Guest Trivia247 Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Since when did Rey Mystero add Powerhouse to his Resume as a wrestler? We know from the pics of his house show matches with Funaki before his Debut that he bulked up, but Damn, I can't believe he is just 165 pounds, he must have at least five more pounds of Muscle on him... And Since giving him the win over Angle, are they making him more of a Main Stream wrestler outside of the Cruiserweight Ranks?
Guest mach7 Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 165 is about right. He's only around 5'4" (that 5'6" stuff on the site is BS). Plus, I don't know WHY this bulked up stuff is news to anyone. IMO, he looks like he's the same size that he was when WCW went out of business...

Guest The Amazing Rando Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 BAH GAWD! Rolling Thunder into a kip up rana? could Rey Rey pull off the dreaded kip up rana........
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I really don't see Rey getting pushed anymore than an X-Pac/Spike Dudley "Loser-Hero" type character who always gets his ass kicked by big guys and pulls an upset win every once in a blue moon. Giving him a win over Angle at Summerslam will only get him so far, because they have to continue that push and put him over as more than just the usual "giant killer" character who upsets big guys but is always made to look weaker than them. This is the WWE, so I doubt this will ever happen, but if they put Rey over enough, they could have a solid mid-card character on their hands. Of course, that will never happen, but we can always hope. In a year, I would expect to see him in the same boat as Tajiri is in now: charismatic and worthy of a push, but too small to be taken seriously by management.
Guest Trivia247 Posted August 12, 2002 Report Posted August 12, 2002 a Fluke Win usually comes off of a School boy or a Misque from a Opponent. Rey actually pulled off his Finisher and got a clean pin out of it. Thats more solid than Funaki pinning Storm.

Well, seeing as Rey's ranna got almost no respect earlier in the match (Benoit essentially sold it as a "flashy move" that pissed him off more than hurt him) and seeing as the finish was just the same thing done into a role up, I'd say it was an upset. Plus, Rey wasn't the legal man, and Kurt basically reacted like he had been cheated.
