Guest Downhome Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 This is from 1wrestling... On The Howard Stern radio show this morning, a caller asked Howard if he would ever work with Vince McMahon on a project. Howard admitted he has been speaking with Vince about working with WWE. Howard went into semi-detail about how he almost agreed to appear at SummerSlam, but gave Vince an alternate idea/proposal that Vince seemed to like. Howard also mentioned that he thought about being behind an alternative wrestling promotion and perhaps he might wind up doing that one day as well. Howard ended by putting over Vince as a nice guy & someone who knows how to promote fun. ...ugh, I don't care if you are a fan of his or not, but I do NOT want to see him on my TV, PERIOD! To make it worse, he's thinking of being BEHIND an "alternative wrestling promotion"? What in the hell could he possibly do with THAT!? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I like Howard, but Howard + WWE = bad.
Guest the pinjockey Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Tell Howard to get behind NWATNA as his alternative promotion. Get them a slot on E! give Howard 30 minutes a show to do his thing then let the X division go at it for a hour and a half.
Guest I Like WDI Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I can see it now: HSWF - Howard Stern Wrestling Federation Main Event Triple Threat Poopie on a Pole Match Billy West vs That one Elephant guy vs The one from Slipknot who crapped in the studio. Special guest referee: Naked Howard Stern.
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 If he's working with Vince....shit, he can't be any worse than Stephanie.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Howard Stern is awesome! I've been listening to him since I was 5
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Howard Stern is awesome! I've been listening to him since I was 5 Damned right. I watch Howard's TV show religiously (I don't wake up in time for the radio show, usually).
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Howard Stern: So Steph, why don't you show us your funbags. Howard Stern: So Vince, your daughter is hot. Is it true you check out her funbags from time to time on tv? Howard Stern: So Eric, how hot was the check that was doing your wife while you watched?
Guest TestKick Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Celebrities and wrestling don't mix... See WCW.
Guest Angle-plex Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I like Howard, but last time Vince was on the show, Howard didn't even know he owned WWE. He thought he was just an announcer.
Guest notJames Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I remember when Howard had Austin on the show, and Marisa Mazola was introduced (possibly handling Austin's PR). And they mentioned that she was married to Shane McMahon, whom she had grown up with and had been neighbors. So of course Howard assumes she married him for his money... ... not realizing that she was part of the multi-million dollar Mazola family that produces food products like cooking oil and such. You'd think someone would have clued him in on that, but oh well... And I'm not so sure Howard didn't know Vince owned the company. He's a pretty shrewd interviewer and no doubt has his people do as much research as possible. He may have just been putting on his "mark" hat to speak for the average listener who might not be attuned to the wrestling world.
Guest BigTim2002 Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 If he gets behind an alternative wrestling promotion, it will probably be something like the HWA or the OVW. Bullshit. Somebody needs to talk to a network and get NWA F'n:TNA on my TV screen or I will SHOOT SOMEBODY. I have not seen a fucking match because my satellite doesn't carry it. It's bullshit. Howard, if anything, fuck Vince and get behind the NWA. I'll love ya for life.
Guest Dangerous A Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Howard as a shock jock is fabulous. I love the guy. But in the wrestling business, he'd just turn it into a big joke. He doesn't really respect the business all that much if you think about it. Yeah, he has wrestlers on his radio show and kisses their asses, but that's because they can whip Howard and Co.'s asses. Look what happened when Booker was there. A while before, they were making fun of Booker's interview with one of Howards people and going to town with it. When Book shows up in person to confront them, they all turned into a bunch of pussies. Howard Stern, despite coming off as low brow entertainment, still thumbs his nose at the wrestling business. Howard and WWE will not be a marriage made in heaven.
Guest TestKick Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Sorry, but after yesterday's NWA show... Fuck them.
Guest razazteca Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 do you remember the Oddities? Nicole Bass as your future Womens Champ High Pitch Eric as your new ring announcer Beetle Juice as Mini Booker T Fart Man as Hardcore champ
Guest netslob Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 i've listened to Stern for about 10 years now, and i can say that his opinion of pro wrestling is less then sterling. he sees it, like most people in "legitimate media", as "fake" and "worked" and what have you. he did have Vince on his show once that i can remember, and basically all he asked him was how much money he makes. also, once, about 5 years ago, he was talking down about wrestling, calling it crap. a little while later, while taking phone calls, a caller named "The Sandman" challenged Howard to come on down to the ring and he would show him how fake it was. pretty funny bit. i, naturally, marked out like a lil bitch.
Guest Vyce Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I'd love for him to do this, just so he could claim to have invented this too. "I invented pro wrestling, Robin, HOO HOO HOO!" This will never take place. Howard won't ever do anything with a wrestling promotion. I'm surprised he actually took half a minute out of his busy schedule of giving himself a verbal blowjob, or talking endlessly about his girlfriend, or name dropping about who he saw at what restaurant the night before, to talk about the WWE. O&A and R&F fan since day one.
Guest Angle is Wrestling Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Well, everything Howard touches seems to turn to gold. It would bring some mainstream publicity to SS if he was there.
