In order for a wrestling program to be well executed, it must have a strong announcing booth. The job of the announcers is threefold: to promote upcoming events, call the action of the match, and explain to the viewers the psychology and reasoning behind what they are seeing. Since most announcing for shows is now done in post-production, the voices are only heard, and the announcers seldom seen on camera. Thus, it is important that the primary requirement for being a WWE announcer is to be a handsome young man. Further thus, Kevin Dunn is a homo.

But Kevin Dunn seems to like Mark Loyd, Michael Cole, Todd Pettengill, Craig DeGeorge, Sean Mooney, Chris Leary, and Coach. His finger may be off the switch, but that's probably becuase it's up his ass.

Guest art_vandelay Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Well, they all start out in on-air roles as backstage interviewers, so a good appearance is required for that part of the job. They eventually use them as commentators too because they probably think anybody can do it.

Those guys are mainly the backstage hacks however, most of them aside from Cole never called PPVs or major TV shows. The REAL announcers have always been grizzled old bastards like JR, Lawler, Gorilla, Heenan, Jesse, Vince, etc.

Whoa, so if announcing is done after the fact, when the commentators have a chance to see the show and think up things to say, and an opportunity to do retakes...why the hell does today's commentary still suck so bad?

And as for the person saying Leary was still around I think you're talking about Mark Loyd. He does Velocitity.

Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 He did some Fox Kids radio show, and he did Jakked play-by-play briefly, and the voice-overs (coming up next and sponsored by stuff) for the studio shows (Livewire, Superstars, Excess, and the syndies now)until a few weeks ago on Confidential they got this woman that talks like she should be telling me what porno movie is on next. I've seen him on TV. He looks rather vanilla.
