Guest Redhawk Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I was at RAW last night, so I didn't really hear everything that was said until I watched the tape today. Was that little segment some kind of payback for Matt's speaking up in meetings with the writers? I can understand Bischoff's little, "Who are you?" question, because Matt has just been doing Heat for a while. And maybe Eric's blatant cheating on the coin flip makes sense, because Jeff Hardy is supposedly the bigger draw and Eric would want him to face RVD. But then JR's statement that Matt and Eric seemed to have "a little heat" drew it all together. When else do they ever say "heat," which is one of those precious insider terms? Some people told me that Matt is actually being rewarded by getting to work a singles program with the very-popular Jeff Hardy. But as we have learned, any heel who's going to get pushed has to have the on-air backing of the Evil Comissioner/Owner/GM, and Bischoff and Matt "have heat." So I can see Matt being pretty much buried after a very short feud where Jeff basically squashes him. Any thoughts?
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think they are building it that he's sick of his brother & Bischoff...so he's going to SD. I also think they did that so he would be motivated to turn heel...that's just how I look at it.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 He will def. go to Smackdown, but I doubt he'll be elevated much by going there. Just another midcarder.
Guest Redhawk Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 But so far, every wrestler who's gone from one show to another went to their new show with the objection of their old show's GM. For example, Bischoff was pissed off that Stephanie stole Brock Lesnar, Benoit, and Eddy Guerrero. On the other hand, Steph was angry when Eric stole HHH. With this "heat" between Matt and Bischoff, why would Bischoff even care is Stephanie stole his talent, especially when he barely remembers who the talent is? What kind of coup would that be for Smackdown when RAW doresn't even recognize the guy?
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 What kind of coup would that be for Smackdown when RAW doresn't even recognize the guy? They could build it on SD that he was a mis-used talent on Raw and that on SD he'll show off his real talents.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think Matt could work on Smackdown if given the right opponents. I think seperating the Hardys is a good idea.

Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Steph was angry when Eric stole HHH That's a bl;essing though
Guest jimmy no nose Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Maybe Eric spelled it M-a-t Like Mat Hoffman, pro BMXer.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Maybe its 2 T's as opposed to 1 T which would make him Mat (as in a door mat) Hardy.. Also, was I the only one that caught when bischoff was talking to RVD, he started to say "you're Guaranteed..", and then was interrupted by one of the Hardy's and as he looked at them he stoped at "You're Gua..", so it sounded like "you're gay"
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 It almost seems as if the WWE is building up to Matt Hardy defecting to Smackdown soon. Like stated earlier, he could go to Smackdown and display his real talent, which he couldn't do on RAW because Bischoff was holding him down.

That would be a Russoish "worked shoot," which has proven to not work well. Besides, BISCHOFF holding people down? Oh come on, we all know...eh, fuck it. You know what I'd say.

Again I ask, what is this "real talent" that Matt Hardy has? He's passable in a tag team, but as a single he's shown me *nothing*
Guest Redhawk Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Or maybe "M-A-T" would make him a...MatRat! SPOILER ALERT Matt joined Smackdown yesterday, coming out to help Hurricane and Shannon Moore fight off Billy and Chuck. Backstage, Matt took credit for saving them, so I guess his new heel character is supposed to be an arrogant one. Also, Stephanie acted like signing him was a big deal. Personally, I thought it would have been better to keep him on RAW. His explanation for why he gave Jeff a Twist of Fate is that he was concerned for Jeff safety againts someone like Chris Benoit. This would of course be ingenuine, but having Matt play the phony concerned brother who's really just jealous would be cool.

Guest The Amazing Rando Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I think i was one of the first to call him "Mat" and I will do so for the rest of time... it's Mat and Jefff (with 3 F's)....the Hardly Boyz..!
Guest Brian Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I'm still pumped over the OMEGA reunion. Jeff comes over, and if we get Hardys v. Serial Thrillaz, Heyman is king.
