he was vulnerable, and needed to be around him as his manager because he could be seriously hurt if he wasn't (even though it seemed everything was hunky dory at the time of the DX reunion).

Hell, it would have made more sense of HHH put someone else up to it, rather than being captured on camera. Likely he was checking out all the "suspects" to try to appear blameless about this whole thing (see also OJ searching for "real killers"), but he was CAUGHT ON TAPE!

And yet HHH seems to act like it was his intention for Shawn to figure out it was him. Huh?!

Still, you can argue it makes more sense than the Austin thing, since at least HHH put Rikishi up to it rather than do it himself, and Austin JOINED UP WITH HHH to form the Two-Man Power Trip not too long after, due to some utterly retarded logic.

Comments? Something I left out?

That seems to be the reason, but it' s BS. OK, so he thinks that his best friend should be his manager so that the little boy doesn't get hurt by the other wrestlers. And when HBK refuses the offer HHH SMASHES HIS BRAINS IN. Yeah, that's how problems get solved between friends right?

well it was a set up, that camera footage was from RF Video doing a GTV angle, you see the fan cam camera man was actually X Pac. X Pac is angry at both HBK and HHH for leaving him out of the DX reunion, so he set up this big hoax, making Sean Stasiak wear HHH T-Shirt and wig and attack Shawn from the back to conseal his identity.

Well at least there is Monday Night Football now

You left out how stupid the entire logic surrounding this supposed angle is.

I thought that was implied from the "big picture." :P

Hey..what can I say--it's HHH. :P We've seen how he manipulates his friends and allies. What do you think means more to the Game-uh: friendship, or having someone around to stroke his.....ego (I resisted the temptation-uh)?

HHH the character is as big a prick as HHH the person--duh. :P

I expect more video footage to show up, with a possible White Hummer hit and run.

Yeah, but can't fault me for TRYING to figure this out. It just boggles the mind that people who can read and write actually thought this was a good idea.

And still...it's not Black Scorpion or Shockmaster--yet. And as much as I'd like it to not be Hunter, I see no reason for him to take credit for it unless he did it. Too bad it wasn't someone in an HHH t-shirt and a Storm Trooper helmet...

Actually, I wasn't overly shocked to find that it was HHH who attacked HBK. After all, HHH was one of the main suspects. The WWE set it up perfectly, in which they had HHH hunt down the suspect during RAW, and at the end of RAW, they had HBK show video footage of HHH attacking him. Now, we have a HHH vs. HBK match at SummerSlam, which I can't wait to see.

I REALLY hope you were being sarcastic about that.

Here's my question...If Greensboro had a Video...Why didn't Detroit?

But Detroit did have video, and it showed Austin getting run over.

The car was blacked out remember?

All I know is that WWE finds the longest, most drawn out, annoyingly slow and dredging way to present the better ideas they have.

They take something very smart, then figure out the DUMBEST way to show it on TV.

If you get that concept and can stick with it, I think the WWE has a pen with your name sketched, stenciled, approved, and carved into it.

...and add all of this to the fact that neither is as over as should be, this makes for a truly captivating and moving angle!

lets go into the simple path here

nWo named HHH the new member....

that was rewritten because Nash Tripped and got himself a Booboo

thus ending the nWo

HBK brings HHH to raw

HBK and HHH look to have a match...

Rewritten HBK doesn't think he can anything like his former wrestling days

soooo

Vicious attack

just to give him the excuse so those rabid HBK marks who expect moonsaults will understand your NOT GONNA SEE EM!

It's simple to figure out why HHH turned on HBK...

HBK wasn't putting out. It's just like that old ABC Afterschool Special....

Oh, that's right, Matthew...continue the vague references...

Which one? Weren't half of them about sex, half about drugs?

Not that I watched any (seeing as how I wasn't born), www.JumpTheShark.com had a description of an episode so disturbing, it has stuck with me for months:

"I swear some of these shows gave me the creeps. I'll never forget the one with the boy who decided he was gay and tried to pick up a guy at a truckstop and when he wouldn't "put out" got the crap kicked out of him. That day ended with him limping home with his bike."

It ain't always Shakespeare. Too bad there was never a quad-tearing, steroid abuse show...

Rabid HBK marks? Are there any left? I'd think that anyone who liked HBK's character would have grown out of it at this point.

And frankly--think about it: HBK's gimmick was that of male stripper. It wasn't as blatant as some of the gimmicks they did later on, but that's basically was he was. Although at the time I thought he was just a David Lee Roth wannabe.

With the mullet he had at the start.... Yeah I can see David Lee Roth

I just mark for it. I dont know why, its a completely pointless appretiation. C'mon WWE, just make an HBK DVD after this, I'll buy it, and shut the fuck up about him forever

(PS- Frankly I could care less, I've gone and replaced HBK with HHH, and then as soon as HHH decided to roid his career to death, it was RVD time! HBK till his back died. HHH till his quad died. Give me longer than they gave me, Rob.)

Yup...RVD's one of my current faves, but a best of HBK DVD would be worth getting. I certainly don't give a damn about the HHH one, in part because HHH with his mouth open looking all INTENSE doesn't sell me. :P

Oh, for the HHH of 2000...alas...gone for good I guess.
