Hey everyone... you've probably seen me post here before. I'm a part of the SWF, or more specifically the SJL... and we're hurting for members. It's a really fun fed to be in, at least from my experience (which is twenty months of not being good enough to make the big leagues. God, I feel untalented.) It's at the bottom of the boards, right underneath Smartmarks Championship Wrestling, and for at the very most ten hours of your time a week it's worth it.

Thanks,

Mike Van Siclen.

I have a wrestler all drawn up and ready to go, but there are two things keeping me from submitting the character:

1) the style of writing matches out seems very intriguing but monstrously time-consuming. Do most people have one a week or is there a chance/necessity for multiple matches?

2) the number of finishers. this sounds kinda dumb, but one of my character's basic building points is that he's a creepy, Slayer-ejoying occultist-assassin type, who originally had four separate finishers, one for each of the (cliche drumroll) Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. To go even deeper in depth, he would start with just one of them, the Conquest, and would come out to an appropos piece of music by the aforementioned Slayer ("New Faith", to be exact). Eventually, that move isn't enough to put his opponent away, so he busts out the next one, and moves into using that as his primary finisher with an accompanying change in music (i.e. the new finisher is the War Machine and he comes out to "War Ensemble") but the old finisher is there as a setup to the new one if he can't seem to wear the opponent down enough to begin with or if he just feels like being a jerk. Lather, rinse, repeat for the "Plague" and the "Death Machine." Finally, a culmintating, major match a ways down the line, at which he must throw everything at his opponent to secure victory. At this point, he comes out to "Raining Blood" and is most wonderfully brutal :)

Hey it's a stupid dream, but it's mine. I'm not sure what my point is, but at least it bumps the thread...

Wow, that'd be pretty cool.

We had a guy kinda like that called Psycho Freak about, oh, a year and a half ago, but he quit rather quick, I believe.

Oh well. ^_^

I'm really not the one to be answering these questions, but here goes...

1) When you start out in the JL, you'll have maybe three hours of writing every five days. Not horrible, in the slightest.

2) You could find a way to do that.. pretty easily, actually. Just pull it like you said... have the Conquest be your finisher for a while, then after a little while move it to signature moves and add the next one. You don't have to have three finishers, even though most of us do.

Any praise from a World Champ is good enough for me :D

Edit: Thanks, dude. I'm very intrigued by the whole idea...expect the Slayer's debut to come soon :)

Yeah.

It's not too hard on the writing. the only monster matches you'll ever see are the SWF PPVs, which tend to have main events over 10K words. But you don't gotta worry about that yet

No, I'm not. http://pub79.ezboard.com/bvanillamidgetsforum. It's a lot more laid back, and from reading some of the stuff you guys have "down south", it's a lot more fun. And I believe the match writing is better. Sure, not everyone writes matches but the bookers kick lots and lots of ass.

I think its good there are two options...you all take it very very seriously, while we tend to be more loose, but don't get us wrong. We take our so called IntenselyHeldDown show very seriously and get alot of input and people writing it.

Tony, CWM, and myself run the storylines but members easily suggest their own. We have one overarching storyline and we do our best to fit everyone into it

We also have a rather innovative belt where the champion names the way its defended...Superstar currently is defending it via 2/3 falls rules.

So, while we have one thread that gets absolutely wacky, theres a good e-fed component as well. We recently started a ranking system just for shits n giggles

I encourage you all to check it out as well. We have often wanted to cross-promote and maybe put on a dual show with you all, but when that is really up for us to talk about

Maybe not crosspromote, but a dual show would be kick-ass, in my opinion...

Which means less than two cents. Yay. But at least, a supercard called "Revenge of the SmartMarks" would rule.

We so need to have an inter-promotional card... Dunno how it would be judged...
