From the Meltzer's site

Raw delivered its second consecutive 3.7 rating last night on hours of 3.4 and 3.9.

At least it didn't go down.

Oh no.... I was kind of hoping it'd go down..At least for the overrun so we could finally prove that HHH-HBK=NO RATINGS

nope.

but its going to be like this for a long time till we see a few new edgy characters (and no not RVD, Jericho or Benoit).

WWE needs something fresh, but what hasn't been done allready

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Kurt Angle is the key to the new "boom". He is the next "Bret Hart", they just need to f'n get on with it once and for all. Make him a more serious character, do whatever, just make HIM the focus of WWE.

They were doing that for a while. We saw Kurt just snap several times. Then we got the fickin cowboy hat and stuff. I mean, yeah, it was funny to see his little rivalry with Austin, but in the end it hurt him real bad.

the ratings will be down next week, count on it. Unless something big happens like Triple Ah in a mask match against Rey Misterio Jr, cause you know it will happen.

I still think it's more the "Well, the last two shows were good, so this one should be too" vibe causing people to tune in, instead of the HHHeavy TV last night drawing ratings.

No matter the real reason the ratings go up or down, you can be sure somebody is gonna' spin doctor it like this:

- 20 minute HHH promos = RATINGS

- Pushing anybody not already in favor with SOMEONE backstage = NO RATINGS

I've got it!

How about a guy who drinks, swears and doesn't take shit from the boss?

Oh wait...

How about a guy who is arrogant, stylish and speaks in third person?

Oh wait...

How about a guy who beats everyone, cuts 20 minute promos and even wins in the ME at Wrestlemania, but is actually Heel?

Oh wait...

How about an olympian, who is self obsessed and cheats while spouting off about integrity?

Oh wait...

This time I got it.

How about someone who is a Face, sticks to the rules, does what he's told and still wins in the end?

They haven't used that in about 10 years, it's fresh.

Angle is a bit of a joke character now. He's bald, and the fans are now conditioned to chant "You Suck!" to his music and "What?" during his promos.

Any attempt to turn him face (or into a serious, badass heel) is gonna take something big.

serious badass heel...have him beat Edgew and Hogan in a handicapper, after snapping when hogan mocks him mid-match

Naz, I agree: we need a good ol' fashioned babyface. Just make sure he's vicious in the ring, but breaks the holds the moment they get to the ropes, and only goes for a pinfall when he truly thinks he can win.

Or better yet: how about just any character we can care about? Create some multi-dimensional characters. See: RAVEN in ECW/WCW.

They tried that already.

He was called Rocky Maivia.

I'd personally like to see wrestlers who aren't clear "babyfaces" or "heels." I would like their characters to have motives and a desire to complete those motives. But I wouldn't have them be clear-cut "good" or "bad." Take a play for instance: the characters are portrayed as having feelings and are multi-dimensional.

To their credit, the WWE seems to be trying to do this.

I'd say right now RVD sorta fits that role. He usually doesn't cheat or use foreign objects (outside of hardcore matches), breaks in the ropes, etc.
